This should be counted as an upper 5 star review. Within the chain, there was a combination of anxious people with crazy demands and people who could only act at a slow pace. Despite this all being covered by multiple agents, Alex in particular had the local knowledge and connections to keep the entire chain on course. I can say that without him, the whole thing would likely have fallen through and he worked really hard to keep this all going through to completion. Alex is a good example of why you need a great estate agent - would wholeheartedly recommend!

The team at Breckon & Breckon Witney helped me to complete the purchase of a flat earlier this year. Throughout the process the service was efficient and professional, and the team were always there to help smooth over any bumps in the road. I recently lost a set of housekeys whilst traveling into London, however fortunately the keys had a Breckon & Breckon key tag attached. A kind individual found the keys and reached out to Breckon & Breckon. John and the team went out of their way on a Saturday evening to identity the key tag and contact me, and my keys were returned to me the very next day. He has kept us informed every step of our sale & when we have had questions, John has responded almost immediately even out of work hours which we never expected. You will always be able to speak to someone at Breckon & Breckon which I know can be rare among estate agents. We had heard a lot of horror stories about estate agents being quick to secure your custom & then finding that you cannot contact them, however, if this is true, then, Breckon & Breckon are the complete antithesis of this because we have felt as if our custom is truly valued at all times, from the sale sign going up to exchange! From the very first home valuation visit all the way through to completion, we were impressed with the friendliness, enthusiasm and professionalism of the Breckon and Breckon team in Witney. At the outset, John provided an enthusiastic and professional market appraisal of my mother’s property, and we greatly appreciated his understanding of the reasons behind the sale. The in-house photographer did a great job highlighting the property through well-chosen angles and features, and the marketing brochures were of a high quality. Communication was great throughout, and John and Madison worked hard to secure the chain and keep us updated. All the Witney team are knowledgeable of the local markets, and very approachable- we had many questions during the course of the sale, but our enquiries were always responded to swiftly. No question was too small! If we popped into the office, there was always a friendly face to help us, including Julia and Alex. This was an enormous support for my mother during the sale process. Avoid as Tenant

We were excellent tenants who paid rent on time every month and maintained the property to the best of our abilities, yet Breckon & Breckon attempted to withhold £517 from our £1,125 deposit - nearly half of what we paid. They charged us for window mechanism repairs that were carried out a month after we vacated and after the property had been re-let to new tenants, despite their own check-out report making no mention of any window damage. They also tried to charge us £300 for bathroom redecoration due to "mould damage" when their own inventory photographs clearly showed the bathroom ceiling was already chipping and black with mould when we moved in. We had no choice but to take the dispute to independent adjudication through mydeposits. The adjudicator reviewed all the evidence and awarded the landlord just £10 out of the £517 they claimed, effectively rejecting 98% of their deductions. This result speaks volumes about their approach to deposit deductions. Breckon & Breckon may be good for landlords who want an agent that will aggressively pursue deposit deductions, but tenants will only suffer from unfair charges and having to fight for what is rightfully theirs. If you do rent through them, take extensive photographs at check-in, document everything, and be prepared to challenge any unreasonable deductions. Good tenants deserve fair treatment, not to be used as a revenue source for routine property maintenance.

Sold my cottage through Breckon & Breckon Witney office recently and have to say that the professionalism and support they offered was absolutely quality. The property was quite nuanced and really needed a particular type of buyer which did take time. Breckon were excellent throughout the process - our second agent made a point of dragging anyone they could to look at the property whereas I felt Breckon screened potential buyers much more professionally and ultimately found the right buyer. Unfortunately my solicitors were pretty awful and nearly resulted in the sale falling through. However, Breckon, and John in particular put in a huge amount of effort to help us keep the sale on track. I can't praise the effort and dedication of John and the team enough to help us get the sale done. Would recommend above the other chain agencies in Witney who just play the numbers game and just repeatedly recommend reducing the price so they can get a sale, Breckon never once pressured us to reduce the price and were patient to wait for the right buyer at the right price for us.PositiveProfessionalism

They’re just sitting there to loot…

They’re just sitting there to loot money. Hardly any service provided. They’ll eat your deposit money for sure. The customers are the only sufferers here, whether you pay a deposit or a reposit. They do not value customer’s money at all. Even after spending 250 on reposit and 400 on end of tenancy cleaning they’re charging 240 extra for dumb reasons.
