Incredible Staff!

Myself and my partner are first time buyers looking for our first property. This is been such an exciting process, and the lovely Mia from Redhill's Gascoigne-Pees has made it even more wonderful. From the moment I first called in to book viewings, her sparkling friendly personality has shone through and she shared in our excitement to be looking for our dream home. Obviously it is quite a big decision and a large commitment, so we are so appreciative of the time Mia took to get to know what we wanted, what we were avoiding and what about the properties we picked that made us choose them. That meant that she was able to suggest some others that we hadn't come across, in the same area, for the same price range and with the same general feel as the others. This meant that our top 3 properties are now all ones held with GP! This has been great, since we know that whatever property we end up going with, we're going to have Mia's fantastic support behind us. I am so impressed by her ability to show off the best bits of the properties whilst explaining things so clearly. I truly trust that she has our best interests in mind and is just as psyched to look for our first property as we are! She is an absolute credit to the business, and I am looking forward to working with her to get the keys to our new home.

Very disappointing and unprofessional!! I never faced a situation like this from any of Maidenhead agencies, Majority are transparent in their communications. I rang them last Friday and agreed a viewing on following Monday (not received any confirmation or anything but their verbal agreement). On Monday called them to double check and they cancelled on me due to owner illness. Rescheduled viewing for Saturday on the following weekend. Then during the week I called twice for two days to confirm the appointment and the person ‘Dylan’ who I spoke with was not available on all these days. His colleagues took my personal info and a message from me maybe around 4 times and no one came back to me… I went to check the property I was interested in just by chance and was shocked to find out it has been sold!!! Very unreliable!!!

Maidenhead branch: Weirdest state agent interaction I’ve ever had

Was already feeling an odd vibe from the agents - they sounded annoyed or something. Put an offer in a house less than 6% off the original price. They told me the owners didn’t accept it - fair enough. Called them and asked for a second viewing to potentially offer more. They booked me in for the following week. One day after that, the agents call me to cancel the viewing because “the owner didn’t want us in his house again” because our offer was “too low” and “it threw them off”. Even if the owner genuinely felt that way, the agent could simply have said the seller had decided not to proceed with further viewings. Telling me that our offer “threw them off” and that the owner “didn’t want us in his house again” is unnecessarily blunt and, frankly, rather unprofessional. I’ve never seen anything like this is my life before. Feels like we dodged a bullet though. If they treated us like this at this point, I can only imagine the sort of troubles we would have if we actually did business with them.

Harassment, Alarm & Distress Caused - Spamming Cowboys

I went through Get Agent which was my first big mistake… they gave my details to Gascoigne Pees who called me within minutes. I explained that I wasn’t looking at a valuation or selling my house for at least 3-6 months and to ‘stand down’… I’ve been called every day or every other day since, and when I don’t answer the phone, they don’t leave a message and when you call back it doesn’t go through to the branch only to the head office. I asked my details to be removed from their system but I’ve still had daily calls from them, even when on the phone to their head office to make a complaint, I was called again by their branch. I have since had 4 spam calls from other estate agents with details sent to GetAgent with my phone number and a fake email address that Get Agent are tracing using the IP address from the fake email due to a breaking of GDPR rules. Yet to be proven but seems a coincidence that after having an argument with someone at Gascoigne Pees about harassment and spam calls from them, that my details have been sent out to estate agents in Coventry, Stoke-On-Trent, Nottingham and Leeds… Would never sell my house through GP and trust them with any personal details..

We have just started purchasing a property through David at G-Pees. Having been under offer for 9 months and messed around on 2 previous properties we wanted to purchase, David was extremely helpful in helping us secure a property. I must say, as a first time buyer, Mr David Ashdown made me feel really comfortable, discussing my current and forthcoming situation with regards to buying on the market, or via the shared ownership prospects. Not only did he listen and was impartial, but he was able to offer the different possible avenues, that would make this feasible, and pass you on to the other experts in their field, to push this forward for me. I have spoken to several companies, brokers etc, and I felt most comfortable with this sales manager, and was able to explain myself with no barriers peacefully, and left reassured. Give them a call, if you are surely feeling like you have met a dead end, with getting yourself on the property market :)

Absolutely shocking! Avoid at all costs. Every email, phone call, even personal visits have been made to the office for updates and we found ourselves constantly chasing after for answers only then to be left chasing again & again. We were told that any enquiries would be financially qualified to buy before viewing to save time wasting. We were asked to be out for the day on a saturday so they could host an 'open house' as they have an unbelievable amount of interest & have qualified so called enquiries, or so we were told, so we leave for the day, come home ask for an update on how things went, 3 days later we get an update that not one person actually viewed the property because not one person financially qualified, they knew this on the Thursday before but never thought to mention it. After that shambles we did have a couple of viewings, however they didn't quite go to plan either, with the communication of this whole situation being less than acceptable and the property taking no interest we decided to hand in notice and go with a different estate agent as we just simply were not satisfied with the service and couldn't wait around forever. This is where I should have drawn the line with Gascoine Pees and just gone elsewhere. Magically they have a buyer, out of thin air one appeared. This was in June it's now December and the property has only just been completed. We decided to go with them as they reassured us that things would go smoothly and quickly. Everything we were asked for was done straight away, aiming to complete in October we were relocating out of Maidenhead and needed to start looking at schools in the new area for the children to go to. With them knowing this was important we asked to try and get the ball rolling - this obviously wasn't done and found ourselves again chasing and chasing yet again. 6 months later we've now had three pushed back dates for completion, an unholy amount of stress, no updates, constantly chasing them for updates just to be lied to and given the normal salesperson speech. When the sales progressor, Melanie, from head office got involved things actually started moving & she was a pleasure to deal with. I think without her the sale would have gone down the drain as were again ready to pull the plug. Admitted the buyer we had was probably just a case of bad luck and has also been a nightmare, the guys here just didn't seem to care too much about this particular sale, which made us question if there was even a buyer at times. It just so seemed that we were always at the bottom of the pile and took a back seat unless we called and called and even then it was back to square one. In short - Stay away, go somewhere else. Save yourself the hassle.
