I’m very disappointed with the state of the property Chase Buchanan (St Margarets branch) rented to me. The landlord agreed that I could leave earlier and he asked them to contact me, but they haven’t done so and they haven’t even replied to my own last email asking how it’s possible they were not aware of the problems of this flat or they haven’t told me. Even if they couldn’t do anything now, they could at least apologise. I’ve never felt being scammed or treated poorly by any other agency before.

Despite a strong start to our move in process, the final few weeks have been appalling. In short, we called Chase Buchanan the day before our agreed move-in to confirm the time for Tuesday for check-in, inventory and keys hand-over. On Tuesday, we arrived with a full van and found no one waiting to let us in and indeed on calling the agency, they had 'forgot' about the appointment. We had to call the landlord directly to let us in the property to drop off our goods and we received no follow-up email or effort from Chase Buchanan to address why this had occurred. This was made more frustrating that we had no single point of contact, and had to explain to situation to multiple disinterested agents to try and resolve. We agreed that Saturday would be the move-in day to allow for final electrical work and they agreed on the Tuesday that they would email us ASAP with our move-in times. No such email appeared and we had to chase them on Friday to find out the time. On calling the individual responsible for tenancy progression (and the person we confirmed move in on Tuesday earlier in the week), she said, 'oh I thought you had moved in', leading to the conclusion that no one had thought to inform this person of the problems earlier in the week and no plan was in place for our move in. She informed us that the inventory clerk would not be rescheduled and instead the landlord would move us in. This is entirely unprofessional and left us with many questions around proper key handover and querying the inventory. Abysmal internal and external communication, an unwillingness to engage with the problem and solve it, a poor relationship with the landlord and an overall lack of care about their brand or the move in experience. For agencies with already poor reputations, this is a new low.

Richmond office do nothing to go against the stereotypical estate agent persona. Rude, condescending, pushy, passive aggressive at every point of contact. And this is from the ‘manager’. I was going to ask them to sell my house. Not a chance now. Thoroughly unpleasant agency that clearly has so much business (not! - it’s currently a sellers market with next to no supply of my type of house) they can afford to treat potential sellers this way. Big mistake! From over 50% of 1star reviews on here you’d think they would be striving to do better. Says it all. Ultimate in arrogance!

I recently sold my house - twice - with Chase Buchanan. I say twice as the initial sale fell through at the very last minute, however by the following week Kristian and Myles had yet another heavy footfall through the property and within two weeks it was sold again. Throughout what was a really stressful process they were fantastic, always updating me, always in contact and more to the point always contactable to talk me through the process and any worries. Whilst I would definitely not recommend trying to sell your house twice during a pandemic, I would really recommend Chase Twickenham.

10 out of 10 for these guys. I was so impressed by the team, and how well Dan communicated/replied to emails and always kept me updated. I had to put my flat on the market twice after my first sale fell through and throughout they were enthusiastic and kept positive.
