Highly recommended Witney Team

We recently sold a property with Allen & Harris Witney. From start to finish the agents were professional, knowledgeable, responsive and dedicated. They worked relentlessly to seek a qualified buyer, for a very fair price in a short time period, particularly amiss pandemic. We must add that Mr Alexander Chappell, in particular was invaluable (and exceptional) throughout the entire sale process. And even post-sale! Alexander is very very reliable, efficient and organised, and his communication skills are top notch. Whether we needed a quick answer to a question, detailed email or a phone call to explain an intricate process - he was there to ensure our understanding and satisfaction. Moreover to all professional qualities, he defines a decent person . There is no other sales agent I would rather have had representing my family and I. A true asset to this particular firm. Charity Shop Sue could show this lot a few things about management. Broker was an imbecile, couldn’t get him off the phone until we paid, then couldn’t get him on the phone. His manager was a nylon shirt wearing narcissist. They caused delay, drift, and endless stress. Avoid like the plague. Financial ombudsman here we come.

PORT TALBOT OFFICE - The worst experience I've ever had with an estate. I had a pleasant viewing with the owner who showed me around when the estate agent wasn't available. Loved the house a d spent 2 hours chatting with the owner who seemed more than keen to sell to me, even asked me to exchange numbers to keep each other updated as this agent allowed his last sale to fall through and never notified him.Later the same day I txt the owner and offered full asking, telling him he could take as much time as needed to decide. He replied instantly and accepted. I emailed the agent and formally submitted my offer as well as my mortgage in principle proof of funds (far more than enough to Substantiate my offer) I phoned the next working day a d the agent Sarah Rowlands was instantly offish and dismissive, huffing down the phone and acting completely put out that I had called. She was annoyed me and the owner had contact and told me nothing had been accepted and viewings would go ahead still.I heard nothing til I was contacted by Rachel in there mortgage team. I told them I had already got a lender I was happy with but was pushed in to chatting with her anyway. After talking through the mortgage info I was then called yo say my offer was accepted and it would be taken off the market....that was until dat laterite Rachel had decided upon herself to go behind my back and speak to my lender and tell me they wouldn't lend to me...pure rubbish, i had personal contact with my lender and was told that agents tend to use intimidating and bullying tactics to force people to pay for their services.As soon as I refused to pay for the agents in house mortgage service I was ghosted and then told my offer had been gazumped and owner stopped contact. I took it as a blessing in disguise as I would never deal with Sarah or Rachel or this crooked company. A week after that I wascontactedby the owner again who assumee I was still buying...I had to be the one to tell him that his agents lied to him and me and that I was messed around and they declined my offer without his knowledge.Avoid these unprofessional,dishonest,useless, crooked liars at all cost!!!

Reported it straight away on the 29th of September, didnt have anyone come out until the 8th of October by then the damage is substantial and the electrics were tripping.

Allen & Harris, Frome, BA11 1ARI tried to contact them to view a cottage, left a message but no response. Later, spoke to 2 people (one the manager) who both promised to call back with an appointment and didn't. In desperation, I traced the owner and wrote to him. Possibly as a result I was called 3 days later and offered an appointment 2 weeks after my initial approach.Subsequently made an offer of full price but 24 hours later got a call to say that off-road parking, which was included in their sales details, would be £5000 extra. "Oh, you should have been told that."I shall never deal with this firm again, either to buy or sell - their 63% one star rating says it all.

Sold and bought with Talbot Green Allen and Harris…

We have sold our house with Allen and Harris Talbot Green Branch and also bought our new house with them. They have been very helpful and friendly throughout the process and have helped us overcome a few hiccups along the way. We mostly worked with Tom who had been fantastic and has always made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. Leanne has also been great and both have made us feel at ease with what can be a very stressful time. We cannot fault them and we have been really happy with all of their help :)

First time buyers - Excellent team

We were buying as first time buyers, we had no idea what we were meant to be doing and when. Our sale wasn't the easiest due to many complications from the developers, but Carly and the team really went above and beyond for us. I was able to call nearly every other day and they'd all be cheerful, tell me I am not a fool for constantly chasing, and just being absolutely lovely. I highly recommend Allen and Harris! Their customer service is on another level and they would bend over backwards if that would help the process move smoother.

Very little communication. AVOID!!

Avoid this company at all costs. I used the PPAISLEY branch, I was misquoted on the fee cost and over quoted on the value of my property. So, it cost me MORE to sell and my property was worth LESS than they said. After taking time off work to allow Allen & Harris' photographer in my property I ended up asking them to use my own photographs. I was told I would be contacted once a week with an update, but this rarely happened. Prior to my flat selling I hadn't heard anything for over 3 weeks. I has to ask them to check viewers were actually viewing a property that fitted they're search criteria. A constant reason a buyer wasn't interested was that it was in the wrong area. Goodness sake! Google maps!! Check with the buyer where they DO want to stay!! That was beyond strange, why view somewhere that is not in your search area? I honestly doubted half my viewers even existed. Weekly calls from the office from Leanne soon stopped, these calls were embarrassing as Gary who sold me on using Allen & Harris had assured me that my property was in high demand. This was obviously not the case OR this company were not doing their job. I eventually had to chase up this company to make sure they were doing all they could to sell my property. I think they were more relieved my property sold than I was, I got ONE phone call to say an offer was being initiated and that was the last I heard from them. Everything then came thro my solicitor. They did practically NOTHING to earn their over-rated fee. Avoid this company at all costs. I have only awarded 1 star as there is no option to give ZERO.

Michelle Hallas of Allan and Harris Chippenham was extremely helpful, and went out of her way to call by in person to help me with the various forms. Without her advice and knowledge I would have been lost. She is a very knowledgeable agent. In fact she was the oil that kept the wheels turning. Would give zero if I could

Would give zero if I could. We had lots of issues with the house and the estate agents just ghosted us. To this day, they still owe me money for the keys because they couldn't even manage to get keys cut right (never heard of checking?). I keep asking when it will be returned and Lewis just says "I will get back to you". Special shoutout to Lewis for being particularly useless on this matter and for maintenance issues overall. They left us with broken furniture for a whole year- they kept saying they would send someone to fix it but never did. The house had an awful mould problem- they sent someone over to give quotes to install extractor fan in bathroom but nothing came of that. They tried to milk money out of the deposit but we argued so they backed out (their claims had no merit). Would not recommend. They don't check that houses are suitable to live in, and they don't respond or care if there's an issue with the house. Not responsible, practical, or reliable.

The same thing happened to me with…

The same thing happened to me with Allen and Harris. I arranged to see a house in Stoke Gifford with Alex. He cancelled this appointment after I had set off to see the house ( a 160 mile return journey) saying it was under offer so they cancelled the viewing. They seemed more interested in selling financial products than houses. There is something underhand in this and they are not acting in the interests of buyers or sellers. I will try never to patronise them again.

I have been waiting a month for a call back with more information. I found a couple times over the month and got told that I would be called back. Lack of respect

Just to be clear - this is a review from someone who is not a customer of Allen & Harris at Didcot, but someone who has been put in an awkward position by a landlord who is extremely keen to get the property rented again and arrange viewings as soon as possible. Neither her or Allen and Harris have had any consideration for us as tenants still paying the rent.

The adviser who was also the manager …

The adviser who was also the manager gave wrong information false expectations did not meet the agreed timeline for the sale of the property resulting additional cost to me as the seller . the manager /adviser did not return my calls I reported this poor service to head office and got no response . this is the second issue I have had with this company and would advise potential customer to steer clear of this. Had to give 1 star as giving none was…

Had to give 1 star as giving none was not an option. My daughter was a long term tenant (10 years plus) but was unexpectedly served 2 months notice to leave. Reason given was to replace the kitchen. This was a fabrication as the flat was then remarketed and let with nothing changed. The Allen and Harris bath branch who were the letting agent were unhelpful in finding alternative accommodation, devious and unprofessional in their conduct of business (lies, mixed messages, not responding) and finally delayed the return of the deposit. This was an appalling way to treat a long standing tenant of impeccable credentials. Please take heed and go elsewhere as the trauma and hassle of dealing with this agent is not worth the effort.

Harry from Allen and Harris, supported myself and my partner with our mortgage process and application. This included 3 x face to face appointments. During the appointments harry was very professional, friendly and approachable. Things we didn’t quite understand, being first time buyers, were explained in great depth. Not only did harry sort out the mortgage application, but also all the important insurance covers too. May I add, 10 days after our mortgage application was submitted, we had an email back to say it was accepted! Much quicker than what we thought the process would take! ☺️ thank you! We would definitely recommend
