Excellent Service from Yupy, Roath Branch

I’m incredibly pleased with the service I received from Yupy Sarwar at Allen & Harris Estate Agents for our recent home purchase. The home buying process can be daunting, but Yupy was fantastic every step of the way.From finding potential properties to helping me negotiate an ideal contract, Yupy was always available and communicated how each part of the whole process would move forward. He also understood the housing market in our search area, which allowed us to get an incredible deal that exceeded our expectations.Yupy answered all my questions with in-depth explanations, ensuring I fully understood what I was doing and why it was necessary, going the extra mile and assisting me with obtaining numerous specialist reports on the condition of the property and ensuring that when access was required for these inspections to take place the property was accessible, even at short notice.His knowledge and experience, combined with his patient approach, made this otherwise stressful event a smooth and successful process. Talbot Green - disgraceful

Last year I rented through the Talbot Green branch and it was a disgraceful process that set my mental health back by a mile. The communication was terrible and unresponsive throughout. Key questions around the health and sanity of the property were left unanswered. Particularly the quality of the tap resulting in continuous serious leaks, the filth in the property upon moving in and evidence of damp throughout. The 1 star is reserved just for James in this instance -very poor communication and service.On the subject of the leaks, poor communication in getting the leaks fixed resulted in a very serious leak occurring in the morning. In act of panic I located an out of hours plumber, because the alternative would have been severe flooding damaging infrastructure. However, because it was resolved during the working day I had to foot the full bill of over £400! The biggest joke of all was the agent phoning up after I left asking where the stop cock and meter were in the basement parking - shows the level of interest for the landlords!!The property was filthy upon moving in, and despite promises to reimburse my cleaning, this never happened.A challenge with the gas meter resulted in no gas for a full month when moving in. Again, promised of being resolved were never met until I moved in.Finally, the attitude of the team was poor. Particularly James who seemed indifferent and disinterested in everything. I managed to move out of this nightmare property early, but that might not be the case for everyone. This seems like an agency who has little interest in the customer and quite frankly could and would take advantage of vulnerable people. Avoid at all costs!

Amazing service

Witney Branch:My self and my partner used Allen and Harris to view a property which we fell in love with, we then decided to put an offer in. We have dealt with Poppy throughout the process which has been seamless from start to finish. Poppy has been very professional and found us a mortgage that suited our needs whilst taking in to account interest rates and affordability. I can honestly say Poppy is amazing and we would highly recommend her services if you are looking for a mortgage. Nothing is too much trouble. We are certainly looking forward to getting the keys to our new family home.

Poor communication

We previously used Allen and Harris to market our property and had a terrible experience. Today, we arranged to view a property marketed by them. I had reminder text messages confirming the viewing and when I arrived the owner said he accepted an offer 4 days ago and he was told Allen and Harris would inform anyone who had arranged to view - which they did not. Total waste of time and confirms my views.

AVOID.Empty promises and false hopes. The subpar performance of their residential sales manager resulted in a significant financial setback of several thousand pounds. We were hastily guided through the process with the belief in our favourable prospects, continually reassured by the manager. Despite our exhaustive efforts within a constrained timeframe, the situation abruptly fell apart. There were no apologies, no outreach attempts, and our emails went unanswered with no updates throughout the process. It was only after the fact that we received a call from the branch manager, delivering the news that we did not secure the contract.

We used Allan and Harris’ mortgage advisor service. The lovely Alanna Docherty helped us with honestly everything for buying our new house. She was amazing we could not fault her. She really went above and beyond and as for many people, all the things that come with buying the house can be very confusing but Alana explained everything so well and just made the whole process stress free to be honest. She always answered any messages or query’s quick and was always so friendly and polite. Her knowledge is great as well. We are so happy with the service provided and cannot recommend Alana enough. If you are looking for a mortgage advisor she is the one, we will be using her again for future housing things. Thanks so so much again Alana 😊

I’d honestly give zero if this was possible

I’d honestly give zero for Stoke Gifford office in Bristol if this was possible. The HQ needs to support the branch and the staff - as a buyer, having tried to call maybe 5 times on different days, you can’t speak to anyone and diverts to voicemail. I wonder if Sellers know? Perhaps they should try calling and see for themselves.

I used the Alan & Harris Swindon branch for a house sale in probate, Dave and his colleagues were 100%. Every time an issue arose, Dave was there to deal it. I also found the weekly inspection of the vacant property very helpful. If I were to buy a house or sell I would be sure to use these guys. Good experience all around.

Incompetent.They assured me it was a good tenant

They assured me it was a good tenant. When I received the referencing it turned out she wasn't earning enough to pay the rent, had lied about her job and salary, had seven addresses in eight years. I only learned this three days before she was supposed to move in. I stopped the deal and decided to sell. Allen and Harris still want their fee. The demand is £300 more than on the contract. Total incompetence.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

PAISLEY OFFICE What went wrong well everything did what I was promised never happened first time buyers didn't have a mortgage in place which I was told wouldn't happen!!!! The mortgage wasn't approved and they didn't have the decency to inform us unbelievable then because of the delay I had to fork out for another home report which had to be a special way never heard of it and the company they got gave it to another surveyor who weren't approved I mean you couldn't write this!!! Then another surveyor sent and he said he would have it sent the next day 23/9/25 and today 25/9/25 no call I've been in bed very ill all week and this helped to contributed it once again I had to call them to find it was done on Tuesday 😡I mean what does it take to inform your client you charge enough for no communication shocking I have sold more houses whilst they were children and never ever had anything like this happened before and always was kept in the loop so all in all I'm really disgusted with the service and would never use them again

So poor experience with them. Before peyment was taken, the Sequence Brooker was ringing every day. After payment made, totally change atitute. Lack of communication, no reply, ignoring, waiting forever. Because not receiving support from broker I made bad mistake pull out from property I was hoping to buy. Always been worrying when problem because this broker is not with you when really need.They change big amount of money for lifetime service. But no service after payment.

That’s is me again. After a very stressful negotiation with this company we decided to continue in the purchase of the apartment and couldn’t be worst. After a lack of information in the home report that builds with more than 4 floors bead to have lift by new regulations and just a few lenders accept to mortgage apartments in 5 floors without lift we got one. Lender tried 3 times to organise the service but Alen and Harris have not organised the appointment so they came to us telling the seller will put apartment back to market. Terrible service,terrible organisation, terrible customer service. Maybe now they will sell to their friend.

HOME IS NOW WHERE MY HEART IS

I can't begin to express my appreciation for the personal and professional service that the staff in the Chippenham office have provided.I was in the unenviable position of being in the middle of life's five biggest stressors including divorce and (consequently) needing to find somewhere to live, fast, within a tight budget and in a central location. I had been around the letting agencies in town to register, but due to my status as having been previously bankrupt I was met with short shrift, disinterest and dismissiveness. Not so at Allen and Harris.I was positively welcomed by Matthew Hooper, the Lettings Manager who not only quickly got me 'on the books' but actively offered solutions to my wish list. Almost overnight Jessica Burnell, Lettings Negotiator was on the case. Each time I popped into the office there was always someone on hand, from the Senior Branch Manager to the Sales team willing and happy to help if either of these two were out on business.In short, within a couple of weeks I had the keys to my new home and was extremely happy.I am not sure whether or not vetting and contracting with good landlords is a feature of their service but a review would not be complete without a mention of mine...super caring, fast acting and not in the least bit superior. Thank you all involved. I hope I prove to be a model tenant for some time to come.

Buying and selling my home with Allen and Harris

I used the Highworth branch of Allen and Harris and cannot recommend them highly enough . Having decided to move after my husband died they were with me every step of the way and couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Having a lot of problems with the conveyancing was most upsetting and yet nothing was too much trouble for the staff in helping me with the online forms and other problems I encountered with DC Law especially Andy , Chris, Molly and Gemma .

The Wells office team are a great

The Wells office team are a great, friendly and helpful team, the sale and buying of houses went fairly smoothly. I think the whole English system needs overhauling, it's too clunky, long and am sure it's only making money for the legal people. But this is not the problem of agents, who certainly do their best in the circumstances! However, I would NOT recommend using the in-house solicitors etc., not having a face to 'shout' at, and to pop in and ask questions directly to, is really hard. So get your own solicitor!!

What a great experience we had selling our parents’ house. Allen and Harris were totally professional and took all the hassle out of selling a property which is 2 ½ hours away from me. The Matterport walkthrough showed the house beautifully. Allen & Harris did all the viewings - 15 in the space of 2 weeks - and secured a great price for us.
