We moved house in December 2025, selling and buying through Gascoigne Halman, Wilmslow. The team at Gascoigne were always professional, supportive and friendly, from the initial meeting with James, the photographs and listing with Tom's support, through to Isla negotiating the sale for us. Nicola then guided the sale and purchase from agreement to finish. The selling process threw up lots of unexpected obstacles in the chain, and Nicola went above and beyond to make sure that everything moved forward, with open and honest communication. Her persistence helped to ensure that the sale and purchase went through. Thank you to all the team. Highly recommended.

Friendly professional Team

I found the team at Altrincham very professional and friendly. I had lived in my house for 27 years, so I found the whole process really stressful, especially when the first purchaser pulled out of the sale at the last minute. Do NOT recommend Didsbury - my experience has been one of unprofessionalism and downright unethical practice. Told flat would be cleaned. It wasn’t. Didn’t bother to clear previous tenant electric debt. Infested by hornets and ended up in ED. Mould and damp everywhere. Boiler loose on wall. Downstairs tenant said he had had to pay for dehumidifiers and mould treatment himself. Consider saving yourself a lot of grief.

Absolutely terrible experience with this letting agent. After the landlord withdrew an agreed offer, we were left out of pocket and still have not had our deposit returned. Communication has been poor throughout, with constant delays and little accountability. We felt completely unsupported and ignored when trying to resolve the issue fairly. I would strongly advise others to be very cautious before dealing with this agency. They tried to make us send them thousands of pounds with no contract given then last minute withdrew the offer and are refusing to give the deposit back. Absolutely dreadful agency.

Excellent throughout

Absolutely excellent from start to finish of the house sale - one local agent kept phoning to see if we 'had come to a decision to market the property' which lost them any business, whereas GH did the visit to see the place and then said they'd leave us alone and it was up to us to give it the go-ahead or not. No pestering - excellent. Once we gave them the thumbs-up we had a string of viewers within days, and eventually exceeded the guide price by a small margin which suggests the guide price was accurate too. The staff at Gascoigne Halman were always on hand and worked brilliantly, especially Georgia who made sure everyone was kept in touch with any and all news and developments as things progressed, resulting in a sale a fortnight before Christmas which was exactly what buyers and sellers wanted. I would heartily recommend this outift.

Horrible Experience for first time buyer

I had a very disappointing experience buying through the Altrincham office, which would put me off using them again in the future. The whole process took 7.5 months and, while the delays were not Gascoigne Halman’s fault, the way the situation was handled made the experience extremely negative. I was made to feel as though I was in the wrong for asking for clarity by Gascoigne Halman ( Missing documents, lease info, incorrect parking space talked about for months) , and I felt pressured to complete even though my solicitors were advising me not to, i.e. I was called. at 3.45 on Friday saying that if I didnt complete by EOD the seller would put the house on the market. At this point we discrepencies between the sellers documents and the land registry . Overall, this resulted in a very unpleasant experience as a first-time buyer.

Poor service and disappointing behaviour after tenancy agreement

After completing our tenancy with Gascoigne halman. Despite leaving the property in what we believed to be a clean and acceptable condition. We received a £550 deposit claim, including charges for cleaning (£250), decoration and painting (£150), and a radiator leak (£115). I have rented this apartment for 1 year.When we first moved into the property, it was in poor condition and had a noticeable odour. We raised this with the agency several times, but no action was taken.
