Stay away from Avant

*Sales lady at Wilbur Chase was lovely, can't fault her. 2 family members have moved in within the last 6-8 months. The workmanship is terrible and after sales team are full of excuses! Numerous snags reported, and they are still ongoing. One contractor comes and says they can't do what needs snagging because they need another contractor to do something else. The second contractor then damages something else and it's 2 weeks waiting for a part to come. Staying in for contractors who say they're coming then don't turn up. Honestly, stay away from Avant.

Customer Service - Radford Meadows

We are first time buyers that recently bought from the Radford Meadows site. We reserved in March and the plot was ready in June which was the date we were told from the start - so no delays! The buying process was smooth, we did have a few changes in sales advisors that meant we didn’t get updates for a short period of time but that was quickly rectified. The current sales advisor Louise has been a delight to deal with, in our experience she puts the customer first and still continues to check in on you even after completion.The site team we have interacted with so far have been great, all are super friendly and happy to help. We can’t comment on how quickly they deal with snags yet as we have only just completed. However neighbours have passed on positive experiences.

The customer services manager on site (Angela) has been outstanding, always looking after us as first time buyers and ensuring that we were on the right path. No ask was ever too much for her. We viewed and enquired about Avant homes on site on several occasions and it was the arrival of Angela and her infectious enthusiasm, energy and relaxed demeanour that convinced us that this was the house for us.Sadly Angela was not on site for our move in day which could have gone better with no formal handover of keys conducted or the usual welcome ceremony conducted. Welcome box was left on door step with non welcome bow or introduction to our home. Left to enter property as doors were unlocked.

Very welcoming & helpful!!

We attended the open day for the show home at Sherburn this afternoon. Sarah & David gave us a very warm welcome, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Our son loved the treats! Sarah was lovely and made sure to include our son in any discussions aswell. The show home is the best we've seen, the attention to detail and top quality finish were very noticeable. It's nice to see something that's not just the usual run of the mill new build!

Despite having a delayed move into the house, Jake restored all our faith in Avant and has been nothing but outstanding in his service to look after us. He has been there to answer any questions, update us on any things that need doing within the house and checking in to make sure we are okay. If we ever need anything, Jake has been there! First time buyers at Cotchett Village, Derby.

We’ve just bought our first home at Cotchett Village in Derby. Louise was so helpful throughout the whole process, we were always happy to see her and she kept us reassured throughout the whole time, especially during our completion day as we had no clue what was happening!Since being in we are really happy with our little home. Despite living amongst phase 4 being built and other houses (literally next door and opposite) being finished for completion, we are not bothered by the builders or noise one bit. They are all polite and friendly and are always lending a hand. We feel the site managers and builders have gone above and beyond and exceeded our expectations of literally living on a building site. Having read 100’s of reviews about new builds and the bad rep they get, I was so nervous thinking what had we done! But after just over a month, our short snag list is being sorted and worked through so quickly we can’t keep up of who is coming in and out. I think it definetly helps having the builders on your doorstep Monday-Friday, so they’re always around to lend a hand. Tracy in the after sales team has also been so helpful in getting our snags sorted, and we definitely feel valued here. I would recommend buying a house on this estate to anyone based off the experience we have had!

Terrible builder - snags galore

Terrible experience - sales were terrible but we liked the house type and location (Mickleover in Derby)The build was okay, however the site management are USELESS! we reported dozens (nearly 100 snags) and all our neighbours are the same.A year on and we still have snags, including a major one from when we first moved in. The ‘customer service’ manager Nav is possibly the biggest joke of them all, trots around and is completely and utterly terrible. Sadly avant think he’s good! It’s cringeworthy how bad their customer service is!Avoid, despite their build layouts, go with another builder who is reputable and has decent customer service.

Really smooth reservation process

We have just reserved our home and are going through options for personalising it at the moment so we can't speak for the rest of the process yet, but our experience in Ruddington has been super smooth so far. We came in last minute and were given a tour of a couple of homes and decided to go for one as ours sold a couple of days later. The process of viewing and reserving has been smooth and Gavin has been especially helpful and friendly. The documents were all lined up and clear, despite having had the meeting over videocall as this suited my family better. We've bought a newbuild before and the reserving process was definitely far more confusing and difficult with the other builder. Thanks!

Purchase at Cygnet Park, Newcastle

Recently completed on my purchase at Cygnet Park. Great experience and service from my sales advisor Lesley from the start and throughout. I received regular contact by email and phone to update me on the progress of my property. She was always quick to respond to any queries that I had. Site manager Keith and Michelle from customer care have been brilliant since completion. Any issues/snags I had (which have been minor) have all been rectified within 3 weeks of my first home visit. Michelle has checked in often to ensure everything is okay. Whilst Keith was fixing something in my home he made arrangements for some other workers to come out and sort some of the issues I had (they came round within 10minutes which was fantastic). All 3 have been extremely friendly, approachable and happy to help if I need anything. Thank you for making what can be an extremely stressful time, stress-free and exciting!

My visit was excellent due to the warm welcome from Abi and her knowledge

The marketing officer Abi was excellent, having previously provided other information via email. She gave a friendly warm welcome and even provided a drink as we were parched on a hot day at the end of housing development visiting. She answered all my questions and gave me lots of relevant information about the house styles, the phase of the development and other site information. She managed others visiting the site very well, as it was busy, whilst still meeting my needs. She apologised for not being able to provide some printed information as, through no fault of her own, her printer was not working. She has promised to forward them in the post. We were able to view the show home on site after our meeting and would say this was a very successful visit. This visit in total contrast to an earlier visit to another development in Skipton I would give 10/10.

Avant Homes - Market Harborough Tens Lock. I purchased my new home with Amy at Tens Lock in Market Harborough, the whole process was amazing! Unfortunately Covid did delay the build but Amy kept me in the loop throughout the year! The customer serviced from Amy was outstanding!! on completion I met with Amy on site who handed over my keys and gifted me a beautiful Avant Home Move Box!! A lovely gift! Since moving into the property the site manager Lee has been FANTASTIC!!! he even helped me with my empty boxes! I had a slight issue with my Extractor fan in my kitchen, he was straight round to fix the issue! So my previous review was very positive about Avant homes however 10months later I am still awaiting for the faults to be repaired. I am being avoided by the customer care team who doesn’t seems to be bothered about people that moved in 10 months ago but then move on to the ones that recently have moved in. I am so gutted about how Avant decided to treat customers that spend more than £300000 on the house. I will definitely not leave it like this, I will be taking this further as i want people to be aware of it! The customer care team lies to your face and then tries to make you look bad. I am warning new buyers that for the first 4months you will receive good service then after that you will regret that you have spend so much money on a house that have more faults that you can imagine. From an unsafely fitted gas hob, to broken toilet flushes in two bathrooms. When you call them they avoid you! And I am not the only one in Collingsgate there is a chain of people that purchased houses on this estate and now regret it. So disappointed and definitely won’t leave it like this! Outstanding service from start to finish! My husband and I bought an Avant home at Collingsgate, and I must admit that we have never met such an amazing team of people. From the sales team Stephanie and Melanie has been absolutely amazing, giving us regular updates and dealing with our solicitors (which wasnt easy), we have moved in to the property just in time thanks to the ladies, even now i am having regular calls from the team to check if we have settled in, then the after sales team Lauren and Claire and the site managers Paul and Richard, they deserve 5 star review. I will 100% recommend this developer to everyone as comparing to others, these guys stand out. A big thank you especially to Stephanie for being an amazing support throughout the stressful time. Thank you once againWe are delighted with our beautiful house.

Avoid Avant homes at all costs

Well where do I start it’s quite quickly gone from a wonderful fairytale to a nightmare constantly changing completion dates, continues lies, false promises and to top it all off just a pinch of incompetence and false advertisement. To start me an my partner went to Avant and liked everything there was to offer but wanting to move before Christmas was high on are priority list.( we were looking back in October ) We thought we had really struck it lucky when we were informed there was a house available due to a sales fall through an it would be ready to move into within 2 weeks we thought great where do we sign. Fast forward two weeks we have sent over all our documents and passed all the tests with Avant’s approved partners (as this was advised for speed to completion) and were really making progress paperwork wise but the supposedly completed house hasn’t been touched, this is the beginning of the issues so if this happens to you good luck with the rest of your purchase.2 weeks on we’ve been in to select our flooring and had a brief look inside of our new home which the sales team stayed late to get this done but have since left due to Avant having a restructure of staff but then the 2nd lock down has taken hold...... but we’re assured the house is continuing as everybody involved in making a house purchase are continuing to work to covid rules and things are making progress and we’re in full swing with the solicitors but yep you guessed it Avant have still not done anything with the house we’re now in late November so the 2 weeks it will be ready is behind us and we are having to chase up every couple of days as to what’s going on and getting no where my partner complained and was contacted by someone of the Avant regional management variety who gave us all the usual promises of things will be resolved and they are going to focus on getting it sorted for us but another week goes by and our carpets are down we noticed after looking through the window so we managed to speak to someone at the now part time sales office who wasn’t aware this had happened anyway we have still had no communication from Avant even though we made multiple calls to chase things up and was told multiple times they’re going to find out and get back to us which never happened.We’re now at the end of November and we’ve been given a demo day great it’s booked the house is getting signed off imminently and we’re going to be in all be in the 2 weeks looked like 2 months on the calendar but let’s let bygones be bygones.........We’re now today 12/12/2020 and there is no keys in my hand, no sign off, well it’s signed off after my partner had to call Avant twice and both times was told someone would call us back which didn’t happen my partner then had to drive back to the sales office just to find out if the house was signed off which they said yes and the solicitor to be informed that afternoon but Avant have neglected to inform the solicitors this so it’s going to be Monday now before we continue this roller coaster unless there’s something else that’s going to crop up which given the history of this whole experience as a lesson I’m sure there will be but completion looks to be sometime in 2021 after initially being told in ready mid November. To add insult to injury we briefly spoke to the site manager today who seems to be the only helpful person that Avant employee he then informed us off the sign off being complete but was completely in the dark about the demo day that Avant had booked in on their system apparently and the solicitors have also informed us Avant has never intended for completion this side of the new year!Thanks for reading what felt like my life story up to date hopefully this will give you a brief all be it bitter insight into buying a property with Avant. This has been my personal experience with Avant and if I had to do this all over again I would have never even entered the marketing office. My advice is to avoid this company at all costs even if it means renting that little bit longer wait for a more professional firm to start building in your desired area.
