Buying our first home through Miles & Barr

We brought our first home through Miles & Barr Cliftonville, we always found the staff to be friendly & helpful. Whilst arranging viewings staff were very good at finding houses to match our needs as a family. All the staff at Cliftonville office were extremely helpful especially Alice Fridd & the manager Joe Bull. Our review is mainly based on Louise Daly our sales progressor. Louise went above & beyond to help & guide us through the whole process. Due to Covid-19 our sale went over the normal timescales & Louise was amazing throughout the whole process. Louise always replied promptly to my emails & was there to reassure me when it felt like we would never exchange. I am so grateful to Louise for everything she has done for us since our offer was accepted on our first house on February 1st, It is now the end of August & we are finally in our new home!!

We had our property on the market with another estate agent and really struggling to sell. The viewings we were getting were time wasters and the whole situation became very stressful. After viewing a property through Ewe Move, we were so impressed that we decided to have a chat with James and switched our sale to them. Being 7 months pregnant we needed to have a sale quickly but at a good price. Within 2 weeks James has sold our property at a brilliant price. We couldn’t recommend them enough! Professional, and courteous staff. Kristy has been my main contact and has been great at keeping in touch throughout the process which is so important as house buying is generally a stressful experience. So having someone keep us in the loop is really appreciated. The viewing process was very thorough and all questions answered, even ones that Kristy didn't have immediate answer to, she followed up didn't just forget about us.I wish we were selling through Miles and Barr. £60 wheeze to get verified is not helping sell your home

As an investor, their idiotic £60 charge to get a customer verified means I wouldn’t even view a property with them. If looking to use them to sell, don’t, they are clearly more interested in cheap wheezes to make more money than getting the best price for your property. They make enough from their commission to cover this cost.

One star is quite generous

One star is quite generous. I cannot possibly express just bad Miles & Barr are. It would be easy to think this is just a rant from a disgruntled tenant but after the time, money and love that was put into our property we have been treated like something someone has stepped in. We has respect for our home and have looked after it as though it was our own. The outgoing inventory supports this. Throughout the whole tenancy we were constantly praised for how nice, clean and decorated the property was, paid in advance and always kept on top of everythingThey haven’t a clue about the law, children and disabilities. Property managers definitely aren’t employed for their brains nor their experience. Rude, self entitled and so unprofessional. The overall lettings manager struggles with anything that requires important attention and hides behind her computer. We had been warned prior to renting with them that they were a nightmare, however we loved the house and area so took the house. Trying to get anything done is hard work, which is why we did so much as tenants to the property ourselves. If we waited for them each time the house would have gone into ruin! As it is the house was left in immaculate condition and a brand new garden for new tenants to enjoy! Be warned they will actively discriminate against disabled children. As tenants we did everything to the house but we asked for one little arrangement and the agent and landlord thought breaking the law was the better option. Even better was issuing a section 21 in revenge for reporting the discrimination and lying saying the landlord was selling only to see it being re let! Honesty is not Miles & Barr. Also be warned make sure you sign the inventory and record delivery any differences because they will try screwing your over and charging for things that do not appear on the ingoing and outgoing inventory. You have to threaten them with dispute to get your money back. They did this to my neighbour down one and to us.

We used Ewe Move to sell our property and they were amazing from start to finish. Firstly, James was friendly and knowledgeable and he took awesome photos for Rightmove etc (so much so that we thought about staying!). The house was sold for the full asking price within a matter of days and I think this was a combination of James' advice about when and what to advertise, prompt viewing arrangements and a friendly, but non-intrusive sales pitch (as well as the house itself being fabulous). After the offer had been accepted we had more contact with Diane at the Long Eaton Office and she was lovely - quick to respond to emails and calls, reassuring (much needed) when difficulties arose with solicitors and it felt like she was right there with us all the way through to completion. I would definitely recommend Ewe Move to anyone thinking of selling their property and have already given their details to family and friends. Thanks guys!!

Brilliant estate agents & highly recommended! We had great communication from start to finish. Will was accessible at all hours ( even though he was out of the country for some of the time). James was polite & professional when showing us around the property. Diane was the real star!
