I have just received the keys to my great new flat after 5 weeks of searching (and disappointment) with other agents. The staff at Brannens have been wonderful throughout and in particular I cannot praise Liam at Whitley Bay highly enough...he has been professional, kept me in the loop, and added that personal touch when it was needed. His colleagues have also been fantastic, also professional but supportive too. The whole process from viewing to keys was completed in about a week, which is exceptional, and I totally recommend these guys, especially Liam. Thankyou, this flat means so much to me.

I found the service I received from Brannens totally unprofessional. Due to Storm Daragh my flat became uninhabitable and I was left to find temporary alternative accommodation due to the fact my landlord's insurance didn't cover it. Communication throughout this situation was extremely poor. I struggled to get to speak to the property manager whenever I called and responses to my Emails were very slow. It took 10 days for the last one! Plans and progress for the repairs were inaccurate ( I was told it would take a week to dry out the flat and then I would be able to move back in) 6 weeks later the work was still ongoing. I didn't receive regular updates with the progress. Consequently I terminated my contract. As a tenant for 17 years I wasn't shown any respect, care or compassion for what was an extremely stressful situation to be in. Although I terminated my contract on 19th January I am still currently waiting to be reimbursed for the energy costs used by contractors during repair works. Due to my experience I would definitely not recommend Brannens to anyone looking to rent a property.

Last June 30th bought the property we are in, but Brannens were so slow to sell ours I know we said we were not in a hurry but it was so slow. The person that bought our property happen to be passing with husband and dog and they bought it we might as well have done our own selling. Lucie that does the valuations is really good I went through them as she was very professional but the rest dont know what they are doing. A few years ago I worked in an estate agents and Brannens are not top of there game. The biggest thing is communication with every body involved and that doesnt seem to happen they need more training after all to buy a house will be the biggest thing in most peoples life. The reason I am doing this review now is I have been reading other peoples reviews and I have had to say something.

I’ve rented the same property through the lettings team at Brannen & Partners for the last 8 years and they’ve been fantastic! When my oven broke on Christmas Eve they had a guy out with a replacement same day! Emails are always replied to in a good time frame and when I’ve called the office they’ve been really helpful and professional. I recommend them for anyone that’s looking for stress free renting.

From providing guidance and excellent market knowledge they were able to market my property for rental and generate and arrange viewings and get me great tenants within a couple of days. As a landlord my Monkseaton property was managed by Brannen's for 4 years during which there were two tenants who left the property in a filthy and disappointing state which Brannen's described as 'average'. Curtain poles had been pulled down, walls and doors painted on, Sky TV installed without permission and with a lot of damage to walls and skirtings from the back to the front of the house (the property already had cable connected to the main living room). Keys were lost including the fobs for the auto-garage door. Primarily the house was dirty and no attempt had been made to clean, for example, carpets. The toilet had not been cleaned and I thought for awhile I would have to replace it (until I discovered Domestos limescale zero). The basin was blocked and the garden overgrown. My issue is not so much with the tenants, but the way that Brannen's had allowed it to get into this state, and that they considered it acceptable to potentially advertise for a new tenant without a complete clean. Somehow they had not noticed the deterioration during inspection, it was not communicated to me (or the tenants, who ended up losing bond that they could have avoided by maintaining the property better), and they had no records (such as photographs of the interior/exterior) with which to prove which tenant was responsible for what. In response to their reply below: I don't use my real name on social media. The situation was resolved by cleaning it myself, repainting all of the rooms and moving to a different property manager.

Brannen and partners took over the contract for residential management of my apartment block a couple of years ago. Since then, the apartment block itself has not been managed or maintained in any meaningful way: 1. Ongoing ingress of water into stairwell near lift shaft despite complaints over 6 months ago. 2. Apparent repairs of further leaks started 1 year ago and seemingly abandoned; appearance of building is like a building site. 3. Lock was broken by vandals - took 10 weeks for them to repair this. 4. Failed to repair cladding on building, meaning property cannot now have a fire safety certificate (and cannot be listed for sale). Company estimates it will be years before this is corrected. 5. Submitted annual accounts that were completely inaccurate (these are still on companies house 2 years later). Their attitude is a mixture of dismissive arrogance and utter incompetence. The excuses are bloviating and endless. We involved solicitors as the company were so evasive; it took them 10 weeks to respond even to solicitors. They pretended I was the only person in the block complaining, although in fact several had been. I cannot advise more strongly to avoid this company. They are evasive, disorganised, and will do anything to avoid maintaining properties. I can see from online reviews that this is far from an isolated experience.
