Several of our neighbours sold their properties through A J Reid and spoke very highly of their experience with them. So when we decided to sell ours, we thought we would give them a try. We are so glad we did. The team are fantastic - very knowledgeable about the housing market, very friendly to deal with and extremely supportive and helpful. Estate agents generally get a bad press but AJ Reid deserves all the plaudits it receives. I aren't usually one for leaving reviews as such. But after the service I received as a customer from AJ Reid estate agents in Whitchurch. I wanted to share my experience. As it’s not every day you move house. Goes to show that not all estate agents are the same ! The service provided has gone way above and beyond. I mostly dealt with ‘John’ I will absolutely never forget his kindness. He’s an absolute gentleman and extremely good at his job! The purchase along with the sale of my own properly was far from straight forward. Buying & selling during the covid 19 pandemic. Then we had collapsed chains. Along with many more bumps in the road. It was most defiantly a challenge for myself. Every email I sent was responded to promptly and always in a friendly helpful manor. If John wasn’t available they were still always returned by another member of the team. The communication was absolutely fantastic. I was extremely stressed during this move & I honestly mean it when I say that without the support from the staff in this estate agent I think I may of lost my dream home. We were thoroughly disappointed with AJ Reid and would seek to avoid using them when purchasing our next property in the area. We were cash buyers aiming to complete very quickly and agreed a price on a property 3 weeks before Christmas with a view to completing by mid January 2021 (as the vendor then told us she had options to move out at short notice). By mid February (more than 2 months after a price was agreed) AJ Reid had still not taken the For Sale sign down or the property off Rightmove despite requests to do so in January and February, and on a number of occasions promised us next business day updates only for us to have to follow up again an entire week later. We made the difficult decision to pull out ofnthe sale and temporarily rent instead (primarily due to ongoing delays on the vendor's solicitor side), but also due to concerns that the failure to take it off the market might be because the vendor was holding out for a higher price. When we pulled out and as feedback highlighted their continued failure to take the property off the market, instead of acknowledging the oversight we were told that it had turned out to be a good thing, which we thought was incredibly unprofessional.
