Over the years we have bought and sold several properties around the country and used various estate agents. We recently sold 3 properties with Hope & Braim and must say that they are, by far, the best estate agents (and in a different league) to any others that we have experienced. John, Emma and the team are fantastic, from finding good buyers through to pushing the sale through to completion. In particular, their after sales service was noticeable far superior to what we have known before. Emma was brilliant at responding quickly to us when we asked for her to chase buyers/solicitors and at keeping the wheels turning. They really care about getting the sale completed and not just finding buyers and then moving onto the next property. We could not recommend them highly enough.

You have to kiss a few frogs before you find your princ(ess). We had our lovely cottage in Whitby for sale for nearly two years and went through two other estate agents until we gave Emma and Jon at Hope and Braim the assignment. It took them less than two months to agree a sale. Some might say that perhaps the time was just right, but it is our opinion that H&B has a better grasp of the local market and better contacts with potential buyers than we experienced elsewhere. On top of that, their photography was excellent and they always provided feedback after each viewing. All in all, we heartily recommend them!

From the moment we contacted Emma at Hope and Braim, we received excellent service. When Emma attended to complete the valuation, she showed understanding and genuine empathy for our situation, having to sell our family home for over 60 years. Emma & John worked together creating the advert & the sale process began. As I live over six hours drive from Whitby, Emma, John, Leanne and the team facilitated viewings. Keeping me updated with the progress. The fee for all their hard work was very reasonable considering all the work involved. It took slightly longer to secure a buyer than they expected, as the housing market slowed, and two buyers withdrew at last minute, but the team remained determined, and they achieved the sale for us. They have been professional, reliable, shown understanding, been supportive and demonstrated excellent customer service advising, negotiating and selling. Hope & Braim were acting for the sellers of the house we bought, so we cannot comment on the selling aspect. When looking for a house we visited their Whitby office, they were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. They managed to persuade us to view the house that we ultimately bought when, having viewed it on internet property websites, we had previously dismissed it as being unsuitable for our needs. There were a couple of niggles along the chain and Hope & Braim seemed much better informed of the circumstances than our solicitors and were much quicker in passing forward information. We were recommended Hope and Braim by a local resident of Whitby when we were looking for an alternative to the estate agent we were marketing our property with. The original agent lacked a "Walter Mitty" filter and strung us along with offers from dreamers and time wasters. Furthermore their communication was appalling with names misspelt on legal documents and other correspondence. Additionally there was no one point of contact to answer enquiries or concerns. Dealing with Emma and Jon was instantly refreshing despite my initial sceptism based on our experiences with the previous agents. Jon had the property marketed with a truly professional brochure and write-up within no time. A brief telephone chat with Emma answered any queeries I had and we left them to it. Within a month they had sold the property for us, achieving the best price for us from multiple bidders. Emma then managed the sales process to completion. Finally exchanged contracts today and I don’t think it could have happened without the wonderful support we had from Hope and Braim who were our agents.
