Ellie Hodkinson was professional, helpful and really added value to the whole renegotiation/lease renewal process. A great brand ambassador for Marsh and Parsons and delighted to have had her support and guidance during this period - especially as she did all the hard work with the discussions with the tenants and keeping me up to date and informed.

GoogleAVOID AT ALL COSTS, you will be coerced in to signing for a property you don’t want and will also be lied to about the current market.
This is the worst experience I have had with a letting agents, having rented in 2 countries and 6 cities.
Ella Woods was the senior letting negotiator we dealt with at Marsh and Parsons Pimlico branch.
Ella was pushy, forceful and rushed us in to an offer for the flat. The following day Ella stated the property had recieved another offer. She stated in order to secure the property we HAD to up our price of rent AND accept the property part-furnished. As this property was already out of our budget, I explained this wasn’t something I nor my flatmate could do. I was met with exaggerated claims about how lucky we were to have this property as an option, and how we would struggle to get such a property ever again. I explained to Ella we were both young graduates and this was totally out of the budget of two people on a starting salary. She did not listen and fought her case, the analogy she used was, the proposed £20 pw increase when extrapolated to the month was a bag of sweets. She then asked, are you not willing to spend a bag of sweets worth of money to secure your dream flat? Admittedly, I was very surprised at Ella’s frankly patronising analogy and the lack of communication skills. Communication in that, one would hope a senior letting agent can listen to the needs of the client.
Ella also said we should remove our conditions and accept the property part-finished with just beds, sofa and dining table. This was in spite of the fact we wanted a fully furnished flat, for obvious reasons. When I explained this was not what suited our situation, Ella said we had to compromise to secure the house. She broke down the prices of items, she told me I could get a kettle for £9 in sainsburies and a coffee table for £20 in IKEA. While I appreciate Ella educating me on the market price of household items, I was again astounded at the patronising tone and continued unwillingness to listen to our needs and requests. Numerous times I stated this flat was no longer the offer we were advertised yesterday but was met with no understanding.
Ella consistently made exaggerated and false claims about the market, and said we would NEVER find a Pimlico flat for the price and location. Much to my delight we signed for a two bed that week for a furnished flat for a much lower price with an agent that was willing to listen to our budget and needs.
Marsh and Parsons is not the kind of company I would recommend to anyone, due to Ella’s ignorance for our circumstance and coercion in offering a flat.NegativeProfessionalism

Hi there, we are sorry to hear that you are not happy with your experience. The agent working with you was keen to help you secure the property that you wanted, and her knowledge of the current lettings market means that she knew an offer would have to be made promptly if you wanted to make one. As it received competing offers, your offer would also have had to be improved in order to be accepted. We are sorry that we were unable to help you further in your property search, your comments have been noted although we would like to note that we are confident our agent acted professionally at all times. Kind regards, Marsh & Parsons

TrustpilotMeilssa Polvan
Meilssa Polvan, an agent at Marsh and Parsons gave me good advice for saving money by saying to get my friend to move my stuff as opposed to hiring a removals company but she was expecting me to cover the void period of £250 for the landlord. Her justification for the latter is '£250 is not a lot of money'.Furthermore, Melissa Polvan was very pushy in getting me to sign the contract using manipulative means amongst other things were were distasteful.Stay well away from March and Parsons.

Hi Vishal, we are sorry that you are not happy with your experience. We would like to note that our tenants do not cover any costs outside of those stated in the contract, and refute your claim that you were asked to cover a void period unnecessarily. We pride ourselves on our customer service standards- if you had raised any concerns while renting the flat through us two years ago we would have been more than happy to address them. Kind regards, Marsh & Parsons

GoogleWorst ever real estate agency. I understand why it is one of the oldest agency with such doggy practices ...
They asked for a long term lease which I agreed at that time but things changed and I had to break this lease. Despite having finding new tenants after 2 weeks they charged me 10% of the rent until the end of my lease for commission fees (2975 gbp!) on top of other charges like "tenancy break admin" (150gbp), "New tenant referencing" (162 gbp), "New tenancy agreement charge" (225gbp) ...
When challenging them about the reason of that commission, they just copy/paste what I had to sign in the contract:
"29.2 If the Tenant vacates the Property during the Term, the Tenant will remain liable to pay Rent and any other monies payable under this Agreement until the Term expires or the Premises are re-let whichever is earlier, whether or not the Tenant chooses to continue occupying the Property. If the Property is re-let during the Term, the Tenant will reimburse the Landlord for any letting agents’ fees or other reasonable costs incurred from that point until the end of the Term. This will include a deduction to compensate the Landlord for any Letting Commission charges payable to Marsh & Parsons for the period of the Term in which Rent was not received as a result of the Tenant terminating the Tenancy in a manner contrary to the Terms of the Tenancy Agreement. For the avoidance of doubt this clause shall not take effect where the Tenant is operating a break clause contained in this Agreement. "
The reasonable costs incurred are in fact 10% (is that reasonable seriously?) Also if you knew the percentage, why is it not properly mentioned in the contract?
Furthermore, given the new tenant will pay also the 10%, it implies that Marsh & Parson receives twice this commission fee ...
To resume, the agency asks you for a long term contract but if you break it before, they will ask you 10% until the end of the agreed contract even if you find new tenants (who will pay these 10%) and pay for the admin costs.
Melissa Polvan who now works in another department did not tell us the truth about that charge and does not answer anymore.
Future tenants, I more than encourage you to deal with smaller real agencies with fairer business values.

TrustpilotWe recently purchased a property…
We recently purchased a property through Marsh and Parsons Willseden Green. We dealt with an agent called Henry who was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process! Initially Henry showed us a few different properties to try and get a feel for what we wanted, we found him to be very knowledgeable about all the properties and when he wasn't sure about something, would get back to us promptly with the information. We always felt like Henry would show us properties that we would actually be interested in, not just anything in our price range. We had obviously seen properties through other estate agents, but Henry was by far, the best of the bunch and personable. Even when we had to take a break because of lockdown Henry was patient, didn't bombard us with calls and emails and actually contacted us back when we said he should! We would thoroughly recommend him and will be contacting Marsh and Parsons again when we decide to sell.

TrustpilotDishonest, Negligent, and Entirely Landlord-Focused
My experience with Marsh and Parsons has been appalling. Over the past 18 months, I’ve dealt with rodent and moth infestations, a persistent damp and black mould issue, and numerous unresolved maintenance problems. Despite raising these issues repeatedly, they remain neglected. The letting agent has repeatedly misled me by claiming they’ve contacted the landlord or are taking steps to resolve the problems, only for me to find out later that no action has been taken. They make vague statements to create the illusion of progress but fail to deliver. Their clear priority is serving the landlord’s interests, not addressing tenant concerns.Adding to the frustration, the high turnover of letting agents means communication is a constant challenge. Tenants are left to manage their own follow-ups and re-explain issues to new staff, resulting in repeated miscommunication and delays. It’s exhausting and completely unprofessional. When I requested compensation for my belongings damaged by damp, they outright refused on the basis I don’t have a receipt and this is not in line with their policy. The landlord also refused the request on the basis I could’ve stored items elsewhere in the house, further enforcing the lack of usability of my living space. Contrasting this, they are quick to enforce trivial matters like grass length or act promptly when an issue affects the landlord’s property insurance. This blatant double standard is unacceptable.I would not recommend Marsh and Parsons to anyone seeking a reliable or tenant-focused letting agent. Their dishonesty, neglect, and poor communication make renting through them a miserable experience.I am extremely surprised by the volume of 5 star reviews and question the integrity of these.
