Foxtons is based on series of lies if you go mortgage

Foxtons is based on series of lies, if you obtain mortgage based on their assurances(lies), you lose valuation fee, solicitor fees and other fees, and you are going to be ditched legally, very very careful when handling with them zero ethics, also they force you to go with their recommended solicitors unless you go with them your purchase will be under threat(that is what foxtons indirectly tells you, unless you are corrupt like them, you will be cheated)

Lauren Bungisa - the most supportive & helpful property manager we've had in our 2-year tenancy

Our experience with Foxtons in general has not been the best - inventory given to us a week after we've moved in, damaged items missed off the inventory such as our fridge not working and balcony door broken, not knowing who the utility suppliers were, incorrect information given to us regarding what bills we were paying, frequent turnover of property managers so it's always someone new who doesn't know what's going on with the property and previous agreements so it's a lot (I mean a lot) of back and forth. It's been a mess.In the midst of all this, it was only Lauren who made us feel her genuine concern and was chasing up our concerns with both landlord and building managers (re: broken lifts, bills). She's chased things up even when we have not thought to do so, she's brilliant! It's a shame we've only had her in the last quarter of our tenancy.

Failed to repay deposit

Two months after the end of a short let Foxtons still hadn't returned the deposit and failed to answer all correspondence. No issues or deductions have been suggested; they simply don't respond and I had to raise a dispute under the deposit protection scheme.

If you want to be treated with pity

If you want to be treated with pity - this is your agency. An agent tilted their head and explained to me in a condescending manner that there is nothing within my budget (despite having multiple properties advertised online in my budget). I was made to go to their office and the most they did was show me a video of a property in an area I have never been to and never considered. The argument for me to like the property was "A doctor and his wife live there". Waste of time.Found a property below my budget within a week.

The worst agents I’ve ever had the misfortune of encountering. They try and maintain a pretence of professionalism but fail to do basic things like respond to emails and phone calls or show you properties that you are actually interested in. It took several weeks of emailing, calling, requesting viewings on their website, and then eventually going into their office to discover that the property I wanted to see had already been rented and they hadn’t even bothered to remove the listing. I would advise any students to avoid them, they won’t respect you or your time.

Moved to property, was lied to about the owner wanting me to be his tenant by one staff member, property was not cleaned (filthy) not unfurnished, over 50 visible acre raw plug holes in walls, broken windows, broken taps, mould in bathrooms, a nightmare under the shower tray, everything was terrible, I asked if there was anyway I could not take the flat - foxy is said no in a contract - basically no rights as tenant,Spent 2 weeks cleaning and putting right, foxtons gave some spill about brilliant landlord - complete nonsense, been charged full rent, paid 5k + to get a flat & had to clean someone else’s dirty toilets, kitchens etc etc, remove rubbish - complete nightmare, the inventory by Storm inventories was a complete lie - made the flat out to be clean which made me liable for the mess - I sent over all the photos and now the inventory is getting amended - what a joke, don’t rent of Foxtons because you are not guaranteed as promised a professional cleaned place, the staff tell lies about how they property manage, they take your money and leave you in the dirt… literally… I’m hearing similar stories and seeing similar reviews, plus same experiences with their contractors who are unprofessional. After seeking further information I was within my rights to not move in, but Foxtons had categorically told me I had to, check your tenancy and don’t take the place if it is not 100% correct.

Colossal waste of time, completely unprofessional

Foxtons will act like a beacon of professionalism when you first get in touch, arranging multiple viewings in your price range, and offering to transport you around various properties, but when you actually get round to said viewings, you quickly realise what a sloppy, unprofessional and uncourteous service you're dealing with.The first big bugbear for me was the fact the estate agent kept answering calls during our viewings, and spent a vast portion of the viewing times talking to other clients, which we found incredibly impolite and lacking in professionalism. To the point that he would suddenly stop talking to us mid-conversation to attend to his calls, no apology given. Yes, I get that estate agents are busy people but this behaviour left us feeling like a bit ridiculous and like we were a complete non-priority. This was our viewing time, which we'd taken time out of our work schedules for, so I would have expected a more attentive and respectful service.Then there was the issue of trying to place an offer on a flat, which was provisionally accepted...only for us to be completely ghosted by the landlord a few days later. The day after the landlord agreed to our offer, we still hadn't heard anything back from Foxtons, and chased it up, only to be told that the landlord "wasn't answering their calls or emails". We contacted them the next day and were told the exact same spiel. It then got to four days later and we still heard nothing. We told Foxtons that we could read the writing on the wall, and would appreciate some firm confirmation that we need not waste any more time holding out for the landlord. Their response was basically "yeah, I wouldn't bother if I were you" along with an attempt to foist a different, rubbish and overpriced flat no one else onto us. We then found a couple of other flats we liked the look of and asked to arrange viewings for one. Foxtons arranged a viewing for us, only to cancel on the morning of the viewing, at very short notice. They told us that property had already been let out for a couple of hundred pounds more than originally advertised. This transpired to be a lie as we saw the property still being advertised for another few days, but at 1k more than the original price! They also went completely silent about the two other flats they had allegedly arranged to show us and basically ended up ghosting us. Not sure what the hell Foxtons were playing at there, but we didn't appreciate their dishonesty and appalling lack of professionalism.In short, don't waste your time with Foxtons unless your stinking rich because they couldn't care less otherwise.

Full of spam listings

When you search for short let in central london, half of the listings are foxtons listings. And the guy who deals with short listings answer all enquiries the same way.Oh thats gone but we have this. Their available offerings are never good value when compared to their fake listings.This is not a single listing experience. Maybe 10s of listings I had the same response. Its always the same for months.Basically I try to avoid their listings always due to this experience.I do recommend people looking for a place to rent simply discard their listings to not to waste time.

I really appreciate the efforts, the professionalism, the persistence from Emi. Conversations with Emi started early and it feels nice. He was never pushy. He shared his market reading. When the job kicked off he was really into it. Despite a challenging market he wasn't giving up (a lot of agents do). The communication from him had always been straightforward, short and concise, logical. Unlike many agents who simply relay the price or market pressure, Emi acted like a real trade man who has his own professional judgement and understanding based on trade knowledge and experiences. I didn't end up the deal with Emi, which was a shame, as lots of factors play a role in such a deal. But I respect agents like Emi, and would like to rate him for his help. Strongly recommend.

Not worth the higher fee

We recently sold our house with Foxtons. We were convinced to go with them despite the higher fee because they gave us the hard sell on foot traffic that they see and number of listings that they had at the time. We were selling shortly after buying for personal reasons and so knew we wouldn't recoup all of our money. Hussain Qazalbash had agreed to market it at a certain price (which we knew we wouldn't get). The very first day the house was listed he recommended dropping the asking price by £100K.This came as a great shock. It felt like he had agreed a price that he knew would get us to sign with Foxtons and from that point we were locked in for at least 14/16 weeks given the terms and conditions. Either the knowledge of the market was lacking (which given the Foxtons premium you would expect them to have) or they knew they would recommend such a drastic drop and just wanted us to be locked in so we had no realistic choice of going elsewhere.To their credit the number of vieweings was good and we did receive some offers. This is why they are getting 2 stars rather than none. However I found out that part of the house (attic) which was a big part of the potential of the house was not being shown to potential buyers. After the offer was accepted Hussain never really got in touch again and he was very difficult to get hold off. At one point I had to chase via email and phone messages for a week for an update.Foxtons is good for a quick sale but not if you need to be hand held through the process or want to feel like a valued customer. I do not think their higher fees are worth it and will not be using them again. I would urge others to avoid as well.
