real lack of service/ communication

awful, I have been trying to speak to someone from the sales team for months. they say the same script every time I call "this is lettings, leave your details and sales will call you back". They never do. I actually want to purchase a property, why wont they talk to me? I can see the property just sitting there and every time I ask if it's still available they say it is. But I never get further than that with them.

As a first-time buyer, I found the entire process of purchasing a flat quite stressful. However, James from Dexters went above and beyond to make things easier for me. Even though it wasn’t his official role, he worked tirelessly to smooth the communication between me and the seller. Without his intervention, I’m not sure if the exchange of contracts would have happened, as things were constantly delayed on the solicitors’ side. Whenever there was a problem, I could simply call James, and he would step in to resolve the situation quickly. He was always available, and professional throughout the process. Monika has been managing my flat for rent for the last year or so. She has always been friendly, responsive and proactive, communicated regularly by email and by phone and I have been able to feel the flat is in good hands. Unfortunately I had a leak at my flat which I let out through Dexters. Monika has been incredibly efficient in resolving this - chasing the managing agent to find the cause of the leak, following up and arranging for it to be fixed and then looking into redecoration which needs to be claimed on the buildings insurance, as well as liaising with and reassuring the tenant and keeping me informed. Recently I had an issue with an appliance at one of my rented properties, Nabil Subhani dealt with back and forth between his maintenance team, the tenant, the insurance company and directly with me. In all the time. Dealing with the matter, Nabil was responsive to all matters in an extremely efficient and timely way. Proactive communication and empathy

Proactive communication, empathy and transparency are three core values I have seen demonstrated at Dexters. I have rented a home through them for nearly two years, and they have stood out as property managers that actually care. Most recently, Daragh Power has impressed me with their kindness and genuine care. I had two requests of the landlord, one that would require a change to my contact, and Daragh was AMAZING at listening to my needs, understanding the time sensitivity and following up with the landlord when we didn’t receive a response right away. They could have deprioritised my concerns or have gotten upset with my persistence but instead they understood where I was coming from and really advocated for me. This is exactly what one would want from a property manager, but is something I find is rare, especially in a ‘landlord market.’ Daragh communicated professionally throughout and made the entire process stress free. I wouldn’t choose another property manager besides Dexters.

This review is in particular for Dexter's Lee.If you think all Estate Agents in Lee are the same,then Dexter's Lee is definitely different. very different,in fact they could contend for the worst estate agency in England. I would highly recommend to anyone buying or selling through Dexter's Lee to contact me. The team, and in particular the sales team are money oriented. They will provide all sorts of distorted facts to make you list their property through them and whilst buying ,all sorts of lies without any moral conscience will be told. Their costs are higher than other than other estate agents who provide a far more personal service. This agency strives on the Dexter's brand but having dealt with Dexter's in other parts,I can easily vouch that they are the worst and most unprofessional. Please do your research before listing your property,buying and even thinking of renting out through them. They will completely ignore any of your requests or their duties as long as they can make their commission. As stated I am ready to help and discuss in more detail on why to avoid this agency

Jemima Laurence from Dexters showed my husband and I around a few properties to buy for our daughter’s first flat last Monday. From initial email contact, through to actually viewing the properties, everything was seamless and professional. Jemima was super organised when we met, with a copy of the house brochures ( I like those instead of everything online) with extra detail she had added, like length of leaseholds and the tenancy details. She knew so much detail about every property and confidently answered any questions we had. I was super impressed she knew her stuff and it gave us confidence in the properties. Jemima offered to drove us around all the flats which really helped as I was tired after a long day of viewing. She was lovely and chatty and friendly and knew the area like the back of her hand, where the best restaurants were, etc. and all the underground lines from the tube stations! Super impressive. 😀 I would highly recommend her to anyone I know looking for a property and will definitely hook up with her again when we buy our next property for our son. Daniel's customer service is great

Before Daniel F joined the team I struggled a bit with Dexters (hence the 3 stars). Often things would not be done, people wouldn't log when there had been a visit to my flat so more would be booked in and there were lack of updates at times which felt frustrating. However after dealing with Daniel F it feels like things are changing for the better and if I had always dealt with Daniel I would prob give Dexters a 5 star rating. Great customer service, always keeps me informed and gets things moving which I really appreciate!

Acted illegally

Did not follow process and illegally cut off our services and sent a checkout clerk to our home while we’re still living there. They gave him a key and advised him to enter the property despite us repeatedly and clearly communicating when our leave date was. We had to report them to the local council and open an investigation. They had our council tax and water cut off and then accused us of not paying our bills despite repeatedly trying to rectify their mistake. Cutting utilities is treated as harassment and unlawful eviction under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977. Under this act, it is a criminal offence for a landlord or agent to interrupt or cut off electricity, water, or gas to make a tenant leave. Specific estate agent that caused us these issues is Fahima Miah, Senior Property Manager.
