Rex Gooding stood out to me and my husband due to their ethical business practices. We found them truthful, direct and respectful. It was obvious early on, they keep a good relationship with their landlords and their contractors because our tenancy was smooth and they were able to flex to our needs. The landlord was happy to make adaptations to the property for me due to my health, no issues. They fitted cute taps that I could use with ease. From booking a viewing, to applying for tenancy, they were methodical, compared to other agencies who ghost you for the highest bidder. Rex Gooding should be praised for that alone. We got a beautiful little house in the countryside and didn’t have to fight for it like a pack of wolves. Simple paperwork process. With lots of communication along the way to keep us informed. They also have a fair repairs service - with accurate time lines, all online but they are contactable directly if you’re in a panic (they really do get a contractor when they say they will!) The staff when you call them; are helpful the moment you get through to them either by phone or email. E.g We accidentally set our security alarm off and it was blaring but they calmly told us the code to turn it off, there and then. Emma was our first point of contact. Highly responsive, friendly- she went above and beyond to help us out. Consistently. Me and my husband haven’t and wouldn’t pick another Lettings agency.

Quick responses, friendly staff

My experience so far with Rex Gooding has been nice. We moved into their property some months ago, and I must confess that the time between the inspection and collection of keys was so quick. Most recently we had Eryn (one of their staff) come over to the house for an inspection. Eryn was very polite and super friendly. She carried out the task quickly and professionally. Based on these experiences, I will definitely recommend Rex Gooding.

No use of shower or bath for 5 days so far due to a leak!

On Monday afternoon there was a leak after I’d taken a shower. I reported this straight away on their online system along with a the hot tap being broken and unusable in the kitchen. I was told not to use the only shower and bath in the property until it’s fixed. Since then I have chased it up twice and let them know both times that unable to have a shower or bath and I’m unable to use the hot tap in the kitchen. It’s now Saturday evening and I’ve still not heard from the contractor that will be be fixing it. Why is it not being treated as more of a priority?

By far the worst company I’ve had to deal with in a long time. You’d think they’d only been in the business for a week. Complete lack of customer service and empathy. “Rex Gooding (owner) 7 hours ago We are sorry that you have been inconvenienced by the fact that we have had to change the lock to the site of 20 garages in Beeston where you occupy 1. We did this due to complaints about unauthorised entry as the previous managing agent had not recovered keys from former tenants. We have given you one month’s notice to collect keys and you failed to do this. Further to this, your recent correspondence suggests that you were responsible for breaking the new lock, which is entirely unacceptable” Reply to Rex: Thanks for your reply Rex, in one fell swoop you’ve reinforced my original review, lack of customer service obviously comes from the top! Maybe you shouldn’t have a drink before replying to customers (assumption based on the fact this reply was received 11PM Friday night)! You are correct in thinking the that reason for this review is the complete mismanagement of the changing the lock to the communal gate enclosing the site of the garages where I am a tenant. If you actually took the time to check your records you will find that I have collected my key. By your own admission you have locked 7 OTHER tenants out of accessing their garage, one of which you have no contact details for, which last time this happened resulted in one lock getting damaged and the other lock had the code maliciously changed preventing access to all. The reason for my correspondence was to point out that your latest action COULD result in the same happening again, giving people 45 minutes notice to collect a key is pretty unreasonable. That is if they get the email, as I pointed out a while ago gmail flags your company emails as spam so there is every likelihood they are not receiving them! The reason I felt the need to post a review was that during this whole saga your company has tried to lay blame elsewhere when it is in fact down to yourselves. YOUR COMPANY has been flagged as sending Spam Emails with google preventing correspondence reaching tenants. YOUR COMPANY failed to compromise in any way requiring tenants to travel to the other side of town to collect keys. YOUR COMPANY distributed keys to tenants without reinforcing the instruction they should not be used until all keys have been collected. YOUR COMPANY gave 45 minutes notice of another lockout to 7 tenants. To top it off YOUR COMPANY is falsely accusing a customer/tenant of criminal damage in a public forum! You couldn’t make this up! But of course, none of this is your fault!

If you have a good landlord, you’ll be fine. As a management company, they’re terrible. Communication is almost non-existent, they leave everything to the last minute, and if a contractor does a poor job, they’ll side with the contractor. I had a hole in my roof that caused mould and all sorts of issues for eight months before they sent someone to fix it and that only happened because I contacted the landlord directly. Avoid

We've used this local estate agents for our last two house moves, and once for buying a property. From the beginning of the exercise, from the initial visit to discuss the sale and value of the property, until the final move of exchange of contracts and completion, I cannot speak highly enough of the outstanding service we have received from Rex Gooding. I have viewed a property with Rex Gooding today and they have been fantastic; really friendly and professional. We have viewed two properties with them this week. The viewings were well organised and all our questions were answered. The application process for the property was online and easy to complete. Our latest viewing was done by Emma Sanderson, who was really lovely and answered all of my questions. Rex Gooding acted on behalf of the house we were purchasing. Updates from Lauren and the team were regular and always ahead of the estate agents I sold my property with. I believe Lauren did all that she could in order for us to complete before our mortgage offer expired, which in the current climate has saved us a lot of money compared to if we hadn't have met the deadline.
