I would highly, highly recommend Harwoods! A few years ago we needed a valuation of the house for probate. The kindness, compassion, knowledge and professionalism that we received from Mike at a difficult time is what made me turn to them again more recently to sell the house after moving my mum into a care home. Phil has shown just as much care, attention and understanding and has been highly instrumental in what has turned out to be a long process; chasing buyers/solicitors and guiding and keeping me fully informed throughout. We have had to conduct this from afar and they have both kept an eye on the property, helping resolve any issue that arose and recommending other local companies that they work with when it was needed. I have had bad experiences with estate agents, but I must say Harwoods has an excellant service and go beyond and above. My property was vacant and they went in and checked when asked. Provided me with 3rd party contractors to do some work and I felt they told me truthfully about the value, timing of sale and not what I just wanted to hear. Harwoods estate agents are absolutely amazing and without a doubt the best I've ever dealt with.! Our sale was a complicated one, as we were selling to pay for my Mum's medical care and we lived over 86 miles away from the property. Yet Mike and Phil could not do enough to help and support us. Everything we asked of them was done straight away (and we asked for more than most) and there was no ask of them, that was too big. We felt supported and guided through the whole process and they found a buyer within the first three viewings. They were ultra responsive and kept us informed of exactly what was happening at each stage. I do not recommend this company at all. They do not look after the best interests of their customers. We've had a situation where one of their surveyors has unnecessarily over valued a property despite this being an arms length transaction and us paying the asking price which has resulted in additional costs and losing our mortgage. This is a one-off uncommon occurrence and assumed the only reason for this is to undermine a competitor which is completely unprofessional. The report also contained additional errors including the type of tree, sewage arrangements etc proving this guy does not have a clue what he is doing. I tried to discuss this with the company but they were not interested in assisting or helping me with this matter. I am disappointed with this company and I would certainly not recommend.
