I phoned and booked an appointment with them for Tues last week to discuss the possibility of selling my house. My friend and I arrived at the correct time day only to find the door to the estate agents locked. Once the doors were opened, we were told I was not in the diary, and therefore, they couldn't help. We left . I double-checked my app, and it was OK. This estate agent didn't have the courtesy to call me and apologise for their mistake. We went to Longstons and found them to be professional and helpful in dealing with us. They have arranged to view my house this week. Not likely to go to Sowerbys again. Ann Stark

In this market it is vital to have an agent you can trust to be working hard to sell your home at its full value - not aiming to get a quick sale just to take the commission. I looked forward to weekly updates from Louie White. His friendly voice detailing what the branch was doing to get potential viewers in the door, taking a genuine interest in our family and life. We instructed Sowerbys to sell a property following a bereavement and a visit from the Sales Director who told us of the excellent service that Sowerbys would provide. Sadly the service did not match the promises. This property is over 90 minutes from where we live so we were dependant on Sowerbys handling everything relating to the property sale. Promised call backs were not received, the Watton/Dereham office (these offices seem to work together and help each other out) had to be chased for information and reminded that they had promised an update. When we spoke to staff they were very helpful and polite but it was very frustrating having to chase them for promised updates, even a phone call saying they had nothing to report would have been preferable to silence. The promised meter readings that we requested on completion day have still not been received over 2 weeks later despite requesting these again by email. Unfortunately I suspect that now the sale has gone through we do not matter anymore. I don't think Sowerbys did a worse job than any other agents locally but equally I don't think they provided the service we expected or were promised
