I was spoken to quite rudely on the phone with agents pushing for an earlier viewing or just scheduling a viewing without asking for availabilities. I have told agents multiple times to stop calling me but this was not heard. I even removed my information from the portal and noted that I am no longer looking for a property. I still receive 3-4 calls a day whilst informing them that I do not want to rent through them.

Foxtons Letting Commission…

Just to share my experience and warn anybody thinking of using Foxtons letting services. Foxtons will be vey happy to take full year commission in advance but if your tenant moves out before the full year period, Foxtons will not refund your commission in cash but just leave the amount as a credit in your account even you no longer have the intention to rent out your property. Area director of Foxtons claimed that this is in line with Foxtons terms of business. Beware before you choose Foxtons letting services.

I truly do not understand who in their right mind has ever rated Foxtons 5 stars. Unfortunately I have been in contact with them at multiple occasions but I am happy to say that today was the last. They arrange viewings for properties that has already been let, WHY not cancel if anything happened between the time of booking and the viewing actually taking place. This seems to be a common occurrence for Foxtons. Other than that, the agents are the rudest human beings I have ever spoken to. Surely I’ve not been unfortunate enough to have come across the ONLY employees at Foxtons that hate their jobs so this seems to be a big issue over there. When calling it seems as though you just ruined their entire day. I’m SORRY I was interested in the properties you have listed, that by the way isn’t even available. If calls like these are a displeasure to the agents I would suggest removing the ads.

Incompetence and lies on a legendary scale!

I had my property up for sale with Foxtons, an offer collapsed, and so I decided to consider rental. After I spoke to the rental department, they took a renter into my property without my permission, hadn't even signed a contract. Luckily, the person liked it and offered a good rent. The agent lied to the renter and me, messed up three contracts, so by the time he signed the fourth contract on my behalf, the renter had been in my flat for 10 days. Lucky he signed! He told me that I could not protect the deposit...lie. He told me that the second 6-month rent payment would be paid on the fourth month...lie. And it was not paid in advance on the 5th month like every other agent; the tenant is now late with the second 6-month payment. I complained to the manager, but he ignored my complaints. The whole office is corrupt. Really, do yourself a favour, there are good letting agents out there, Foxtons is not one of them.

I would strongly advise to steer well clear of anything related to Foxtons (which I myself will be doing). We were looking to rent a property and found the ideal place which was being marketed by Foxtons. Foxtons operate on the basis of terrible communication and lots of pressure and frankly total unprofessionalism. We were contacted at 1pm on a Weds and told there were two offers on the table, both so similar that the landlord couldn't decide. So to decide, the best thing Foxtons could think of was to send both offerors the tenancy agreement at 3pm and whoever signed it and paid the deposit first would get the property. No chance to review the tenancy agreement first of course (despite it resulting in an obligation to pay several thousand pounds a month in rent). I suggested the obvious solution would be to do one final round of offers to see if either party could improve but was told this wasn't possible as we'd already done "best and finals" - news to me, as I'd so far made a first offer. I even made a higher offer there and then on the phone to secure the property but was told this wasn't possible. In the end, the other offeror signed and paid within 9mins (good luck to them) and I missed out but felt a huge sense of relief and with hindsight am very glad. Totally unprofessional to operate in such a way and to leave easy money on the table. Other landlords should take note.

STAY AWAY!! I first put my property on rent with foxtons. the manager at the Margot told me as this was the second property I was letting with Foxtons there would be no charges for 6months. This was a tactic to get my business as when the tenant was found they only wanted a 6 month let. I was told the next tenancy the discount would be applied. However, when the time arrived Margot stopped responding and then I was told that the deal was finished and they could not uphold this. As they ( Charlie) found tenants I went to foxtons again, big mistake. The tenants were awful and Foxtons did not help at all. Once Foxtons took over £5k for their fees from the rent they did nothing to help the situation with the tenants. The tenants then tried to place legal action based on misrepresentation of the property that Foxtons advertised. When I alerted Foxtons , Foxtons have tried to put the blame back on myself. I have asked for the managers details 3 time via email but still do not get it. I have request a SAR so awaiting this as Foxtons has said I did not inform them that the roof was not demised the flat ( which I did numerous times). All I have asked Foxtons for was to refund me the fees from now til the end of the tenancy so the tenants can leave ( as this is their preference) but Foxtons refuse. Honestly stay away.

New X Foxtons is appalling

New Cross Gate letting office is appalling. I had a misfortune to invite them a few years back for valuation and then when changed my mind, asked them to delete me from their database as wasn't planning to do anything with my house. And guess what every year I am receiving unsolicited calls inquiring about valuation, letting, selling. They promise to delete my number every time they call once every half a year in average, pathetic.

I would give no stars if I could. I left my flat over a year ago. I now live in Australia and despite MULTIPLE phone calls and emails asking them to NOT email me about the rental payment I am still receiving them every month. I’ve spoken to multiple people on the phone, some clearly clueless, some actually wanting to help and still NO ONE has resolved the issue. Where can I start. Alexander went above and beyond and only showed us amazing properties. Seriously, he didn’t miss once! As 1st time buyers we felt overwhelmed with everything but the support on each step helped us overcome our reservations and everything became clear very fast. From mortgages to legal advice we were covered. If you’re looking for a Putney property do your selves a favour and just speak to him directly. The “going the extra mile” approach is much appreciated. PS: I’m trying hard to find something negative to add to the review in order to balance it but seriously, I can’t find anything.
