We had a fantastic experience with Stonehouse Homes when selling our two-bedroom property in Walton-le-Dale, and we would have no hesitation in recommending them. We dealt mainly with Karen throughout the sale, and she was brilliant from start to finish. The sale itself was far from quick, but that was certainly no fault of Stonehouse Homes. Karen remained helpful, professional and approachable throughout what was, at times, a frustrating process, and we always felt that we were kept informed and supported. One thing we particularly liked was being able to communicate with the team via WhatsApp. It made asking questions, getting updates and keeping in touch so much easier and more convenient than having to rely solely on phone calls and emails. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better estate agent. A friendly, professional and genuinely helpful team, with excellent communication throughout. A special thank you to Karen for all her hard work in getting the sale over the line!

I did not know that I had given a 1 star but this must have been a total mistake as I did not even know how to give a review .. my rating for stone house is a 5/5.. I've never had a problem that hasn't been solved within 48 hours. The maintenance men are amazing and Karen is lovely. Very accommodating and absolutely lovely. I have no idea why there was a 1 star but this is certainly not the case with StoneHouse and id like to stay a tennant with them with moving house in the future. Thank you guys. :)

Came across this estate agent whilst looking for a holiday let in the Preston area. kristiana (think that was her name) was really helpful and pleasant on the phone, arranged a few viewings the same afternoon. First couple of properties were a bit run down and in need of some tender loving care. Not what we were looking for, but the third was nearly perfect. From that moment on the whole process went smoothly and to my surprise very quickly. A very big thank you to Mark and his team and we are really looking forward to our first customers.

The team have been great from the beginning to end. Answered all questions we had. We was smoothly guided through all paperwork that needed signing. Excellent service. Since moving into the house. We had some problems. Like the the doors handles are all breaking. Trying to have a normal conversation with Stonehouse is impossible. They are rude and the job that's been done on the bathroom is awful workmanship. They have put a odd door on. Left big gaps in between the tiles and door casing.

Wouldn’t recommend. Bought a property with this estate agents. Process took 7 months for what should have been a relatively straight forward no chain property (full accept they have no control over the length of time this took) however… Upon calling the office my offer was spoken about quite rudely while they believed I was on mute. I was accused of not instructing my solicitors, when I had, threatening to tell the seller - followed by no apology, just an oops mixed up clients. The listing included incorrect information and was heavily photoshopped of material things like the entire kitchen sink. I was told I don’t understand how the process works, more than once. Told me my survey was pointless and I should just listen to the banks valuer… Upon completion day I arrived quite excited to the office only to be chucked a pair of keys and a half arsed card and sent on my way with no ‘thanks’ nothing. I didn’t expect a fan fare but I am deeply disappointed in the level of care and service provided to me as a buyer. At least they got paid.

Shambolic reporting faults procedure, left me without a cooker for 12 months, took the drive so that they could park on it for themselves or I had to pay an extra £50 on top of the rent if I wanted the drive even though I had lived there 5 years and the drive was included when I rented the property and when I asked to speak to the landlord they were defensive of the parking straight away. reported numerous time about the outside drain pipe and was told to buy a part even though I explained it was broken since I moved in and also broken from within the wall, the arial connection socket is that old it can’t be used and will need ripping out so the electrician told me. left me with broken radiators and without heating for 2 years, apparently they sacked the previous complaints staff member (Jed) , reported numerous times that the black grass underlay was not put down properly and therefore weeds are constantly growing through the stones. The patio doors had broke and they sent a locksmith that just moved the middle hinge to the bottom and didn’t actually come back to finish the door so left me very unsecured in the property with hinges missing from both front and patio doors. They cut the privacy tree in the garden down and with it broke my fence lights, fence decor, washing line and bird feeders and just left them all over the garden along with all of the tree debris, when questioned about it the manager seemed to find it amusing and also the contractor explained that the manager had my consent to destroy my outdoor lights, wall decor and washing line which was absolutely not the case. Now the company is trying to be hard work and refusing my full deposit back to me because I apparently left the place dirty which I took photos of the property before I left because I had a hunch this would happen. I left a coffee table, tv stand and plastic garden chairs & chest of drawers which I said would pick them up and before I could do so they arranged a removal van so they could have something to charge me on to not receive my full deposit back. Mould in the bedroom window walls which they believe is acceptable to just paint over and not actually fix the issue. Stonehouse Deny all you wish and I will further share the photographs of all of the complaints & reports that have been logged and all of your correspondence evidence too. If you don’t care about getting your deposit back or wouldn’t mind having your faults dealt with until years later then I wouldn’t bother renting from them. The actual landlord is lovely it’s the agency that are useless and cut corners and generally do not care what so ever. I have the inventory from when I first ever moved in and the house wasn’t even clean and had many advisories and issues that wasn’t resolved. I will be seeking legal advice against the company if my deposit is not returned in full due to their negligence !! Should have listened to the poor reputation they had before renting from them, my mistake!

This estate agent is the worst I've ever encountered. The only reason I can think of how they get business is people may believe that because they're a local independent agent, you'll get a better, more personalised service. Well having had the misfortune of dealing with this lot on potential buys of 5 different properties then I can categorically say I would never trust them to sell my house. I'm a buy to let investor with multiple BTLs and the first time I dealt with them was trying to view a property that was reduced the day before. I contacted them asking to arrange a viewing and went through a series of questions including providing detailed financial info then heard nothing back. I heard nothing the next day. I rang the day after and was told an offer had been accepted. Regardless of not having the courtesy to inform me, I said I would still like to view it as if I liked it I would put in an offer above asking price. Stonehouse said they wouldn't pass on my details as the seller had accepted. More discussion explaining that I could put in a higher offer than was accepted so the buyer would get a better price but they weren't having any of it so in the end I hung up. Looking back I should have dropped a note at the sellers property because I was very keen on that house. The 2nd time was a house that had come back on the market after the sale fell through. It needed work and had a car parking space that you could rent or buy outright. So I view this house and every single question I asked the agent showing me round was met with "I don't know". "How much is it to rent the car parking space?" "I don't know" "How much is it to buy the space?" "I don't know" "How much do you think this house would be worth done up?" "I don't know I deal with lettings" "Oh right well I'm looking at this as a buy to let so how much would it rent for done up?" "I don't know I'll have to check what houses are going for in this area" Useless. I already had a good idea but wanted a 'professionals' view. The 3rd house was one that looked OK in the pictures but needed modernising. I view it and it's quite clearly got subsidence issues. There's massive cracks in walls and fresh mortar to external brickwork also has cracks. I'm no building surveyor but this was clearly still moving. Nothing of that was mentioned by Stonehouse before I went to view so was just a complete waste of my time. The 4th house I actually liked enough to put an offer in. I wait a few days and after hearing nothing I ring and am informed the offer was rejected. That was as high as I was prepared to go so I have no issue with the offer being rejected but I'd appreciate the courtesy of a phone call to say so. The 5th house is one I've requested to view and Stonehouse haven't got back to me. I'm not going to bother chasing them up. So if you're selling a house do yourself (and me) a favour and use someone else. Given they don't have a booming market at the moment then pictures on rightmove aren't going to sell houses by themselves and Stonehouse may actually have to try and do a bit of work for a change. I haven't provided my real name in this review as I'm always on the lookout for potential buy to lets so unfortunately it means I might have to use this lot again in future. Fingers crossed I won't.

I decided to put my house up for sale with a smaller local estate agent Stonehouse, as I believed that they would give a more personal service, and they did not disappoint. Kristiana was the lady who came to see me, she was so friendly and professional, nothing was to much trouble, she gave me unlimited time to answer all my questions without feeling pressured in any way. It was then passed onto Annie who was also very friendly and professional, my house was sold within 24 hours and for the full asking price, I was then contacted straight away after the first viewing, with an offer. Extremely strange estate agents. They asked us for conveyancing before even telling us that the offer had been accepted. I received 2 separate phone calls by two separate staff asking me to make appointments with their mortgage advisor despite my own mortgage advisor already making contact with them (both staff denied any knowledge of the contact even though my mortgage advisor spoke to one of them directly). I had almost zero contact with them except calling me to tell me my offer was declined and that another offer was accepted. They gave us no opportunity to counter offer and when we called again asking to put a counter offer in, they said they ‘don’t do counter offers’. Makes zero sense to me and will not be viewing any more properties with this estate agents.
