Sheila, Take A Bow

I had a wonderful experience with the West Road branch in Fenham, Newcastle upon Tyne, especially Sheila Brannen, Rebecca and Darren. Over the course of 6 months and several failed attempts, Sheila helped me get just what I needed, with a very limited budget and a very specific wishlist. She really pulled out all the stops and was super understanding of our circumstances (relocating 120 miles, to escape domestic abuse and ultimately becoming homeless, while lone parenting an autistic 4 year old). She checked in regularly, always had a sympathetic ear and a rock solid grasp of what I was after. In fact, she knew what we needed better than I did. I wouldn't have looked twice at the house I ended up buying, but it's turned out to be ideal for me and my 5 year old. I would heartily recommend Pattinson's and will definitely be in touch if we move in future. As a Smiths fan, I can't resist saying "Sheila, take a bow" 😂

Amazing staff who go above & beyond. Recently saw a house we liked on the market, viewed via Pattinsons and they helped us put our house on the market the same day.Very professional approach and great communication selling ourhome.Our chain has had many challenges along the way, Craig, John & Lindsey have all gone above and beyond, dealing with the purchase and sale to secure the chain. I had a very disappointing experience with Auction. After my original sale fell through, my agent recommended using their service. They initially asked me to list my property at 20% below market value, which I reluctantly agreed to. After the first month, they asked me to reduce the price by another £30k, assuring me it would sell the same day. Desperate to sell, I agreed, but the property still didn’t sell.

I can’t recommend and thank the Pattinsons team at the North Shields Branch enough - John Hulse, Craig Wallace, and Lindsay Sproat!After deliberating for a while and speaking to several estate agents we chose Pattinsons and I’m glad we did!John did an amazing job with the photos and marketing of our home and we had an offer after the first viewing.We had some issues with our chain and Craig acted as go-between keeping it all together. It would have literally fell apart if it wasn’t for him and we would have lost our dream home!Lindsay helped reassure us when when we were at our most stressed. Keith (Valuer) gave honest and reasoned pricing advice supported by comparable evidence, having sold a number of similar properties on our estate. We had multiple viewings and offers meaning we achieved our asking price within weeks of being on the market. We're also aware of at least two other houses on the street having been put under offer within weeks of going to market with Pattinsons. Once under offer, Emily managed the sales process brilliantly and was always on hand to offer assistance when needed. The process of selling a house can be quite daunting but the team at Pattinsons, South Shields were excellent and we'd definitely recommend them.

My house was live on the internet Monday afternoon and within half an hour I had three viewings booked in. On the Wednesday my house was sold. Dan was very professional and polite throughout. renting a furnished property

We rented a furnished property through Pattinsons and did not have a good experience:They appear to advocate and favour the property owner - As a renter we felt we were very much an after thought. They were very quick in taking a deposit for the property but after this very little contact - we were told it would take 2 weeks for references to be completed it took nearly 3 weeks with very little communication from them - we had no idea if we were going to be able to move in. We were told initially that we could move in on 6th of May and later on was told it would need to be after the 15th of May since this was the first available date a gas engineer was available. Even then no estimated move in date was given it was 'some date after the 15th'- this can be quite stressful when you are between homes and you need to arrange movers etc - no empathy or understanding from Pattinsons - it was very much this is the situation deal with it. Maybe better to ensure the relevant gas certs are in place before you advertise a property? The other thing that annoyed us was that in the advertisements there were images that showed 2 TV sets - as a fully furnished property we expected these to be included but they were taken out before we moved in, we felt this was misleading and a classic bait and switch scam. We were not permitted to see an inventory before we had paid in full 1 months rent - but when you are paying for a fully furnished property you need to know what is included in the rental - . The one good thing we liked was that someone from the estate agent agreed to meet us at the property to give us the keys instead of us having to go to the estate agents. They are probably great to deal with if you are a property owner but as a renter (the people that actually pay the money) the experience was poor

Caution of Pattinson online auction Any one buying property through Pattinson online action should take extra caution.The property we bidded for online auction the proprietor registered on land registry and the seller are different. We have lost all our deposit money and auction fees including legal costs. Anyone trying to buy property auctioned with this company be extremely cautious . It's easy to say don't try because you could lose all your money.

SHOCKING estate agents. My partner and I were looking to rent a property in Kettering, signed all the documents and was in the process of doing the referencing, we received an email saying the referencing had failed, I simply asked why and they told me they couldn’t discuss it with me ( our own referencing?) myself and my partner contact the people we put down as references and not a single person had been contacted. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

I made an offer to buy a bungalow in Middlesbrough through Pattinson estate agent which was accepted only in a week afterwords I received voice a massage from Melanie Devine (hardly divine at all) gazumping on an accepted offer which I find unscrupulous. I now don't know what will happen to the deposit I paid for conveyancing solicitor. I expected Pattinson would have taken the rotten property off the market or warned me so I wouldn't pay deposit until both side are fully committed. I now regard Pattinson as joke and wast of time a warn everyone when dealing with this state agent In response to above Pattison asked me for detail:"Thank you for your prompt reply. Frankly, I didn't expect it, given the narcissistic verbal response I received when I called to inquire about why, after officially accepting my offer a week later, the property was still on the market. I had assumed that upon acceptance, the property would be removed from sale, especially since I had already incurred expenses in engaging conveyancing services. One would expect this to be in the customer's interest.Thankfully, I hadn't yet engaged a building surveyor or engineer, saving me from further expenses. However, there was not even an apology for the wasted time and the losses incurred due to what I can only describe as total incompetence.I have previously purchased two houses through Pattison estate agents and have been satisfied, but I must express my total dissatisfaction with the handling of this particular purchase.Your response seems to favor the seller unilaterally, whereas your role as an estate agent is to provide excellent service to both parties, rather than assuming a profit-driven stance that could lead to losses to either side of the transaction. It's perfectly reasonable to temporarily suspend acceptance of an offer until securing the best offer for the vendor or until the vendor commits to selling, at least in principle. As you understand, buyers often incur expenses for engaging conveyancers and surveyors. Perhaps adopting a legal approach akin to Scotland's property transactions, which outlaws gazumping, could help mitigate situations where your conduct may be perceived as lacking, irrespective of the costs borne by those who trusted your business integrity. Then afterwords being subjected to verbal arrogance from your staff, followed by what feels like a halfway justification in your own response, which is disheartening. I've used your services twice in the past when purchasing two houses, but I won't be doing so again, will share my experience with business colleague and family in absence adequate regulation to force acceptable business conduct .M. I have had a very good experience with Pattinson estate agent.

I have had a very good experience with Pattinson from start to finish, my request for a valuation was responded to promptly and conducted with care and considered advice provided. I had several valuations and Pattinson were by a long stretch the highest and whats better they found potential buyers who made offers in the first week and we accepted an offer 1 week later. I was given good advice around the position of the potential purchasers and how this would likely effect timeline to completion etc. All of the staff I dealt with a Pattinson where happy to help and had a great system for keeping on top of cases it seemed whoever I spoke to knew exactly where things were at. I know that Pattinsons kept pressure on the Solicitors on both side and provided regular feedback without prompting. I considered not listing names as I dont want to miss anyone as all experiences where great but Lisa who valued the property stood out as did Poppy who was very prompt and reliable when seeking updates on progress. Overall we are happy with the service and the pricing was very competitive.
