I really need to leave this lengthy review to highlight the fantastic service we received from Jay at Cromwells in Wallington. Myself and my Son, who was looking for a flat, went to view one in Mitcham and it was Jay who was there to show us around. He was very engaging and professional. We subsequently had an offer accepted and were delighted to complete some months later. I cannot express just how lovely and helpful Jay was from start to finish, going above and beyond in my view to keep us in the loop. Other estate agents we had dealt with literally ‘hounded’ us for a commitment to buy other places we had seen previously, and appeared desperate for us to use their add-on services. Jay was the epitome of professionalism, providing us with all the information we needed to make a decision and ensured we knew he was available any time if we had any issues. We did contact his several times during the course of the buying process and he was always friendly and very helpful. Thank you so much Jay - you don’t know how much it meant to us to have your invaluable support throughout the whole process. Cromwells - I hope you know what a gem you have in Jay

I appreciate there are lots of good reviews for the sales side, but lettings was a terrible service. We were having works done, but once they was completed it took over a month to get the property photographed and listed which wasted weeks of our time. When they did find a tenant we were only sent the credentials & contract 2 days before the client wanted to move in. When we looked through the documents there were so many red flags for example - we wanted a 2 year contract and they only had the right to rent in the UK for 1 year / 18 months.. and in addition there was some very dodgy employment credentials. When we refused to rent the property on the basis that soemthing wasn’t adding up, they said it was our right to refuse the tenant if we wanted to.. so we did and then they told us to come and get our keys and they won’t no longer help us with our search a very very childish and pathetic thing to do, when it was them who put forward a potentially dodgy tenant not us. I refused a tenant in the past under similar conditions and the previous company professionally found someone else who stayed for over 3 years. We only wanted to try this agent as we assured with this company it would be really smooth - it wasn’t and they have wasted both our time and money. Their loss as we were willing to bring over a lot of new tenancies if this went well, I would highly recommend if you get tenants put forward from them, you do your due diligence!

Final follow up: Sorry, I'm not changing my review. I received poor service at this branch and it still bothers me. You can claim it was a different owner, or "mostly different staff" and try and shift the blame and responsibility, but it doesn't change my experience, so please spare me the patronising psychology. Also, it's interesting that you wrote so many words defending yourself, talking about your awards and how great the staff are, but you didn't once manage to say, "sorry for the bad experience you had, we'll try and do better next time", or something along those lines. First follow up, this is the right Cromwells. I had a very poor experience at this branch in 2018 and wouldn't return. It's not surprising you haven't kept a record of me. We recently sold our home through Cromwells in Wallington, a 4/5 bed detached period property. Sally and her team (especially Chanelle who we dealt with a lot, and Scott) were excellent. The most notable strength was the sales progression, selling was relatively straight forward, pushing the sale through on the other hand involved a lot of patience, professionalism and hard work from the Cromwells team, mainly due to issues in our chain. Being local and having sold the property originally to us, they were able to provide an informed valuation and really help us in selling the property to prospective buyers. Once again, we have had a very good experience with using Cromwells. The quickness and efficiency right from the start, Sam took the pictures and arranged the property to be shown on all the usual websites, this was done on the same day that the photos were taken. Very helpful, professional staff who arranged the viewings on our property and took charge of the viewings so we did not have to worry. Any queries I had were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Chanelle was wonderful, explaining processes to me and hand holding along the way. And very calming to me and Sally as well! I would never go with anyone else, Cromwell's were amazing from start to finish. Sally, Chanelle and Hayley made selling my mums property as easy as they could. I even locked myself out of my mums property and left my car keys in the property, they sent someone round within 20 minutes with keys. I have just completed today on a flat purchased through Jay at Cromwells. I have to say the process was faultless. There was no messing around, the flat was priced reasonably and the communication was second to none. Always a reply whatever time of the day, always a callback. I shall be doing business with Cromwells again. It's very hard to find honest truthful estate agents but these guys are exactly that. When I put my offer in there was absolutely none of this old "there's been someone else with a higher offer" malarkey. It was black and white from start to finish. I recently sold my house with Cromwells, we did a open day in August and had 30+ viewings and 10+ offers. We didn't have the best luck at first as we lost our first to two buyers but this was no fault of Cromwells, they kept positive and worked tirelessly and we were third time lucky with our buyer! Sally was my main point of contact, she was responsive, always took my calls and helped chase the buyers solicitors.
