I recently used chancellors estate agents to move to one of there rented property’s. My dealing was with Declan Hartigan ,Who was very informed very helpful and welcoming. Very professional throughout the whole process keeping me informed with a personal touch. It's always a nice surprise when somebody remembers your name considering the amount of people they have to deal with. I highly recommend chancellors estate agent and I am very impressed with Declan Hartigan. After my Smooth transition into my new home I also have perfect after-care service. Robert Higgins

Id like to thank our property manager Simon Butt for being so helpful every step of the way with our property. It is our first rented accomodation and the house was not ready when we moved in. Locks and windows did not work, the washing machine broke within a month and service men have been called out on around 4 seperate occasions but Simon was there with an answer as soon as we asked him for help and handled everything. If not for him then the whole sitation would have been so much more stressful but he was there replying to emails and calling repairmen as soon as we found a problem. Any problems were resolved within a week or two. Thank you for all your hard work, quick responses and for being a great support line for us!

I'm giving 1 star, because 0 stars is not available. We moved out of our rented property 2 months ago, after a 5 year tenancy, of which we had numerous problems with Chancellors. Starting the day before we moved in, it never improved and got worse with each year, to the point I would get dizzy and light headed upon seeing an email from them knowing that it would turn into a saga to be resolved. To really top it all off, we are still battling with them over the fees they have deducted from our deposit, of which one fee we have already paid and proven we have paid by supplying bank statements. They don't care and have ignored it. Simon Butt, Manager of Thameside Property Management has been completely unhelpful and has failed to supply us with details of our account and copy invoices which we requested a month ago and have requested every week since. We suspect his role is to stall us until we are no longer able to raise a claim via the TDS, which is why we want these invoices. A disgusting company to deal with, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. When we were looking to buy our current house, we didn't even look at adverts marketed with Chancellors as couldn't bear to deal with them again. Feb 2018: Just wanted to update this to say we received back the money taken from our deposit we were disputing with no real explanation why they gave in. I can only assume because they had no evidence of the ‘invoices’ they were referencing, and my persistence paid off. Result for us, as I was close to giving up - it had become about the principle though to me and I NEEDED to have the last word after the years of incompetence we experienced from them.

Appalling

Our experience with Chancellors has been profoundly disappointing, defined by a failure to uphold basic professional standards, contractual consistency, or duty of care.

Back in February 2016, when the Chancellors refurbishment referral system was launched, it has made our company grow significantly, we receive many referrals, could be anything from day to day Maintenance/Repairs inc gardening/cleaning, to extensions/complete refurbishment works. Raquel thought of this refurbishment system I believe when she was on maternity leave, it’s a great idea, and helps not only us as a company grow but chancellors grow as a company too. I strongly believe with this system now in place, this insures less pressure to the property management team, and is a sufficient way to get quotations over to any client/landlord/tenant within a 24-hour period. This is a quick and easy system, from receiving a referral, to attending the property to carry out a quotation, pass quotation over for decision, then get the works booked in as soon as possible. So I would just like to thank Raquel Landman for introducing us to the refurbishment referral system from the very beginning of the launch in February. I would also like to thank Summer Allan for sending us works/projects on a daily basis. Who works closely alongside Raquel to insure the system is ran as smoothly as possible.

I've just had a successful letting with Chancellors in Sunningdate. I dealt mostly with Jenny Wintermeyer who was a pleasure to work with, friendly, polite and very well informed. Because we were pressed for time, they pulled out the stops to finish all the paperwork in very quick time and in a very professional manner. The team who answered the phone were also very polite and helpful, especially Kate and Lauren. [Sorry I didn't have the chance to speak with Fraser - I'm sure he would have been just as helpful.]

I wanted advise about selling my house early next year and popped into the Sunbury branch and spoke to polite and helpful agent called Daniel. I have never placed a house on the market before so was unsure on the process but Daniel was happy to take the time to answer my questions. I left pleased with his advised and comfort with his knowledge. Although I am not putting the house on market at moment I would recommend Chancellors in Sunbury and will return.

Me, my husband and our daughter just moved yesterday to our new flat. I can't belive all process was so quick and not as complicated as I first thought. Very special thanks to Nathan Tan, he was very patient and professional, he really supported us. He explained us everything, sometimes twice as we are not a native speakers ;). If you're a bit scared of all this "scary" agencies, forms, processes and other things that may seem to be complicated I can honestly recommend you chancellors and Nathan. Big thanks again!

What a pleasant experience! I went into the Henley branch and spoke to Jon, a very helpful employee for your Henley area. I needed some assistance in my property search and I was very impressed with your employees knowledge of the area, not only places/areas within my budget but also how close the houses were to everything else I would need to be around or near my new home, schools, shops etc! I'm in a bit of a rush as I am moving to the area for a job and knew nothing about Henley and surrounding suburbs. Whilst I was in the branch I was comfortable the whole time and did not feel pressured at all, which is refreshing for an estate agents! I left feeling like I had real direction on what was now within my means and will be back to arrange viewings next time I am in the area! A great experience overall!

I have been working with Katie Ralls recently to prepare the details for renting our house. We think Katie has been very professional and efficient in handling the many details in a timely manner. We are pleased with the outcome, and we would recommend Katie and her team to our friends who might have the similar needs. We think Chancellors is the great company and in the right place for us. We look forward to a long term work relation with Katie and Chancellor. Kind regards, Amanda

In the process of finding our new home I contacted many agents from different agencies, and I can say without doubt that the professional and personal service provided by Wayne Ryan goes far beyond the usual. He has been brilliant. He has shown us understanding, empathy and professionalism all along the way of finding us a new home. This time I contacted him by chance in my quest for our new house, but I have no doubt that if I had to sell, I would like him to be my agent. Chancellors Group is very fortunate to have Mr. Ryan as part of their team. Thank you for everything Wayne; it has been a pleasure working with you. Daniela R.

2 years ago I was in a position where I had to find a house for me and my baby. I was a single parent and not a lot of property's would accept housing benefit, when I called Tom Peachy at chancellors he was the one and only estate agent that didn't turn me away, and the only one who wasn't rude to me about being on 'benefits'. He found me a coach house quite literally in the same week and im still here just renewed my contract. Thanks Tom you really were a life saver

I recently used Chancellors to sell my flat in St Margarets. Daniel Johns managed the sale for me. Daniel did a great job in securing me a very decent price for the flat and a price that the other Estate Agent on board could not compete with. Daniel didn't just help with the sale but he was also instrumental in making sure we completed the sale within the target timescales. I was very grateful for his help and would happily recommend Daniel and Chancellors to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Dealing with Simon Butt, Chancellors, as a letting agent has been a very good experience for me (and I have experience with another company which was far less favourable). Simon Butt has been approachable, knowledgable, efficient and always gone the extra mile to help me with letting the property in Aylesbury and especially as it proved to be a quite difficult tenancy. He has always responded promptly by email or phone call to answer the many queries I had and keep me updated in all aspects of their managing of the property. He has been a much appreciated human face to the whole process and I feel has always acted fairly in the interests of both landlord and tenant. Many thanks Simon and I look forward to having your help with the property over coming months and years.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Anne Bellicoso. I have never met Anne but spoken to her lots over the last few months. Anne is an amazing lady so much so that in my phone she is under AMAZING ANNE. Anne has been a rock, she has been there from the start and has stuck by me right through all the ups and downs. Anne is worth her weight in gold. I can not thank her enough. Five stars are not enough for her she is worthy of all the stars there are plus more.

Home buying process involves more than two parties. Sometimes, it will be difficult to liaise with all of them. This is when you need to have a very efficient Estate Agent who can play a key role in the entire process. I really appreciate help and support extended to me by Sebina without whose support It would have been really difficult to exchange and complete my purchase in targeted time. I would surely recommend my friends, families and clients to go to Chancellors. Thanks Sebina once again. Samir Nath Pyakuryal

Great Service From Alice Spencer from Chancellors Central Lettings Team she has been absolutely fantastic in managing our rental, following up, great responding to emails, great at chasing up, answering calls and generally keeping us informed on the status of our rental, making the process less stressful, even making sure we were happy with progress before taking a well earned few days holiday! Thank you Alice for your great customer service! Defiantly at ease having you on board and managing this process for us!!

Chancellors Property Management have been managing my rental property for the past 12 months. Overall I have been happy with the level of service received. Recently Jamie Hawkins has been acting as my Property Manager, I have needed to contact Chancellors on several occasions over the past couple of months. I must say that I have been most impressed with all interactions with Jamie, he has responded promptly and taken appropriate action as requested, in a timely manner.

The estate agents working at chancellors are incredibly rude and incompetent. We have recently just tried to rent a property through them and at every point we were confused, given conflicting information and left in the dark about what was happening with our application. I have never been spoken to so poorly or rudely, with one estate agent actually saying to me ‘I don’t see what your problem is’. Communication was so poor throughout and we were often given less than 24 hours to do certain things otherwise our application would be unable to progress. Once, we were given only 6 hours to transfer over our deposit and rent without confirmation that the property was legally ours. We were often left unable to contact anyone to ask questions and I’m still awaiting my call from management! Chancellors ruined what should have been a very exciting time for us.

Brilliant service across the board. In particular Rachel Axton at Thameside has been more than helpful on a number of occasions and I cannot compliment her work ethic enough. She does indeed go the extra mile to make sure the job is done. In my own experience, things are nearly never straightforward, however Rachel has always made sure that everything is organised and try her very best to make sure the outcome suits everyone.

Avoid. Terrible experience trying to let a property through chancellors. Ongoing issues with poor customer service, rude agents who refuse to reply to emails or return calls. Awful experience trying to go through Canopy referencing who draw out the process disputing irrelevant minutiae, finally approved only to have to repeatedly chase a contract which was initially sent after days of chasing with incorrect information. Currently facing potentially having no where to live in 3 weeks and Chancellors are not willing to engage with us. Unable to contact a manager to escalate the issue or speak with anyone who is able to advise the current position of the tenancy. Very willing to take £346 holding fee but not prepared to treat customers with any respect.

I would like to say a very big thankyou to Josh O'Brien who helped with our recent property valuation. His local knowledge and experience proved extremely valuable and ensured we obtained the best price for our property and throughout the whole time from my first phone call to the office Josh has been extremely helpful professional and proactive and I would recommend them to anyone who's thinking of buying, selling or letting a property.
