We have recently sold our late Uncle’s house with Hunters of Castleford. We have never sold a property before and was feeling rather anxious, but our fears were unfounded as everyone was very kind, pleasant and professional, consistently keeping us informed and up to date with the process. Caitlin was the first person who we spoke to, she greeted us with a warm smile and generally got the process started. Lisa’s expertise and confidence became very evident as she guided us through the process, always returning my phone calls in a timely manner. Thank you everyone I will certainly recommend in the future.

We purchased a House that was up for sale via Hunters. Everything was pretty easy, transparent and all went smoothly. Lisa kept checking in on us keeping us upto date with info checking if we had any quires. Also a lovely lady called Katylin who was the 1st person we met from Hunters was really good - showing us around and answering all out questions.

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Whilst I am yet to purchase a property from Hunters in Castleford, I feel the need to write this review and commend the exemplary service I have received thus far. My first interaction was with Mehak who was very friendly and welcoming. She took the time to listen and offer advice and even took the time to introduce me to James. James also, I was very impressed with, he took the time to chat with me and again offer advice and guidance. The person with whom I’ve had the most interaction with is Danielle. Danielle has shown me several properties now and I’ve found every meeting with her to be like old friends conversing about a mutual interest. That said, she is very professional in her job towards both myself and the existing property owners / tenants and she puts our needs and thoughts first when conducting a viewing. Danielle is a true credit to the public facing side of Hunters and whilst my side hustle is property rental, my core business is retail and i’d employ Danielle today to run my sales.

I’ve lost sleep over the rental market at the moment, but with the experience my partner and I had with Hunters it made it all worth it! Beth helped us get the house we could’ve only dreamt of and really went the extra mile to make sure every box was ticked. We had some really unexpected hurdles but thanks to Beth sticking with us and being understanding of the situation we were able to have a really “human” outcome. I’ve felt a really warm welcome into my new home and part of that is due to the guidance I’ve had from Hunters. By far the best experience I’ve had with any letting agency, it’s nice to feel they genuinely care! At this moment, I’m able to sit in my new home writing this review knowing I now have the needed space to live my life, a world of weight has been lifted off of my shoulders despite what felt like all odds being dealt against my favour. Peter who shows you around the property is 10/10 he answers all questions hes a friendly face there is always service with a smile , i found him very helpful and so pleasent to meet. Hes showed me around a fair few houses and im always glad to see its him. The whole team are amazing, friendly and when things arent quite going to plan, nothing is too much trouble. Big shout out to James and the team for organising a large amount of viewings for my house which was due a new tenant. James provided a detailed report of tenant applications giving me confidence the property would be taken care of which as a landlord puts your mind at ease.
