Been on and off contacting and making enquiries to rent a flat for around 6 months, even longer before then, constantly told “we’ll give you a call back” - weeks go by, no call, flat goes. Feels purposely discriminatory against those on benefits, even though most of the country is nowadays as they say i don’t “meet the requirements” or “its not covered in the owners insurance” before even asking how much i’m entitled to. I’m entitled to full local housing allowance, have a UK guarantor that makes more than enough for the type of property i’m trying to rent and trying to flee from abuse. The renters rights bill were supposed fix these kinds of things but snobby estate agents like this always find some excuse around it. They don’t respond to enquiries from zoopla, rightmove or anything and by the time you’ve chased up your enquiry with them it’s “under offer” or they make up some excuse around your circumstances, very shady practices.

Dale Craft at Romans rescued me after awful experiences with two previous agents. I cannot recommend him too highly. I have given four rather than five stars, due to the fact that having sorted me out, I then have to move on to deal with other people at Romans, as Dale deals with the initial issues only. I wish I could have continued with him.
