Be careful of Romans lettings

We Don't really write reviews but for Romans going out my way, be careful with this company , trying to charge us bills for when we were not even in the property ,making rent increases 6 months into the contract should be a year, they lied about the property being cleaned, painted and carpets replaced , there are now changed 3 months after we moved in so had to clear each room so carpets could be

Super happy with Roman's efficiency and especially, Zara, who was great and helped my partner and I find the flat of our dreams. I've never had to directly deal with an estate-agency before and to be frank, I contacted multiple people to assist myself and my housemates with the moving plan with Romans and Zara was THE one who was SUCH a big help. She always answered the phone when we called, communicated so well, and she explained everything in a manner we could understand. Highly recommend if Zara is around/able to help, definitely contact her, made the move way less stressful. Overall great experience.

This is our first experience in going through renting an apartment in UK. Zara was our contact person from Romans and she made our experience very smooth and easy. She took care of our preferences for the furniture and ensured that the apartment is properly cleaned before we move-in. She coordinated with the landlord for our move-in date and attended to all our queries with utmost priority. It is great working with her. I will recommend her to some of my colleagues needing to rent in near future.

We had issues with our previous housemates from our previous residence since they were not allowing the agency to provide the landlord's reference, which was necessary to get the new housing contract with the Romans. For us, Zara worked as the point of contact in Romans. Zara was the one who recognised my problem and made numerous attempts to help us fulfil the terms of the property contract at a time when we were in a precarious position due to my pregnancy. And it was only because of Zara's diligence, supporting nature and kind personality that I obtained the contract. I owe Zara a lot.

Dale Craft at Romans rescued me after awful experiences with two previous agents. I cannot recommend him too highly. I have given four rather than five stars, due to the fact that having sorted me out, I then have to move on to deal with other people at Romans, as Dale deals with the initial issues only. Rachael was the first initial point of contact who showed us the property and provided all the relevant information we needed. Great experience & staff in Caversham

Our contact Chloe from the Caversham office has been fantastic. Super helpful and always responds to emails quickly with all the info we need. The systems and technology Romans use has made the whole application & paperwork process really simple & seamless. When we did have a technical issue at one stage, Chloe went out of her way to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Romans Lettings Bracknell - Ridiculously Poor Service

I had a terrible experience dealing with the lettings team in Romans, Bracknell. They treated my requests and queries with apathy and never gave me any type of full answer to very basic questions and avoided some queries I raised. I had to work extremely hard to get answers and had to eventually go through their complaints process and even that took two attempts for me to get a full and comprehensive reply. I asked the lettings team to forward a letter to the landlord, they didn’t do it and I got no apology, just uncaring and unbothered short replies. Even when I raised queries up to senior management, they could not grasp what I was asking and again gave me glib and blunt replies and sometimes did not reply at all.

Anais did terrific work at last minute to ensure the new tenant had a car park fob. Anais spent a considerable amounty of time trying to resolve the issue with Encore Estate Management who were failing to trace the master fob to pair it with. The management company were poor in providing an incorrect replacement fob and no help programming it. Anais met with another one of Roman's tenants who do not use the car park and arranged to borrow their fob for the new tenant to use on a short term basis . Anais is still chasing the management company to resolve the issue with the fob on my behalf. Great work which led to a smooth checkin for the new tenant. Thanks

Top Notch Personal Service for Landlords

Romans have been our managing agent for a coach-house in Basingstoke for the last few years. Throughout this time our property manager Denise Hurn has been fantastic. She is really "on the ball". She is fair and reasonable and acts as a fantastic interface/interim between us and our tenants. There are other letting agents to chose from but we haven't even looked because we are so happy with the service we get from Denise (I bet her retention numbers are high - hopefully she gets rewarded for that accordingly)!

I first came into contact with the Romans Property Group in Reading in August 2002, when an agent showed me an apartment, which I eventually purchased through the company. They did such of an excellent job of processing the sale, that I engaged the company to manage the rental of the apartment and they continue to do so to this day. I have worked with a few property managers during those 21 years and all of them have been good but the manager that I have worked with the longest is Kimberley Garcia Jones. Kimberley is not only diligent and professional in her work but she has an innate ability to maintain cordial relationships between myself and the various individuals who have lived in the apartment. I often ask her for advice at the onset of new Tenancy agreements and she has never failed to steer me onto the right track. I live overseas and travel a lot, therefore I am often difficult to contact. Consequently, there have been occasions when Kimberley has had to made decisions without receiving approval from me. So far by acting on her own initiative, she has always made the right decisions. I have never met Kimberley in person and even though I greatly appreciate her professionalism, it is her genuine warmth and kindness which makes her a joy to work with.

Donna Marie Brant has often been my main contact & is always helpful - sometimes I'll contact Donna & find she's not the correct person; but Donna will point me in the right direction. Will do anything to get the listing

Sorry to say but you I had asked so many questions around what documentation is needed as it was my first time selling and I was only told that I needed a EPC rating. There was no care in the customer service element once I had accepted an offer. I had to then run around for 5 months trying to locate documents like the EWS1 from, Deeds and other items. If I was advised that this was needed I probably would have waited before we accepted an offer to ensure it was stress free for the buyer and myself. The agent was confident with the evaluation and ended up dropping £30K of the initial market value while the completion were selling at market value. I was just passed onto someone after I accepted an offer who I only managed to speak 1 week before my completion. If you asked me if I would recommend or use the agency again I would run in the opposite direction pay a bit more in commission as the service is better and would never recommend anyone sell through Romans.
