Terrible communication. Do not action what there customer has agreed with them. Do what they want to do after telling them and agreeing next steps. Really late at returning your deposits and holding on to your money. Lack of communication and waiting days if not weeks for responses. Always say call back and don't. If you have an issue with your property the emergency out of hours phone line will not answer there phones. Don't compensate you for having to leave the property due to flooding and boiler blowing up and having to stay in hotel. You may want to seek another estate agent.

Having used Carter Jonas for a few years renting out my property, I've now changed and would never go back to them. I've had poor service consistently especially when a tenant checks out. The diligence and attention is woefully lacking. Keys lost, damage not logged, poor check out service. Tradesmen hired that do a poor job and charge silly money for doing little. Poor monitoring of tenants. Seldom been happy and glad I've switched.

Really disappointing rental experience with Carter Jonas. We have been in a property in Bath since May 2022, and had nothing but problems. The rent is a premium rent for Bath, and the properties presented as being high end. However when we have called Carter Jonas to resolve between 8-10 issues of varying degrees, they have taken 6 months to solve. Even simple things have taken 3-4 months, whilst they try to avoid extra costs at all points. The landlord, Hearthstone properties got involved in the end, and managed to solve all outstanding issues in less than 2 weeks. This just shows how poor Carter Jonas are at customer service.In return for the inconvenience caused, Hearthstone offered us a compensation payment against our rent, as they have clearly not delivered a property as described in the contract. This has now been reneged on by Carter Jonas, who have subsequently offered 65% of the original compensation payment made by the landlord!Prior to moving to Bath, we rented a property in Richmond, London, arguably one of the top 3 most expensive places to love in the country. Our rent was only 30% more than our 2 bedroom flat with Carter Jonas, and the property was 100x times better, and customer service exceptional. So much for Carter Jonas to learn from.

Sorry to see such a disappointing set of reviews for CJ. Our experience with their Harrogate Office has been SO DIFFERENT. It is very difficult to restrict the number of superlatives or star rating about James Spencer, who runs the team there. We had stressful sales - and today - a purchase through him - and so we have seen him "from both sides”. He is not only the complete 6 star professional, but also counsellor, care worker, friend.. needless to say, other estate agents are available - but he is definitely a go to guy!

Untrustworthy, lazy, never call back as promised and two weeks before our move into a rental property, having sold our house, our tenancy application was cancelled. We had agreed to pay a year up front, take the property as soon as it was available and met every demand such as the credit checks etc. But a worker in Carter Jonas decided not to try to make the deal go through for whatever undisclosed reasons she may have had. My advice would be if you want a roof over your head don’t go anywhere near Carter Jonas.

Worst renting experience of my life.I can go on and on about our awful experience with this branch of Carter Jonas but I don't want to waste any more of my life with this lot so I’ll try to keep it brief, factual and informative. (Also if you look at trust pilot and see the ratio between good and bad reviews, the number of reviews people that rated 5* have left and also read some of the reviews, its clearly incentivised to leave a good review, my opinion).If anyone would like the FULL detail, please get in contact with me and I’m happy to show you everything I have and explain in detail.From day 1 it seemed like this branch of Carter Jonas were against us. They were never on our side when it came to the numerous amount of disputes we had with the landlords property - the landlord even slipped up and told us how Pauline (an associate at Carter Jonas) was pulling the strings on some of the disputes we had, advising the landlord to just shrug us off (might have been just pushing away the blame).Move-in was horrible, the place was disgusting, rubbish left in the garden, broken cabinets, lights, holes in the walls, unclean, dead animals and insects and lots, LOTS more. We were simply brushed away when we complained about the condition of the property time and time again, however we made sure to take as many pictures as we could and save all the emails as we knew Carter Jonas and the Landlord would try their luck.When it finally came to leaving the dump, they decided to charge us over £700 for cleaning and damages. We admitted there were a few minor cleaning issues (couple of stains on the carpet, outside windows needed wiping, sink needed wiping, a few crumbs left on a counter etc.). The checkout was done by Jessica, a property manager, she failed to read the original inventory report and took pictures of problems PRE-DATING our tenancy! She also failed to read the numerous emails we sent complaining about the state of the property which we later used as proof that the problems were already there before we moved in! To add insult to injury Carter Jonas decided to pay over £400 for a full house clean when the cleaning problems could have been fixed by a professional cleaner in a matter of 30 minutes.Now clearly I’m biased but we disputed this £700 with TDS, I have a report from the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) adjudicator which backs our case and everything I’ve said, in the end we got almost £500 back from TDS. Okay im rambling now.. here's the facts:In our 1 year tenancy we experienced; 1 dodgy fuse box 2 major leaks3 hundred holes in the house4 billion spores of mould7 mice in the house20~ broken bits of furniture/fixingstons more stuff but ive spent enough time on this now

A MESS in administration, making FALSE statements and BLAME the tenant in bad attitude!!!, , , Barnes branch. Two staff called to reserve a time separately for future tenant to come to viewing (They asked me to remove their names (The Associate Partner and the Assistant), not sure they were afraid of anything. But it’s fine for me as the fact that here is true.).The viewing was fine to me. But one day before the viewing one staff called and expressed no viewing on that day and asked for another day. It was also fine to me. Then another senior staff called and BLAMED and SCOLDED at me about the cancellation in BAD attitude and ARGUED with me. She was the senior staff of this company. Why the staff do NOT have any compromised before making arrangements? Why the senior staff use such BAD attitude to customer and not clarify that their staff was the one to cancel ???? Then they made up another story and called the landlord that I was not co-operate. What a nonsense and FALSE statement!!!!It’s their staffs fault and keep accusing others without any feeling sorry. I will keep to complain to outsider independence organisation if your company keep continuing to make false statements and accuse me like this.NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!
