GoogleWhat a fantastic first time buying experience with Stephen at Davies & Davies Trowbridge. He was such a huge help from the start and was so lovely right up until the very end when I would call him every day chasing an update (through no fault of his/their own). When we went to pick up the keys, we felt so welcomed and as if he was as excited for us to get them as we were! A lovely touch to give us a little gift bag full of goodies to start off in our new home with (even though the Lindt Chocolates didn't last the 5 minute drive down the road). We cannot thank you enough and would recommend to anyone selling or buying in the Trowbridge area!

GoogleSo I wanted to rent a flat, the flat was lovely and perfect. However very dissapointed that I never got the flat because I couldn’t provide my tax return due to COVID. Bearing in mind I payed for the holding deposit of £130. Then they asked me if I could pay 6months upfront deposit every six months which I just thought was so disrespectful just because I haven’t been self employed for more than a year, not forgetting that we were on lockdown a whole year so I couldn’t set up my business! Sent proof of earnings and income also. Never got my money back, disgusted with the service in entirety. Won’t ever be considering using them againNegativeQuality

Thank you for taking the time to leave a Google review and we are disappointed that you have given us a one star rating.
With every tenancy application we have to be sure that a prospective tenant is able to prove that they can afford the rent each month, and your credit reference came back indicating that you were not earning a salary.
In order to try and assist with your application the suggestion was made for you to pay 6 months upfront, which you did not want to do and that is entirely your prerogative so you subsequently withdrew the application. It would have been explained to you that if you were unable or unwilling to proceed, or that you were unsuccessful due to affordability, then the holding fee could not be returned as we need to recover our time and referencing costs with progressing a non-proceedable application.
We trust that this explains the process, we wish you all the best and hope you find a suitable property soon.

GoogleI have contacted the lettings team (Kirsty) to view a property twice. First time I was told I would be put in the waiting list opening in around 2 weeks and that if I missed the phone call I might 'miss out'. I never got a call back.
After I have emailed them, they apologised saying they already had lot of people on the waiting list and the viewing list was full. Fair enough. So I saw another property online and contacted them promptly. I was told I would be put on the waiting list and that they could not guarantee a viewing until after a month, expired yesterday. Now the property has disappeared from the market and I have not heard anything back (again). I am unclear why they have such long waiting times for viewings (not indicated on rightmove.co.uk or their website), but it is quite stressful for people looking to rent. So overall I give 2 stars as I can not comment on how good they really are but my experience so far has been disappointing with the communication and updates. In the meantime I have found another place as, even if there were nice properties on Davies and Davies website, I did not want to contact them again to hear I would be put on the waiting list for a property opening in 2022!

GoogleI used Davies & Davies to rent a house in Hilperton, Trowbridge. They were very professional and were exceptionally good when it came to responding to any queries about the property/referencing etc - and always most courteous.
The only negative as far as I am concerned was that they were not present to 'hand over' the property at commencement of the Tenancy (like keys, boiler controls etc) - but perhaps that should have been the landlords function.
