Let down by poor communication within the company

Unfortunately we were let down by this letting agent yesterday. We had a 6pm viewing for a house in Hayes, I drove 1h in rush hour traffic to visit the property and on arriving I was met by the agent who informed me that the locks had been changed that day and his key did not work, so we could not access the property.He was very apologetic and I understand he was also frustrated as he himself had spent 45 minutes travelling to the property.He did offer to rearrange a viewing but I was so disappointed in the lack of organisation (how can it be that locks are changed and the letting agent/property managers are not informed?) and frustrated at the waste of my time and petrol (2 hours round trip) that I will not be using this company going forwards.I would have left 1 star but the letting agent was truly apologetic and did remain professional in the situation.

I am a landlord of 6 properties in the Docklands all let and managed by Dexters. Rates are fair for this kind of service and they have never struggled to find a tenant over the last few years. I find their valuations are usually correct and their marketing strategy effective. On the management side, I have one point person who manages all 6 flats, making it so much easier for me. I have worked with Leanne Clarke, in the Canary Wharf for office for 4+ years and she is fantastic. Diligent, organised, polite and effective. She inspect the properties every 6 months, gives me reasonable action points, keeps me updated with any tenant issues and sorts small things out usually without me getting involved. She has a number of good trade contacts for getting appliances/work done.

I have been entirely delighted by the service I have received from Dexters. I was having difficulty with my current tenant and Ryan could not have been more helpful and supportive in dealing with the situation. This was when the property was being marketed by another agent and we hadn't yet instructed Dexters (Field and Sons as they were then). Once we had instructed them, Gavin's professional attitude to renting the studio was excellent and the aftercare from Leanne has been of a equally high standard. They have made me feel as if I am their only customer. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone needing to rent out a property.

10/10 for effort at business winning 0/10 for performance!…

We were badgered by Dexter’s for years so decided last summer to instruct them on a letting. They over promised on the rent they could achieve so we missed the window to secure tenants before the autumn. We also then instructed them to sell as we were receiving no rent . They failed to produce a single credible offer on either basis. We instructed Goldschmidts who found a buyer and at a strong price within a matter of weeks. I’m prompted to write today as we received probably the third cold call from Dexters as the old property is now for rent via the new owners . We told Dexters on at least 2 previous occasions that we had sold the property so I wish they could be more efficient/ professional in all they do.

I have used this estate agent incompetent stafffor…

I have used this estate agent for letting my property for nearly 4 years. For the first three years, I couldn’t fault them, but the staff have Changed hands and I would not recommend them. The majority of staff are incompetent they make so many mistakes and their Fees are high. I did complain to the director and it was a waste of my time. My last tenancy agreement they failed to put in a break clause and I’m now unable to break free of them unless I give them vast amounts of money. Although I have to ride this out, I will not be using them again in the future. I do not recommend them.
