GoogleBest estate agency by far. I moved abroad from another country and spoke to several agents, no one really cared about helping me find a property to rent except for Chestertons. I spoke with two different agents at Chestertons (for two different properties) and both were super helpful, it was completely different from all other. Super recommend. A shoutout to Mya who helped me find my current place :)

I have and am having one of the worst experiences letting from Chestertons. There have been three instances already where the agent has mis-sold on commitments when we view the property and then what we finally agreed on. They even threaten to forfeit the holding deposit if we do not move forward, which I do not know if its legal before signing the agreement, whether they can forfeit or no. But they just bully the tenants. All this has happened even before the tenancy has begun and I do not know what all I have to face with them once we actually are using the property and reach out to them if there are any problems.Also, there is literally no escalation that I have realized. I have tried to request to speak to someone senior but the agent has just denied. They even denied to meet in person in the office. As a suggestion, I would recommend you to not work with this agency in the first place. However, if that is not an option and you really like the property, I would recommend you to really get everything clarified everything. I would not recommend you to trust their word or any other verbal promise on the call. They just go back on their word very easily and it has happened thrice with me already now.

TrustpilotMercenary Chestertons are THE WORST
Chestertons are without a doubt the worst of a very bad bunch when it comes to real estate agencies (at least from a tenant perspective).They are awful at almost everything they are supposed to do during a tenancy (like fix problems, etc ... we once went 3 MONTHS over winter without hot water before they fixed the problem). As a tenant, you exist only as a cash cow to them, to be ignored during your tenancy when fixing things might cost them money, then squeezed at renewal time to milk as much money out of you as possible for themselves. I am fairly certain that the price hikes they demand year upon year are not even going to the landlords, but to themselves in whole.If you are a potential tenant, I would recommend that you steer well clear of them. I myself will never rent through them ever again after my experiences. Even a ZERO star rating would be too high in my opinion.
