GoogleWe bought from Humberts Taunton and I have to say that Caroline and her team were fantastic. We bought during lockdown and the process was not easy with many issues that had to be resolved. Caroline was always proactive in addressing problems and chased the other parties in the chain to ensure that things kept moving in the right direction. Her communication was excellent and we felt that we were updated at every step with the key information we needed. GoogleWhen I first met Caroline, she explained to me that her job was not finished until a sale had completed - and never was there a truer word spoken! From day one, her professionalism, attention to detail and knowledge of the local property market filled me with confidence and I always felt that she was working on my behalf. Nothing was ever too much trouble, no question was left unanswered and when you receive an email at 5am, you can be assured that she doesn’t operate to conventional office hours. I was on Humberts mailing list - looking to buy a UK property. In February 2019 they sent out a mass mailing to nearly 500 people with all the email addresses on display, including mine. In their apology - send within the hour - they did it again! They say they have proper safeguards in place, that their staff can't ignore them and that this was "human error". To minimise the risk to me and my business I have changed my email address and notified my various contacts - friends, family, business associates and service providers, etc. This cost me a day of my time for which I have billed Humberts £200, less than half my usual rate. They refuse to pay. They have trivialised the problem - the increased risk to my data and that of my clients. Humberts say I should take my complaint up with the ICO. The ICO, of course, require organisations to deal with the problems they have caused and not use ICO routinely as a second stage resolution service. Humberts have broken the law. A mistake is one thing - how a company deals with it tells you all you need to know about them. Don't use Humberts if you value your privacy.
Thank you for your review. Respecting the privacy of our clients is foremost in everything we do but on this occasion the policies and safeguards we implemented were not adhered to. This is something we have since rectified.

I question the professionalism of this company. 2 weeks ago, arranged to see a property in Spain via their Purto Banus office. Contacted office before I left the UK to ensure property was still available. Took me on a tour of 6 other properties before I asked about the one I really came to see. I was informed it was sold and a deposit had been paid. 2 weeks later, it is still on their website and Rightmove. i am not allowed to post the link to prove my case. Make your own conclusion

GoogleWe would definitely recommend Humberts to anyone thinking of selling their home.Caroline herself carried out the majority of the viewings. They are a very professional and reliable company always at the end of the phone and very efficient at giving feedback on viewings. Our sale wasn't a straightforward sale due to it having an agricultural tie but Mary had some knowledge about ties and did an amazing job at filtering out the right people who complied. Above all we felt like they cared about us and it wasn't just another sale. Thank-you so much Caroline and Mary.

I feel obliged to review my experience with Humberts following a telephone call this morning. I'm so disappointed in the lack of compassion and interest they showed. Their advice is to look at properties below my budget and expect to overpay. He showed no interest in our willingness to make an offer but to instead clearly wanted to gouge for the maximum amount possible. It's a difficult market, but this absolutely callous lack of interest in buyers will burn Estate Agents when the market turns around. We will remember.

I phoned the York branch today because I need to buy in a hurry, ideally this weekend. I enquired about a property and the gentleman asked if I was the "difficult" lady who had called the other day. I said I hadn't called before. He went on to explain why this lady was difficult (she appeared to be worried about shadows from trees stopping light from entering the house - a perfectly valid concern when spending £1.5m) I am, apparently, just "another difficult lady" Troublesome women - we should all know our place really, shouldn't we?

From the first moment of meeting her to the conclusion of the sale, she could not have been bettered for her enthusiasm, professionalism and commitment.
