Absolutely disgusting expierience living under 30 Hanbury Road in Pontypool for over 2 years with mould and damp with a child who has developed skin issues and Peter Alan or the landlord not doing anything about it nor returning our deposit back over after a month we have moved out of the property. Do not rent out from them if you wanted to be treated like you do not matter and your health be put at risk

Don't use if you value your sanity or money. Absolutely disgraceful renting experience- call centre is full of young kids who usually on "another call and will call you back" doesn't happen. Don't believe any good hype (I'm taking legal advice about some issues) total let down. Their very good at taking the money but useless if you're a tenant or landlord. Would never never use again for renting.

Very disappointed, my partners family trying to sell their parents house. Lots of promises and nothing happened, never any feedback or viewings. The family gave the correct termination notice and moved to another agent, Peter Alan then sent my partners sister letters for payment of £94 for an EPC which they agreed was included in the sales package. It is a difficult time dealing with bereavement but to be hounded for money which wasn’t owed was added upset. They then phoned to say if the property was put back with them they would waive the £94 (which wasn’t owed) definitely don’t recommend

Have several properties with them , don’t do any routine inspections for over a year on all of the properties . Not sure what the point is in having a letting agent looking after you when you may as well manage them yourself . Very disappointing with the management side of things . Have now dis instructed them

Unhappy with this agent Today we came all the way from Bristol and were waiting (10.30, 11.50) in front of the property for a viewing of the property for which we had an appointment at 11.30. No one came, and no one picked up the phone. We are unhappy with this letting agent, most of the time no one picks up the phone when we need to make inquiries; several times no reply for the online inquiries as well

After a proposed 35.5% increase to my rent right before my yearly tenancy was to be renewed (which was not within market average and completely nonsensical), I’ve been waiting two months to receive my deposit back (in full because the place was spotless). Three whole weeks ago my “funds were released” but the accountants have apparently been too “busy” and “backlogged” to put through a simple bloody BACs. Unbelievable. The DPS agent I spoke to today laughed down the phone and said that’s not a reasonable excuse for them to give. This made me feel extremely stupid for even waiting this long for taking action. I’m going to comment on your social media pages until I receive my funds back and I’ll ring every blood day too. I’m sick to death of this company. It took them weeks to inspect the property after I’d left as well. I’ve never dealt with such an incompetent and non-caring company. I cannot put into words how horrendous my dealings with you have been.

Wouldn’t give a star if I had an option! We have been dealing with Peter Alan via renting a property, firstly they pushed for a move in date despite the house requiring work from previous tennants however we moved in. Over 30+ issues not listed on the inventory, inventory listings ‘acceptable/ good’ when the pictures were documenting poor standards. We are now 6 weeks into being in the property, still chasing any form of communication from Peter Alan, we know this is them as thankfully our landlady (who is paying them to manage this property) has been in touch with us as she is experiencing the same challenges from Peter Alan! Fair to say, do not pay Peter Alan to manage a property as you will have very unhappy tennants and poor customer service. Landlord/lady’s you can do a better job yourself.

Absolutely appalling service . Try and get information for a house you rent out and get passed from person to person. Been trying to get regulation smoke alarms fitted since November and still no closer. Shocking when there are no smoke alarms in the house. Not helpful for landlords and no safety for tenants. I have spoken to Hathaways today cheaper and really helpful. Gave me a breakdown of costs instantly. Good luck if you choose Peter Alan as a landlord. Waste of money and time and effort.

Made a complete mess of lettings details of my property. Took five weeks to put it on Rightmove. I wanted to change agents but they offered me £350 to stay with them which I did. However when I asked for the £350 they wouldn't give it. I took them to small claims court and was told that because I had not accepted their offer in writing they didn't have to pay it. A small devious loophole in the law. I wonder how many times they have used this and offered compensation and not paid. They gained the letting fees and management fees and I certainly feel conned by their dishonesty. Avoid these agents. They don't care about landlords or tenants only their own bank balance.

They have been very unprofessional throughout the selling process of our bungalow. They put pressure on us to get our property on the market for Boxing Day 2022, which never happened as pictures weren't taken in time, and we had to chase to get them done as no communication with the photographer. We weren't going to put the property on the market until the spring. We've only had 1 viewing in 2 months, we've tried to be released from a 5 months contract to no avail. They lied about the selling fee of 1.6%, as we queried it and was told that was the going rate for South Wales. This is not the case as most other agents charge 1%. We are tied in the contract for another 3 months as they won't release us and they have no-one on their books matching our property. All we would like is to be released so we can get our property sold as we want to relocate back to Ipswich, Suffolk, England.

TrustpilotNo answer to the “emergency line”. 3 hours waiting and still no answer
I’ve been without water for over 24 hours, I’ve been trying to ring the “emergency line” for over three hours today at different times of the day. I’m starting to think the phone line is unmanned and just a sham to make it seem like they care, evidently they do not. The maintenance line is also closed for the whole weekend so you have to call the emergency line. Do you not have enough staff to have the maintenance line open on the weekends or even to answer your “emergency line”. I’m deeply saddened by this whole ordeal. My water has been off for a total of four days over the last week, in part due to frozen pipes but by god, zero help from this emergency line.

I have been leasing a place through this company for the last two years and they lied about the state of the property. I find out that the property is riddled with damp and they covered it up. It is also not fire safe as I have an interior door as a front door which is against letting regulations when I have consistently reported thse problems to Peter alan they laugh down the phone and find the whole situation amusing whilst we as tenants suffer. Carol Shepherd, the senior manager at head office along with her assistant Jordan have continuously lied and covered up wrongdoing by members of staff and when I made a complaint about her it was assigned to her to investigate! Absolute joke!The worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Avoid letting from this company at all costs.
