Don’t believe the other reviews. Avant Homes are a cowboy outfit. Since we purchased our home in 2021 (Hawfinch Place) we have made several improvements to our home and have utilised the services of a local odd-job tradesmen to implement them. He has frequently been left speechless at the ineptitude and stupidity of the original builders. They will leave no corner uncut.

Avoid avoid avoid

There is no doubt that avant build homes which have a lovely interior with many more things included as standard than other builders, to a high specification. However, this simply just means more problems and more poor service. We bought our home in 2019 and had a snag list in excess of 400 individual items, some minor which are to be expected and some pretty major which are still not completely resolved. Some issues are fixed quickly, others involve an argument. When buying a new build I expected to have some snags, however I expected them to be fixed and I expected the house to look like a brand new house and when snagging we took the view of what we would see as acceptable should we have had the work done in our home by a tradesman. Unfortunately Avant Homes are all about money and blame. Nothing is their fault and they want to pass the cost of anything to anyone else where possible. Sad thing is, if our house had been and signed off correctly to begin with they could have saved themselves a fortune in coming back out to do work. There is a serious attitude problem with a lot of the management and staff within the regional head office. I'm absolutely disgusted by the way I have been spoke to by several senior people at Avant Homes. It's quite simply gas lighting and in my opinion this shouldn't be allowed. The psychological games which they play should not be legal, and if gas lighting was a criminal offence we would have pressed charges against Avant countless times. Avoid avoid avoid. Their only saving Grace is a couple of nice site managers and girls in customer service. I would not go anywhere near avant homes again. Vile company.

Rude, haughty estate agent

First meeting at Skelton went well. Sales agent was lovely but did not have any 2 bedroom houses to show us. Later called me and we spoke and said there was availability on their Sherburn in Elmet so booked it in. Unfortunately had some issues day of and anticipated we would miss our appointment so called the number we were given and told the lady we would be over 20 minutes late. She said it was okay to still attend and she would pop over an email to the Sherburn site. Arrived there and of course did not expect to have an appointment but we wanted to see the home and had been told it would be fine regardless. Sales lady at the site was so pompous, speaking to us like we were children. Even though we apologised, she kept trying to usher us out saying she had no space for us (again we weren't expecting her to abandon her current appointment, we just wanted to see the house we had confirmed we could see and driven over 40 minutes to see) until I said her colleague on the phone had said the house was available to view. Funny she said she had had no correspondence but yielded once we let her know that. That's when she relented a bit and coldly let us through, treating us with so much disdain. The house was fine, but difficult to truly appreciate when you've just had a sour experience. Hopefully she has more grace for future clients

Went to see Julia, the sales advisor for Hackett Grange in Radcliffe on Trent. Julia was one of the most friendly, warm and lovely people I've ever met, and the most affable sales advisor. She took the time to explain everything to us, and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was incredibly accommodating ad went above and beyond to secure the best deal for us. Unfortunately, we decided against it due to the location of the site being too far away from work and amenities, however our experience with Julia left a lasting impression with Avant Homes. I would jump at the chance to deal with her again for a future development.

We have had an excellent customer service experience from the very beginning. We are from London and have been looking for a home for a very long time, But when we stumbled upon Avant homes and started correspondence with Caroline , it made all the difference to . Caroline was very warm, welcoming and courteous which helped us to make the decision to buy at Viridian Meadows. She continued with her excellent communication and customer service skills throughout our whole process. She was very much in hand to help with any issues we have faced and is very knowledgeable about the area offering advice and suggestions when necessary. The aftercare service is excellent 10/10 really passionate people who love their jobs and have ensured we are happy with our home. We love our home and the community we are now building so thank you Caroline for helping us find our dream home.

Don’t buy from avant, poor customer service, poor communication, poor finish to the house, impossible to try and arrange repairs. Recent work to the roads on the estate has caused damage to my car tried speaking to the sales office which the lady there like all other sales staff that have worked there tells you she’ll call you back and never does. Went to speak to them in person again and as she was with new customer tried shutting me down and kicked us out when we continued to raise the issue in front of the customer.
