GoogleThe Bexhill branch are the worst estate agents I have ever dealt with. Phoned to make an offer on thursday morning, to be told that one member of staff was qualified to take it. Then waited 6 hours for them to phone back and ask exactly the same information I'd already given. They then didnt pass the offer until the following day, friday, and when the vendor called them back on saturday, the staff member who can deal with offers wasnt in and therefore I was told it would have to wait till monday when he was back. Phoned again at 10:00 on monday to find out they still didnt know but had recieved another offer in the mean time. They did everything they could to not take my offer short of actually refusing and I still have no idea whether mine would have been accepted as I withdrew solely due to the agent. If I could filter out properties so that I never had to deal with this estate agent I would. I loved the property but if they were doing this for an offer I wasnt prepared to take the risk of continuing, knowing that the estate agent was incapable of communicating. I hope they were incompetent rather than acting in bad faith but I suspect not.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

TrustpilotTerrible service at Foxs and Sons at…
Terrible service at fox and sons at Taunton.Tell you what you want to hear for you to buy the property. No communication at all, If you need to speak to someone they are always busy and never return your call so always have to ring them back again. Failed to contact us with important information that resulted in us pulling out the sale. When I phoned in to inform them it would be likely we would have to pull out, the person who was dealing with the sale was busy and I still didn't get a call back and that was over a couple of weeks ago. We have now pulled out and 10 days on still have had no contact from the estate agents but I can see the sellers have put their property back on the market with a different estate agents so I think that says it all, they obviously wasn't happy with the service they were getting either. This has put me off ever buying or selling a property through Fox and son due to the terrible service, its the added stress you don't need when buying/ selling a property.

TrustpilotA great service at Bognor
A great service at Bognor, with great leadership. In particular, we are extremely impressed with Sam, a relatively new member of their superb team. He is a great asset to their personalised service. New as he may be to the role, he is the most proactive and communicative estate agent we have ever had the pleasure of working with on our case. We have moved 8 times in 50 years, and he is the best there is. He remains aware of customers plight, and engages every skill in selling our property.Despite having our first offer withdrawn on health grounds, Sam continued his efforts to find another buyer aware of our needs in moving out of area. He remained focussed, maintaining a balance between encouraging and supporting us the vendor, whilst not exerting too much pressure on prospective buyers, till reaching success in getting a second offer on our property. He has an amazing customer focus with a calm, efficient and professional approach, in both his personal presentation and his work. He works long and hard hours in pursuit of a successful outcome for vendor and buyer alike, and his timely communication during contract process is much appreciated. He is so interested in what he does and his positivity is refreshing and encouraging all the way.

TrustpilotFalse Promises...Fareham Branch
Everything started really positively with lots of promises about how fantastic they are, how they work differently to other local agents and how they fully assess a buyer before accepting an offer.Cut to what actually happens...The number of viewings was brilliant and after two weeks we accepted an offer. At which point we assumed everything was in hand. We appointed conveyancers and got the ball rolling. In the meantime we found a house, put an offer in and the agent called Fox & Sons Fareham to confirm the chain. THEY NEVER DID. We lost out on the property as they didn't have the time to confirm the chain. This got us wondering WHY they didn't confirm the chain and upon calling them they advised that our buyer was popping in with her ID... two and a half weeks after we accepted the offer. It's worth remembering that their sales pitch is that they fully assess a buyer before accepting an offer...they hadn't even identified her!We then queried this with Fox & Sons and the mortgage advisor told me that they had called the buyer the day previously but they didn't answer. In the same morning the Branch Manager spoke to my wife who stated that they spoke to the buyer yesterday and they had validated the mortgage. A complete lie.We pulled our house off the market as none of their promises came to life. The Branch Manager even had to be chased to reply to an email to confirm they had taken the property off of the market.Fox & Sons are not worth the extra money to other agents, you do not get more for your money so you're better off keeping it in your pocket.

TrustpilotTruly awful
Truly awful. Once they have a buyer for your property they have zero interest in customer service. Don’t reply to emails or return phone calls. In my case they lied about aspects of my sale. Nearly 6 months to complete the sale. Terrible.

TrustpilotSteve delivers on his promises
Selling the house you were brought up in and your parents worked every hour in the day to own and then love for over 45 years is not easy. Luckily Steve, also a local lad from Hampden Park understood this, as well as the my challenges of living remotely, and made sure I was fully supported through the process. I asked for help, I got it, I said comms would need to work around my mother’s care and my NHS work, he said “no problem”. To promise is easy, to deliver is quality.I would have no problem recommending Steve @ Fox & Sons - you couldn’t be in better hands!

GoogleDon't give Fox and Sons contact details! 5 years after valued late father's property, still contacting me, (February 2021) despite being told property sold in 2015!! 2 weeks ago assured contact removed, yet phoned again today! Very distressing! Shame had to give 1* to write review! Read on as to why didn't use in 1st place!
BIG MISTAKE to get Fox & Son to value late father's home in September 2015!
Took over 90 minutes to value small 2 bed bungalow! Very pushy to get to use them!
No consideration that it was difficult and emotional time!
When informed valuer we had decided to use another independent, Bexhill agent, he was aggressive in way spoke. Couldn't understand why using that company, said making mistake as they wouldn't sell the property.
In fact the other company were very professional, considerate and caring and sold property in 3 weeks for more than expected price!
Fox & Sons phone at regular intervals, even though told them property sold! Every time ask to be taken off their list!
Today (March 2017) left upset and distressed when contact yet again, this time about several properties they had sold in street of my late father's home!
Fox & Sons obviously don't/can't update their information or care about people, just want to get properties on their books!

GoogleWe have viewed three properties now with Chris, who has been so refreshing, after the jaded experience other estate agents have left us with - he has been helpful, knowledgeable, respectful, and allowed us to view, without ever feeling pressured, while always offering support where needed. I can't thank him enough for his efforts on our behalf. Fox and Sons have also followed up on appointments with courteous enquiries, and checked with us if we would like to view new properties, they have been most helpful.

TrustpilotFox & Sons Hastings..
Fox & Sons Hastings... clownsWhere to start with these clowns. Appointed them to sell building land. They took photos of someone else's land that was no where near the property and I had to correct them before they published. In the odd 6-7 months they were marketing, they got a sale, but I barely received any updates unless I phoned them. They never responded to any emails and told me they never received them when I challenged them... ok then, even though I copied three of them every time. When I phoned it went to answer machine sometimes and nobody ever called back or if someone did answer, they would tell me they'd pass on a message, but still never called back. We had a sale at this point, but the builder was messing about. I decided to write a final demand email, so looked on line for the managers email address and low and behold... I've been emailing him all along, Daniel Cotterill. He's a partner and if he cannot be bothered to respond, what chance do you have. I phoned again for the last time before removing them and he answered the phone (caught him) and told him he had two weeks to get the contracts exchanged or they were getting kicked off.Two weeks passed and nothing, so I phoned them again the day before and spoke to someone else, left a message, but still no response/call back. They were dropped three days ago and I sent a scathing email to Fox and Sons Hastings, their head office, backers and IT team. No response, there's a surprise. Don't do it. Do not use these chancers at any cost. They will try to pull you in on an overpriced deal just to get you on the books. Pay more for a better service elsewhere, which to be honest will be everywhere else.Daniel Cotterill... you and your team are a discrace to the industry. How Fox & Sons Hastings are still trading is beyond me and I would put money on this sloppy outfit being out of business within 2 years.

TrustpilotFOX AND SONS ALLOW FRAUDSTER TO RENT MY PROPERTY
IF ONCE YOU HAVE READ THIS REVIEW AND YOU GO ON TO USE FOX AND SONS ESTATE AGENTS TO LET YOUR PROPERTY ON YOUR HEAD BE IT.I HAVE LET MY PROPERTY THROUGH THIS COMPANY DEALING WITH THE YEOVIL BRANCH AND NOW LEFT FACING A £15,000.00 BILL TO GET OUT A TENANT WHO FALSIFIED EMPLOYMENT RECORDS AND CREDIT REFERENCE. ALL CHECKED SUPPOSEDLY THROUGH THEIR TANANT REFERENCING COMPANY WHO THEY CLAIM IS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM BUT THEY ARE ALL 1 OF THE SAME. THEY ALSO CLAIM TALKING TO ANY BRANCH ACROSS THE COUNTRY THAT THEY ARE 1 OF THE BEST REFERENCING COMPAINIES IN THE BUSINESS, IT WAS CONFIRMED TO ME TODAY OVER THE PHONE FROM THEIR TENANT REFERENCING COMPANY (TLC) THAT IT IS EASY TO FALSIFY REFERENCES AS ITS ALL DONE BY EMAIL. WHEN I POINT OUT THAT ANYONE COULD MAKE UP AN EMAIL ADDRESS TO SAY THEY ARE A LANDLORD OR THEY EMPLOY THIS PERSON AND PAY HIM X AMOUNT THE PERSON ON THE PHONE FROM TLC AGREED. I HAVE RAISED COMPLAINTS WITH THEM VIA THEIR SYSTEMS AS REQUESTED BUT NO ONE FROM FOX AND SONS OR TLC WANT TO KNOW, I ASKED POLITELY FOR HELP BUT THEY JUST MADE ME WAIT LENGTHY PERIODS BEFORE REPLYING AND THEN BASICALLY JUST SAID THE REFERENCES LOOKED FINE TO THEM, I CARRIED OUT A FEW CHECKS MYSELF USING GOOGLE AND MY PHONE AND LOOKING AT THE TENANTS FAKE WORK REFERENCE AND FOUND OUT INFORMATION ABOUT HIM EASILY. IF I AM LUCKY THE FINAL BILL FOR UNPAID RENT AND COURT AND SOLICITORS FEES WILL BE AROUND £15,000 BUT WILL NOT BE SUPRISESED IF IT IS MORE. ITS A LONG SORRY STORY AND I HAVE NOT MENTIONED THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND THE ANXIETY THAT I AM NOW SUFFERING LET ALONE THE FINANCIAL LOSS. SO BEWARE AND TAKE HEED THERE WILL BE NOTHING BUT TURNED BACKS ONCE THINGS GO WRONG AND IT IS EASIER AND CHEAPER AND MOST OF ALL SAFER TO FIND YOUR OWN TENANT BY DOING A FEW SIMPLE CHECKS WITH CREDIT AGENCIES AND GOOGLE AND TALKING TO THE TENANT YOURSELF. I WOULD NEVER GO NEAR THEM AGAIN THEY ARE DISGRACEFUL.

TrustpilotGosport branch to avoid
Avoid the Gosport branch! What a terrible experience. I would score 0 but I can't.We paid for a property rental service and they did nothing for the duration. After leaving that service it appears that the tenant never got conclusion to a couple of issues over months and us as the landlord never received the full information and nor did be receive closure of some maintenance activity which drifted over months.Very poor communication, almost no-one answers the phone or respond to messages. They don't care about their service provision (to the tenant and the landlord).Avoid!!! We should have realised when the smarmy agent viewed the property in their shiny suit and gave a lot of sales chat. We chose them on the figures but in the end we appeared to be throwing them money for nothing in return.

TrustpilotNot even a congratulations or enjoy your new home.
I recently purchased a property with Fox & Sons in Hayward’s Heath and the service was poor. Firstly after enquiring online a number of times to view a property no one returned my calls or emails. My mother called and was lucky enough to finally book a viewing. The viewing went smoothly and the lady who carried out the viewing was good. During the purchasing process the updates from the agent was little to none, the seller and I spoke between ourselves to resolve any matters. On the day of completion no call or email was received from the office and on collection of the keys, they did not ask for my ID or name and happily handed the keys over. Not even a congratulations or enjoy your new home. I think a little bit of customer service training would not be wasted.

GoogleOnly selling a bungalow. Accurate assessment of value and condition. Suggested a price range, and property sold within this range despite the turmoil of government promoted collapse of the housing market. This was achieved through using modern methods of selling, akin to an auction. Very pleased with client interaction and information exchange. Owner not local so viewings were all handled by agent.

TrustpilotAfter our experience with this company…
After our experience with this company they easily deserve the above rating. We were with them for about about 8 weeks and during that time feedback was near non existent and the quality of photographs was just awful. He tried to push anyone through the door even though they were not interested. He used to say oh I'm just around the corner and I would like to show someone your property. When in fact the property matey was showing them they did not like and he thought oh well I'll chance his luck. However I am to blame because I should have invited 3 agencies and should have not been governed by their low commission.I honestly got what I paid for and that was zilch.UPDATEI sent my concerns to the office concern d and they have now dealt with all issues. However my review stands as this was a very honest account at the time.

TrustpilotWe have recently completed on our house…
What a great team of people. Communication has been been excellent. Right from the start of the process Todd, Steve and Tom have been fantastic. Special mention for Tom as he was always available to discuss any issues we had. He was honest and very reliable. He always seemed to go above and beyond, chasing all the relevant people, getting the information we needed to feel reassured. It has been a pleasure to have Tom managing our house sale and we would highly recommend Fox and Sons to anybody wanting to sell their house.

TrustpilotIf I could give zero stars I would
Avoid these in Hayward’s Heath. Plenty others that are much better. We received a number of calls promising the world, they did not deliver and they couldn’t even be bothered to keep us updated on our property. We had to chase a number of times to get our property on right move, they were not interested in communicating with us, felt as though they stop trying once we signed up. Regretted it immediately! Sent a complaint in and they refused to refund our cash back for the photographs they made us pay upfront for. Avoid.

Trustpilot*EASTBOURNE BRANCH ARE FANTASTIC*
*EASTBOURNE BRANCH ARE FANTASTIC*Dealt with various members of the team throughout our sale. Todd initially came round to value the property and draw up a floor plan, he knows the market very well and came fully prepared with previous sales on the road and in our area. Steve the branch manager called us as soon as we signed up to outline the time period for the whole process and to discuss things we could do to keep the transaction moving swiftly. Steve called us with various updates and was always on top of chasing solicitors and third parties when required. We also had several conversations with Tom and Freya in the office who again were keeping us up to date with all parts of the process as it happened. The team as a whole keep you very involved in the process and they don’t shy away from any issues that arise. If you want a stress free sale of your house then you can’t beat the team at Fox and Sons

TrustpilotRude, Unprofessional, Untruthful
I asked to view a property. The agent was over 10 mins late. We asked numerous questions, both verbally and in writing. I didn't receive any acknowledgement of the email or any reply. I asked again in writing. Received a response - the majority of the answers bore no resemblance to the truth. I challenged them. They blamed the Vendor. I asked to see the property again, the same agent was 10 minutes late. We asked to walk around the property (without him on our heels the whole time) - he replied 'what can you have to say that you can't say in front of me?' We put in an offer. No response. No acknowledgement. Nothing for three days. We put in another offer. Complete silence. Telephoned and asked to speak the Branch Manager. I was told he would ring me back shortly. Zero response.

TrustpilotEstate Agent half truths???
Fox & Sons clearly have difficulty representing the truth in their property summary and detailed description. Take whatever they write in their property particulars with a LARGE pinch of salt!!A property (6 Purzebrook Cottages Musbury Road, Axminster EX13 5JQ) was being advertised (21st Oct. 2020) as "Benefiting from countryside views to the front and enclosed rear garden". After complaining to Fox & Sons, they changed the details to "Benefiting from countryside views to the front from the top floor bedroom and enclosed rear garden". However, they still left the summary details with the original statement. In addition, the use of the 'and' conjunction in the sentence, implies that the rear garden has also a countryside view, when in fact it is enclosed with NO view! The information is misleading, as the countryside view can ONLY been seen from the 2nd floor velux window in the roof.I cannot recommend Fox and Sons.

TrustpilotThis agent is absolutely useless.
This agent is absolutely useless.I had them around to value a property that I was looking to list. They came around and looked but failed to call back with a valuation. They then called a week later to ask if I would like to list it with them. When I advised they had not given me a price, the lady said she would look into it and get back to me.She never did.I am now trying to buy a property they have listed.I had a viewing which they failed to do a follow up call on. When I called them with a question, they said they would call me back, which they failed to do. It then went under offer, but the sale fell through. At this point I thought they may call and say it was back on the market and was I still interested, as you would expect an agent trying to earn a fee to do. No call.Again I had to call them, leaving three messages on the answer phone to tell them I was still interested. None of which they replied to.Having experienced their service from being both a seller and buyer I would advise you to avoid this company.
