3 and half years later- 200+ snagging…
3 and half years later- 200+ snagging issues- a broken boiler(never installed to gas safe standard), insulation not installed from day one in most of house , hundreds of phone calls, 25 days plus taken off work , intense stress, fighting tooth and nail to get Crest to do anything and 10 plus official complaints ignored at all levels of Crest - no apology, compensation or response from Crest South - I would say its has been the worse thing I have ever bought. If you have to buy new I wouldn't touch Crest Nicholson with a barge poll. Shockingly bad service and attitude. Not what you want with biggest purchase of your life. Avoid for you own sanity. Cant believe this wont let me add no stars.

Deceitful and big bullies
If you are reading this then like me you are considering buying a home from Crest Nicholson. Like you, looking at the reviews, I originally thought that these were all a bunch disgruntled individuals who had collectively had bad luck and were venting it out. How I was wrong! We decided to purchase a property at Dylon Works in London; after much haggling with the sales team we agreed on a price that was a good deal. However, this is the only good part of our story, after the price was agreed and the reservation form signed / fees paid, our hell began! We spent 3 days trying to iron out and agree the terms mentioned in the reservation form which included:- Unreasonable conditions such as a requirement for the sale being completed within 28 days (the national average for completion of sales in UK is 8 weeks)- Our discount from the list price would be revoked if above is not met, we challenged this and they said it was unlikely if the sale was not completed the discount would be cancelled- Incorrect service fees included and parking fees that was never mentioned was added onAfter much to'ing and fro'ing, we signed the document, then were told that we could not do a snagging survey on the property until legal completion?!?! I had to write to the CEO to get permission for this in the end. After this things were quiet but i made a conscious effort to give the sales team an update on the progress, however after our home demonstration we were suddenly sent an email saying that the sale was being cancelled! When i asked why and what the reason for this was they said that they did not believe we were fully committed to completing the sale and that we would not achieve the 28 day deadline set! Yes, the same deadline we argued to not have in the reservation agreement...We were ultimately told by the Sales manager that the reason we were being pressured was because the Sales team needed to achieve the sales target by a specific date and that there was a half year close for the company. As a consequence we were paying the price and having our sale cancelled! Can you imagine how ridiculous this was?I escalated to all levels within the company only to have my complaints fall on deaf ears.Bottom line...I cannot tell you to not buy from them, if you genuinely want to buy a property from them remember that you are walking to landmine of trouble with Crest. A couple of pointers that I can provide if you do proceed to buy:1. Use your own solicitors! Trust me this was the biggest saving grace!2. Do not believe ANYTHING the sales team say - the change their tune on every breath3. Do an independent snagging survey, it will give you peace of mind4. Make sure you do not assume that the property is yours until you physically have the keys in your hands.Good luck!

Crest the “premium developer” that shows no premium side or develops good houses
Where to start?! So on putting money down for a plot on Oakgrove, I then received a call from a different sales lady telling me she’d accidentally sold my plot to another couple. My build was delayed by 2 months and the house was rushed to finish. When I got my keys (except the back door which Crest had “misplaced”) we found 166 items that were not correctly finished. We met with Darren Lewis (Customer Service director) in January and his opening line was “it’s not a million pound house” which considering Crest is a premium developer (according to their website) showed his stupidity. Moved in around April after leaving keys with him to fix the issues including (scratched floors in all wet rooms, scratched doors, scratched windows, wonky plastering, ill fitted kitchen cupboards etc). What really highlights their ineptness was the fact that he subsequently gave our key to a contractor and even when we moved in they continued to let themselves in despite us telling them not to (found a hard hat on our landing one evening after returning from work). We demanded keys back, he claimed they had been “misplaced” and advised we change our locks. We told them they had to pay. Highlight of how broken this company is has to be the repair team that were sent to fix issues over the next 18 months, stating that Crest builders just rush jobs knowing full well there is the repair team behind them to fix their mess, they get paid for completing on time, repair guys do their job and fix their bad work. Absolute joke of a developer, hence all the protests held most weekends at their sales office in Oakgrove. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Friendly and professional approach
I value the friendly, kind, supportive and professional manner that staff treat customers. They make a stressful experience of buying a property pleasant and smooth.

Westvale Park customer care worse I have ever seen
The customer care is so poor ... they don’t reply emails, they don’t call you back to let you know if the offer is accepted because they just play a game. They basically ignore you thinking that you are desperate and will accept any deal.... everything is wrong with them. We went there twice and was the biggest mistake we’ve ever done. Never seen a manager that you can talk to ... they hide behind emails and the sales team in the office is just rude and grumpy. They have a potential costumer that is willing to pay lots of money and they treat you like rubbish. Avoid avoid avoid

AVOID - Currently scheduled to be six months late...
Bournville Park, B31 Birmingham.Exchanged end of March with a September/October 2018 estimated completion. That became October/November... which became "no later than two weeks before Christmas"... which has become March 2019. They simply failed to get the roof on before the bad weather came and the property got soaked throughout. Best to avoid Crest Nicholson if you don't wish to be sofa surfing with family and friends across the months they fail to meet their own deadlines. After they failed to meet the Autumn deadline, my mortgage offer had expired and had to be reissued. Communication was poor from summer until very recently, after I complained the only updates I've received are in response to my requests... no updates to say there was issues, no regular updates as standard. Now I receive fortnightly build updates after having a moan.... I've been informed this is standard with Miller Homes. A complaint has gone to my solicitor. No compensation of any kind received from Crest. Will their latest deadline become March?

Don’t buy Crest Nicholson developed properties, otherwise you will have serious problems when you sell it.
Don’t buy Crest Nicholson developed properties, otherwise you will have serious problems when you sell it.The problem lies in the management company they set up. Once the properties are completed, Crest Nicholson set up “empty” management companies so that they can sell their properties. However, most of such management companies are just shell companies, meaning that they are actually non-existing and do nothing. They don’t maintain the communal areas at all, and never appoint any managing agents to do on behalf of them. When you try to sell the properties, this management company issue will NOT allow you to complete the conveyancing process, because almost all the mortgage lenders pay attentions to this issue. Or, even worse, your buyer has to be cash buyers only and also who doesn’t care the management company. The list of such “empty” management companies (over 50!!) that Crest Nicholson set up can be found on their website "Crest Nicholson Group Companies."If you find that the management company in your land register is one of these companies and they haven’t done any maintaining work, you will have serious problems when you sell it. You can try their customer service 0808 168 6168, but their attitudes are basically that no update can be given on every excuse. For myself, at the beginning, they referred to a managing agent saying that they should be responsible. After I phoned the managing agent, I found that they were not responsible at all and never did anything on behalf of Crest. Then, I told Crest, and no update was given over 1 month. Then, the customer service told me that a development director started to work on this issue and had meetings discussing this issue. And then, coincidentally this director “was out of office and had limited access to emails” right after the meeting. Until now, three months since I first raised this issue, called, emailed and then sent a letter, there is still no update at all. More importantly, I didn’t ask them to maintain the communal area, although it has NOT been maintained in the past 8 years! All I am asking is some basic information and confirmation from the management company, so that we can complete the conveyancing.

Professional and friendly team that is always there to help
Unlike other rather negative comments, I find Crest Nicholson a brilliant company, in particular their sale persons (Mercedes, Mayer, Judy, Sandra) and the Site Manager (Judy) at the Faringdon Field and their Customer Service team. From the day when I made the first inquiry about their houses over 1 year ago, to contract exchange, to moving in, and to present, all the staff members whom I have spoken to in person or over the phone have been very helpful and friendly. They always try their best to help me sort out any issues that I had with my purchase of plot 28. I love the house I have bought from Crest Nicholson and am very pleased that they are making my settle-in as smooth as possible. Their hard work and professionalism deserve to be recognised. This review is informed by their consistent professional work ethics as demonstrated among the staff members over a period of time. Thus, I will certainly recommend Crest Nicholson to anyone.

CREST NICHOLSON
CREST NICHOLSON DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BUY FROM THESE HOME BUILDERS, THEY ARE INEPT, AND THEIR AFTER SALES CARE IS QUITE FRANKLY A JOKE!!! I PURCHASED A PROPERTY OFF PLAN THROUGH CREST NICHOLSON AND I AM NOW TRYING TO SELL IT. I HAVE NOW BEEN INFORMED THAT ALTHOUGH MY PROPERTY HAS A SUN DECK (ABOVE A CAR PORT) WHICH IS ACCESSED VIA PATIO DOORS FROM MY LOUNGE (ON THE FIRST FLOOR) WHICH I HAVE BEEN USING SINCE PURCHASE THAT IT IS NOT ON MY TITLE PLAN OF MY HOME …. AS CREST FORGOT TO INCLUDE IT …. AND EVEN WORSE PUT IT ON SOMEONE ELSES DEEDS!!!!! I USED THEIR OWN RECCOMENDED SOLICITORS, WHO CONVENIENTLY MISSED THIS TO GET IT THROUGH IN 28 DAYS!!! NOW I CANNOT SELL MY HOME UNTIL THIS IS CORRECTED AND ALTHOUGH CREST NICHOLSON ACCEPT THEY MADE THE MISTAKE REFUSE TO HELP IN ANY WAY!!!! PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY OR RISK FACING THE CONSEQUENCES

CREST ARE CROOKS
If I could give zero stars a would. Crest are just total crooks and a disgusting company to deal with. No morals at all. We bought the house in October and we are still without internet, we cannot use our shower and the property was suppose to come with wireless heating and lighting but none have been provided. We have a long snagging list. Don’t go near these crooks. They take your money and are never seen again. Disgrace.

shocking customer service and build…
shocking customer service and build quality.i would score zero if there was the option.westvale park horley do not buy from this company, my home was not insulated correctly , lots of faults still not rectified and their senior management hid behind emails and do not want to talk to their unhappy customers, nhbc now involved.weeks to reply to emails , no sense of urgency from day one, the stairway railing fell on my son after 10 mins of moving in, they couldnt even be bothered to come back that same day to sort out.guttering fell off the roof and just missed my wife and son, had to be fixed 3 times and still leaks.my sons room is sometimes 5 degrees colder than the rest of the house(coldest winter for over 25 years) they made me feel like i was being a pain until in the end i was proved correct when they removed plasterboard to find no insulation present, no mention of the word sorry all they care about is taking your money and running. do yourself a favour if your thinking of buying on westvale park, horley, surrey do not buy from CREST NICHOLSON, You have been warned.

Welcoming and friendly sales advisors
Welcoming, friendly and helpful sales advisors, who guided us through the paper work completion. Some of the forms, however, are not well designed or “user” friendly. For example, one required our current address to be completed three times in different sections.
Thank you for your review and feedback, we will look pass on your feedback to see how this can be improved in the future.

It is a worrying time for Leaseholders.
We have enjoyed our flat in Harbourside Bristol very much but are now faced with huge fire insurance bills and repair costs as the cladding is defective. It is very short sighted of Crest Nicholson to leave out mandatory fire safety measures to increase profits and it will come to haunt them. Another unpalatable fact is that the Freeholders are making large profits by Commission on the Insurance bills. £70,000 in our case.

Awful aftercare once the houses are finished and the show home is vacated
A housing estate in Hereford which was completed a long time ago has been left with dangerous access roads. The contractor has never returned to finish the surface and has left dangerous ironworks which has now damaged my new car to the tune of £1000!!!The roads are so bad the council refuse to adopt them...……..Crest Nicholson and the contractor Newpool Construction are hell bent on blaming eachother and neither will sort the roads or agree to pay for the damage to my car!
