I have a sink that has been leaking for a year which has now caused mold. The cabinet is now starting to fall apart and the lino is lifting in this area. The site manager has looked at this and just said 'can't prove that this was us'. IT IS A NEW BUILDElectric box on the front of the house has never had a working door and flies open in the wind. This must be a HSE issue. Had to clean the gutter of render as they were not cleaned and only noticed when it rained heavily. The cages around the gas pipes have no screws holding them to the walls. Is this a feature for my child to play with? The bannister on the stairs is splitting in half!! Painting not finished above the doors. The underside of the sockets are not filled in. Turf laid on sub soil. Living next to the active site I am seeing dumper and forklift drivers texting whilst driving. Heras fencing is not locked over the weekend..... This is next to occupied houses where children live. ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES

service charge rip off/fleecehold

I have paid £7500 in unnecessary service charges that will never end because Crest Nicholson did a deal with the council whereby the council gets a big back hander for allowing the development. We also pay full council tax and our road is now adopted but still the service charges don’t stop! Can’t sell house because no one wants to sign up for uncapped service charge for a life time. Don’t buy crest or any new build because they are all the same rip off.

disappointed that no discounts werel offered even after we explained that we had to agree on a much lower price on our property due to high interest rates and down turn in the market. As late in buying at site felt more could have been done to help us and accommodate our situation more empathy

(Morton Park)- Glad I chose CREST!!! My Friends envy on me now :)

Very Organized & helpful team. I was well informed about each & every process & was helped to get mortgage & paper work done without any hassle. I was invited for multiple appointments prior to moving into the property and was briefed in detail about the progress & process involved. When I told about this to my friends even they said Crest seems to be more organized & detailed as compared to other developers. The size of the bedrooms are way better than what I saw with other developers prior to finalising my purchase with CREST. Lounge area is quite big. I am really happy & please with my purchase with CREST. Thanks a lot Luke (Morton Park) for your help throughout.

Avoid

Avoid - poor workmanship and so many problems as the building gets older that are discovered to be due to it not being built to specification. Forget buying a new build from them and in no way think an NHBC guarantee will help.

Ok for a large builder, but could improve...

Having purchased a new home in late 2018, we are nearing the anniversary. We were fortunate to not have to move in immediately, so got to take advantage of the workers still being on site and we managed to get the obvious snagging done over the first 3-4 weeks, so when we moved in there was little left to do. Some of that is still left to do...If we have one issue it is the contractors on site and the snagging contractors (not always the same) do have different priorities. An example would be that we’ve apparently had internal door ordered on numerous occasion but when the contractor gets to site to fit them, they are just not on site as it is believed they have been taken for the houses being built rather than set aside. So for that I do believe the systems on site could be better. That said, for a large house the issued we have faced after the first round of snagging was done, those we’ve found since being here are relatively few so we do feel it could be worse. One thing to be wary about is the quality of the bricklayers. The work we have on show (much of the house is rendered) has very poor and sloppy pointing which does detract from the property overall. We are soon to get Crest Nicholson back around to go through the list of snags we have outstanding and want dealt with, but have been ok to live with since moving in - and have hopes it will be done fairly smoothly.

Crest Nicholson has be best flats in the market

My experience with Crest Nicholson has been amazing! Crest Nicholson has given us total support from day one, when we decided to buy for the first time we were very apprehensive about trusting a developer, but Crest Nicholson shows us total transparency since placing the offer. Crest Nicholson live up to the higher standards, not only offering support with Help to Buy but also recommending a group of trusted advisors to close the sale in less than 2 months. Looking at the flats, the finishes are incredible, from the soft-close drawers to the integrated Sonos system. I will strongly recommend anyone looking to buy a property to look at what Crest Nicholson has to offer.

Hoadlands Grange Purchased 10 months…

Purchased 10 months ago & had nothing but problems. I have previously purchased new homes and expect snagging. But with this Builder, Building Regs not adhered to ( I was not the only plot) non compliant with B.Regs Approved Doc H and B.Regs Approved Doc J. I am in dispute with this builder, their customers service teams act as blockers, work completed by Contractors not checked by site management to ensure compliance with building regs. Formal written Complaint sent over 8 weeks ago to Customer Services Director ( S Burke) after previous two complaints were ignored; still no response received from S. Burke. I would not purchase, or recommend anyone purchase a home from this builder again, they brand themselves as a “... place the customer at the heart of everything”, “.. finished to the highest standards” and I could go on ...... do not believe this builders branding and what they state are their Core Principles!

Crest come recommended from me

Nothing but good things to say about the people at Crest - Smooth from the point of me paying my deposit on my house to moving in, Like any new build house there were a few small snagging issues but nothing that wasn't resolved in a timely Manor :) Chris, Fiona and Sasha all have gone above and beyond in making me feel very settled and happy in my new home - Would highly recommend and no concerns in using them again if I ever move

Mulberry View, Plot 74

Right after the completion the Site manager was doing my after sales and the things were running better (at least he answered my e-mails). In July he sent me a message telling that from this date I needed to contact a new e-mail to solve my issues. I said ok for the new requests, but the old ones that I have aligned with him before it's fair for him to solve. So since July 26th I've trying contact in this new e-mail, copying the site manager, without any return. For me this is a respect absence, since no one answer me. My requests are:1. Main Toileta. There are black points in the mirror of the main bathroom that cannot be cleaned. Crest said that they will replace it. Please let me know when. 2. Bedroom 3a. There’s a crack in the window base of the front right hand side bedroom. 3. Outsidea. There’s a loose roof tile in the back part of the house. b. there is a gutter that we believe is broken or undocked because the water is falling in bulk from the roof. c. Water in front of garage when it’s raining.d. my house is infected with insects on the roof topBesides that, this week I used for the first time de second oven and I realized that there’s a black piece in the right hand side one that is missing in the left side oven. And finally my doors and windows are not opening and when Crest came to my house asked me to be in contact with a supplier that booked a visit this week in my house to solve the issues. But no one appeared and after many contact tentative, one lady said me by phone that the company shot it down, and I needed to align a new supplier to solve the issues with Crest. All this points I already have sent to them without any response. Could you please help me to give some assistance? Thanks in advance.Karina Carrico.

Amazing House and Development !!

I recently purchased a property at the Lancaster Grange, Bricket Wood, St Albans development. The standard and quality was amazing on handover and the small amount of snags were resolved quickly and efficiently after the move in date. The site has recently won a top NHBC pride in the job award and this shows with the street appeal, quality of finish and external living environment. All the staff were helpful and friendly from the point of sale through to handover and if I had any issues, they were resolved quickly. I would definitely buy with them again!

Appalling experience. Never buy from Crest Nicholson

This whole experience of buying one of their houses has been a total nightmare. I have an extensive snagging list and despite repeated calls and emails, Crest have washed their hands of it. They have taken my money and refuse to do any of the things that need doing due to shoddy workmanship. People are amazed at how badly things have been done. Despite repeated emails and calls over at least 9 months they refuse to do a thing. This has been, and still is, the most shocking and stressful experience that me and my family have ever been through.Avoid this company like the plague- they really don't give a toss. Looks like their profits are falling, and with service like this they really deserve to go down the pan.

CUSTOMER CARE IS AWFUL AND QUALITY OF…

CUSTOMER CARE IS AWFUL AND QUALITY OF BUILD IS TERRIBLEi bought a 2 bedroom flat in the Crest Nicholson Riverside development in Bath . It was a resale so the flat was only 2 years old so conveniently out of Crest warranty. The decking on my terrace is buckled and needs to be replaced, its due to poor drainage from the flat above. After repeated calls to crest non of which were answered over 2 years ago I asked a structural engineer to look at it- he was shocked at how poor the quality was- the drainage needed to be re done. After months of calling and emailing- I eventually paid for builder to do the repair work to at least stop further damage to my terrace. My flat is now rented - imagine my surprise when the tenant called to say major structural work being done by Crest was going on in the flat above. Reovations on poorly fitted windows, poor construction of the terrace, etc. No one thought to inform me!. This started in March 2019. Tennant ( a mum with a 3 year old and expecting another) experiencing drilling, debris falling on to the terrace, damp, humidity due to the plastering). Barrage of calls from me, the agent who manages my flat. When you do get through - persistence is needed- I got "will speak to the site manager and find out" ( no follow up) , "we have new system you should have been sent the schedule of works (no I haven't), "oh the email I have for you is wrong" ( then sent schedule of works going on on someone else's house next door!). Apparently Crest are going to make repairs- but since I have have had no communication, no discussion, I am now at a complete loss as to what to do. My request is so simple- What is the Schedule of Work Crest is doing in my block? When will they do the work in my flat. Apparently not so simple as still don't have 5 months, at least 20 calls and 20 emails later. ITS A WALL OF SILENCE

Appauling Attitude

Nothing to do with their builds, a Crest driver smashed my wing mirror to pieces, witnessed by 2 of my neighbours, he got out og his van checked his own vehicle and then drove off, we live in the same road, I emailed the office to recieve an abrupt reply with no hint of an apology.I think this about sums up the attitude of Crest Nicholson, firms like this are cancer on the anus of the world.

Don’t buy a Penthouse from Crest Nicholson

Having bought a Penthouse apartment at the Riverside development in Bath in 2014 we have had nothing but problems from literally the first day. True we did have a period of about 18 months when everything seemed OK then things started to just fall apart. One morning I walked onto the decking outside the master bedroom and fell through. The boards were rotten. Mistakenly I should have involved a solicitor but didn’t. The hole was patched up but then I realized that other areas were the same. It took 18 months and more than 50 emails to eventually get the complete decking replaced. In the meantime smaller issues started. The splash back behind the hob cracked, was replaced and cracked again. I’m the end I tiled the area at my own rather than go through the hassle and another 30 emails. Next the sink literally fell out in the kitchen, this wasn’t covered by Crest so that needs to be replaced. The intercom has failed twice, again “it’s the unit, nothing to do with us” (£400 a time). However the biggest issue still on going is the leak in the family bathroom. This started in December 2016 and STILL has not been resolved. 150 emails and me just about at my wits end and Crest still can’t sort it.I would NEVER ever consider buying a property from Crest Nicholson, the worst customer care in the UK.

Do not buy from Crest Nicholson

Do not buy from Crest Nicholson, they act like your best friend whilst your buying the property then once you have moved in they don’t want to know. I bought in Westvale Park, Horley in the seven months of living here they is not a week that goes buy where I have not spent hours chasing Crest, no sound proofing installed so fridge freezer vibrate through the lounge wall and ceiling into the master bedroom every time the fridge condenses, central heating does not work properly as pipe work is missing , bandits - the customer service director said to me by repairing what is not there it will come from Crest Nicholson’s profit - too right it will Avoid this company like the plague

Do not buy a semi or terrace from Crest…

Do not buy a semi or terrace from Crest by far ( lots of investigation done ) the worst absolute worst party walls in history , you may as well be living in the same room as next door neighbour. Have been to many other new homes and crest are the worst, 1980.s Barratt home's are even better . For your own sanity do not buy a joined property from Crest you will regret it or the rest of your occupancy. We are desperately trying to sell up .

Don’t Buy from Crest Nicholson

Don’t Buy from Crest NicholsonWe purchased a Crest Nicholson ground floor apartment at Arborfield Green near Reading and both the standard of workmanship and aftercare service has been appalling. Firstly between the purchase and us moving in Crest changed the boundary line of our block without any notification, so we haven’t got what we thought we’d bought. The workmanship was bad so I had to get my father involved who is a chartered surveyor to produce a FIVE page snagging list. Crest aftercare sales person tried to argue some was ‘settlement’ but we didn’t accept this; it was clearly bad workmanship. External windows and doors were damaged; glass was scratched. Every room had a list of things.Crest couldn’t even get the plot numbers correct and we spent nine months arguing with the electricity supply company because we were being incorrectly charged, all down to Crest incompetence. We allowed Crest a couple of months to sort things before we moved in as the snagging list was so extensive, but some eighteen months later only half of the snagging has been rectified; their workman seem to attend to one item and make a mess of something else. For instance the wood effect flooring started to lift, so they damaged the skirtings whilst repairing the floor. Crest are trying every trick in the book to get out of doing the snagging but we’re not wearing this. They send lots of emails often quoting the NHBC but the work just doesn’t get done.
