I can honestly say, after dealing with many estate agents over the last month, nobody showed as much care and understanding as Bridgfords. Fraud risk

Refused to return deposit after tenancy ended, eventually complying four months later after we enacted formal action. Ignored all our calls and emails, and during the little communication I could get with them I was treated with more rudeness and dishonesty than I have ever experienced. In particular Deposits Manager Paddy and Leanne consistently treated us with the utmost contempt. Probably some sort of illegal operations behind the scenes. Avoid!

I recently moved into Brigford property and I can't express how grateful I am for the fantastic support from Lucy and Murray. From the moment I began the application process, they were incredibly helpful and attentive to my needs. Lucy guided me through all the paperwork with clarity and patience, ensuring I understood everything. On move-in day, Murray went above and beyond to assist me, he helped with any questions I had and made sure everything was in order. To top it all off, I received a delightful box of chocolates as a sweet welcome gift, which added such a nice touch! Their friendly demeanor and professionalism truly made my transition seamless. What can I say about Bridgfords in Bamber Bridge, what an absolutely fabulous team of professionals to deal with especially Jane Catterall! This amazing lady has gone above and beyond for us firstly regarding the sale of my mum's house after she passed away, and now ourselves. Without Jane with her knowledge and wealth of experience our house move would have collapsed, she did everything in her power to get the job done, she went above and beyond, and is also a very understanding and caring individual remaining professional throughout. Where do I start? From the constant lies to the rude unprofessional behaviour, they have put me through hell. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Due to the noise issues I had where I was living at the time, when I first viewed the property I was told I was going to be on the top floor of the building and that there's only 1 person living next to me. I made them aware of the noise issues I was having in the property I was living in at the the time and that I am paying £600 to get out of the contract. They told me this property will have no noise issues and that its on the top floor. To my horror, the day I moved in I can hear loud banging noises from above where I can see the ceilings moving. To my surprise I then found out there were 2 people living above me, in what's used to be an attic of a house. The person showing me was clearly clueless about the building and they had completely lied to me about the entire place. The property was inhabitable condition. There was absolutely no insulation for heat or noise. I could hear every footstep and noise from the flats above, below and next door. The place was so vile that I can hear every movement, conversations, door slamming and banging. There were huge gaps within the building that the bathroom always stank of other people's toilets. Mould and damp everywhere. They never helped me or told me that I needed to take my metre readings in the most horrible creepy basement I've ever seen. I'm still paying off an extortionate amount on bills to this DAY because of how freezing the building was and how much it cost to run the flat. I had complained about the noise issues consistently since day 1 and it took them 5 months to get the carpets in the flat above fitted but nothing was resolved. WORST 6 months of my life - it really affected my health as I couldn't sleep. To top this off, they didn't return my deposit for 2 month after I had moved out. Megan and Katherine was abysmal to say the least. Had extremely bad attitude, incompetent (they had actually lost the keys to the flat), and just pure rude over the phone. I feel really bad for whoever is unfortunate enough to live there after me. Corrupt estate agents like these really needs to be shut down.

I cannot rate the team at Bridgfords Stockport highly enough, they really were incredible and I have no hesitation in recommending them. Sophie and Megan were amazing, as were all their colleagues who I dealt with during the recent sale of my house. They were fast, efficient, professional, and friendly. I told them what I was seeking and timescales and they delivered even sooner than I had anticipated possible, which was wonderful. From the marketing of my house on Rightmove to completion was less than 3 months. I am pretty clueless about these things and so I was quite anxious. They answered my many silly questions and went out of their way to reassure me when I got a bit bamboozled in the process. So much so, they made the process straightforward and were the glue holding it all together. Chasing the buyer, their solicitor, my solicitor etc. What struck me most is that when they said they would call or do something, they did it. I find that rare in service industries nowadays so having them actually do what they say, when they say it, without issue or drama was a breath of fresh. Thank you so much for all everyone at Bridgfords did in the sale of my house! You’re a fantastic team of people and excellent at what you do.

Great team and service anything I needed Sophie and Gemma help me with it couldn't ask for a better service would recommend them to anyone so glad i went with them to sell my house thanks alot since this has happened there solicitors has been struck off ive had bills of over 3k from unpaid taxes and fees stay away from them plus over 1500 in new solicitor fees attached Commission fee invoice for the sale of the above mentioned property which was due upon completion. I highly recommend Bridgfords Stockport for buying and selling properties. I recently sold my house through Bridgfords and purchased a property they had on their books. It was a difficult transaction due to the vendor of the property I was buying, but Ruari for seven months was an absolute superstar and never waivered in his support and help to get this over the line. He constantly kept on top of the purchase, constantly chased on my behalf with the company selling the property and kept me up to date daily when I was tearing my hair out. On the sale of my property Sophie was absolutely brilliant, kept me constantly updated and was helpful and friendly throughout. Both Ruari and Sophie helped throughout making a stressful situation easier by being interested, engaged and super helpful right until the end. I wholeheartidly recommend them both for anyone looking to sell or purchase a property in Stockport.

Some things never change - still shoddy

Some things never change. We bought our house through Bridgfords 5 years ago- not a good experience. They don’t answer the phone or answer emails. Today, as we’ve decided to sell the house, I thought to myself "maybe they’ve changed." I’ve called them 4 X, each time being redirected to an answering machine.I’ve emailed them and no reply. A continuation of a shoddy service continues. The 2 other estate agents I’ve contacted have replied more or less straight away and visits have been arranged. I honestly don’t know how Bridgfords survives in the current economic climate.

2 month+ deposit return delay

I rented a property managed by Bridgfords and moved out two months ago. I still have not received my deposit back. Since moving out, I have called and emailed the branch multiple times to follow up. My calls have been hung up on, and my emails have gone unanswered. For an agency that expects tenants to meet strict deadlines and requirements throughout the tenancy, this level of service at the end of the process has been disappointing. I would think carefully before renting through Bridgfords based on this experience.

Julia Olczak was extremely attentive, easy to contact and an absolute pleasure to deal with. We ended up having a change in circumstances and not going ahead, however she was extremely understanding of our situation. Julia isn’t just trying to fill properties quickly, she tries to match the best possible tenant to their ideal property. I’ve dealt with many agencies when being shown properties, and I would say Julia has had the best customer service approach. I would highly recommend getting in touch with Julia if you are looking in Stockport or surrounding areas.

We had such a bad experience with another on line agent in 2022, so much so we took our house off the market for almost 12 months. We decided to try again and so glad we did Bridgfords can’t fault them, Sophie own main contact was fantastic, she kept everything going and we completed and moved in, in 9 weeks. Raury was also excellent, he took us round our new house a couple of times and steered our purchaser around the process. Learn from us, good estate agent, is worth their weight in goal, so happy with the whole process and can’t recommend Bridgefords, Stockport branch enough, what a team, thank you so much 😊

1 Star is too many stars in my opinion...

I approached Bridgfords and Michael Poole last year to see about selling my late fathers Bungalow. I found their sales tactics to be a bit off, immediately trying to upsell me services I personally felt had no value, insisting it would make every difference. I begged to differ and having a bad gut feeling about them and a positive experience with Michael Poole I chose Michael Poole instead. Then came the phone calls trying to get me to switch and saying they would do a better job. After the second phone call I made it clear I was definitely not going to change my mind and asked them to remove my number from their records and not call me again. I received several other phone calls 2 or 3 weeks apart from each other and after repeatedly asking them to not call me again, the final call I received I told them (not very nicely) that if they contacted me one more time I would report them to the police for harassment as I had made it clear on several occasions I didn't want them to contact me.

I completed on my property on 10th august. After numerous attempts at trying to buy a property for the last 3 years and numerous let downs (no fault of our own) I finally came across Bridgfords and made an enquiry on a property. I dealt with Sophie at Bridgfords who was lovely and honestly made the process so simple and stress free. After letting my previous mortgage advisor go Sophie also informed me of their in house mortgage advisor Gareth and again he was such a huge help and had a mortgage offer for me within 2 days of meeting him. Sophie kept me me updated throughout the whole process and when she was off some of her colleagues also helped me with any enquires and again they were lovely. (Ellie & Ruari). Overall I cannot fault my Experience with everyone at Bridgfords especially Sophie and Gareth and I cannot recommend them enough. I only wish I found them sooner and maybe I wouldn’t have had such an awful experience previously at trying to buy a property.
