Mather Marshall are an independent estate agency with four offices in Hertfordshire and have selling and letting homes since 1990. The Stevenage Office is situated at the top of The Old Town High Street and is often the first agent buyers come to when walking into The Old Town from the station. We have an experienced team with a wealth of knowledge of Stevenage and the surrounding areas. We are able to offer free advice on marketing of properties for sale or rent. Dear Martyn We have read your review, and whilst we accept everyone is entitled to their own opinion, we do not believe your account accurately reflects this tenancy. If you would like to discuss this, please feel free to contact us directly. However, the landlord spent a considerable amount of money on maintenance, trying to ensure condensation within the property was kept to a minimum during your tenancy. The property is a 1900 solid brick property, so the nature of its construction can cause issues if the property is not heated and ventilated correctly. The landlord of the property has installed a constant airflow condensation fan, had the exterior walls repointed, additional air bricks installed, and had at least two professional surveys undertaken to see if the condensation issue could be improved. Both reports detailed that all necessary work had been completed. However, condensation is often caused predominantly by the way we live in premises. At the conclusion of your tenancy, your landlord has also agreed to release the entire holding deposit back to you despite the independent report recommending some area of tenant responsibility. As mentioned above, please feel free to contact us to discuss as review sites are not appropriate for these issues bit; we felt it important to put a balance opinion forward concerning your landlord's efforts.
