Landlord review

I have previously bought and sold through DB Roberts and had a very positive experience. I have recently become the landlord of a property and approached the lettings department to assist me with the management of my property. I was really pleased with the service I have received from them in particular Lisa and Megan who I have been dealing with. Their knowledge, professionalism and attention to detail has been outstanding. From initial contact, getting everything in place, advertising, referencing tenants has all been a smooth process. I feel my property is in safe hands and looking forward to working with them going forward.

As first-time buyers, Alex and Adam were helpful, responsive and made genuine efforts to keep things moving. Despite there being no chain, the process took around four months, which was longer than we had expected and at times frustrating. Much of the delay came from the legal side, where the solicitor had been recommended by the estate agent. While this was outside Alex and Adam’s direct control, it did make the purchase feel more drawn out than anticipated. In the final stages, Alex was particularly helpful pushing to ensure the completion date was before Christmas. Without that persistence, the process would likely have taken significantly longer. Overall, they are a good estate agency that was let down by association rather than by the service provided by Alex and Adam.

What a great team. Dan was very professional when advising us on the valuation of our property. Gary the photographer was friendly and pics were excellent and showed our house at its best. Rental - when the tenancy isn't working

Like insurance, you only know how good a Letting Agent is when there is a problem with the tenancy. Have rented the same property via DB Roberts for nearly 20 years with few problems with changeovers, etc. Sadly the last tenant didn't fulfil the obligations of their agreement, including non-payment of rent. DB Roberts were extremely thorough with their paperwork and dealing with the tenant. They also arranged the flat clean-up and refurbishment, in a very short window, so that the property could be returned to the market within 10-days. As a private landlord, this took a huge amount of the stress away. Would suggest any landlords strongly consider take out the rent guarantee and insurance, as getting property returned is only getting more complex

Adam was able to smoothly walk my Nan through her sale and achieved the asking price within just 3 days of the house being put up online. Adam spent time explaining everything calming and effectively to my Nan who by her own admission doesn’t understand the process and Adam since the sale has taken it upon himself to assist my Nan with dealing with Solicitor whilst I live so far away.

Do not recommend!

Our experience with DB Roberts was very disappointing to say the least. Alarm bells started ringing when the valuers insisted on marketing the property too high; I gave the benefit of the doubt with this but it quickly became evident that the price was too high when I didn't have a single viewing for a month. Once I reduced the property price, I sold only for the buyer to pull out after 6 weeks. The buyer pulled out via email and DB Roberts failed to communicate this with us for a number of days.

We have been very impressed with the service we have received from DB Roberts, Stafford. As advised, we had three estate agents come round to value the property. The other two estate agents came across as pushy, over confident, wanted to be mates, discussing holidays. Adam, the manager at DB Roberts, was quietly confident, professional but not pushy. He didn't give us the sales talk, didn't fetch out loads of print outs of similar properties in the area for comparison. He gave us a good estimate of what the property was worth, without going over the top, he was complimentary, business like, and we found him reassuring. His staff have kept us informed of viewings, feedback and gave us sound advice. We sold 2 months after it went on the market. Excellent result.
