We recently sold and purchased properties through Connells. Of the two the sale was more important. In choosing Connells for this, we had valuations from numerous agents in the town. There were high valuations and low valuations (home in the £1m+ bracket). Chris came in right in the middle and his reasoning made sense. He has a insightful understanding of the market and a sheer passion for his work that was unmatched. This made Connells the obvious choice for us. Once on the market we worked closely with both Chris and Natalia. Natalia looked after the diary and many of the viewings. These viewings can be stressful as you want the presentation of the property to be when its at its absolute best every time. Natalia is incredibly skilled at balancing the needs of buyers to view at a time best for them but also considerate to the vendors with an understanding of the work involved. Thanks to Natalia's list of buyers on file we had a lot of viewings out of the gate and received an offer within 3 weeks of going to market. The journey from offer to exchange ( managing a chain as we had ) required a lot of communication. This communication ensured any issues that arose were dealt with quickly and professionally. They were both always contactable or came back to us very quickly. They know how to sell property and they are great to deal with. Always professional and personable. We went on to buy a property that happened to on with Connells. Again it was a pleasure dealing with Natalia. The phrase highly recommended is over used these days and looses some of it meaning. So all I would say is, if you want to sell or buy a home quickly. If you want to deal with an honest, friendly, professional team, Connells is your choice. If you are a gambler, if you like a bit of danger in your life and if you have a fondness of holding music, go somewhere else.

Avoid Connells. I have rented for over 12 years and have never had a deposit dispute or deduction. Connells pursued a claim of more than £1,700 against us (for a tiny 2 bed flat we lived in for 12 months) including allegations that were added after the original check-out report had been completed and agreed. The case went to independent adjudication and only just over £300 was awarded, in other words meaning around 80% of the claim was rejected. Given the scale of the claim compared to the outcome, it felt like an attempt to pass landlord costs onto the tenant rather than pursue genuinely evidenced deductions. The entire process was stressful, time consuming and completely disproportionate. Based on my experience, I would not rent through Connells again and would encourage others to look elsewhere. This is not even to mention the absolute shambles that is their property management team and that we were lied to about property repairs before moving in.

Our experience with this letting agency started off smoothly, especially when it came to communication and collecting payment. However, things became very frustrating once it came to receiving the parking fob for our property. After moving in, we were left waiting over two weeks with little to no communication, which made the moving process extremely stressful and inconvenient. However, I must say that Marco, specifically, did do his best to help ease the situation. After we were originally told to come and collect the fob from the office ourselves, despite the long delay, he kindly assisted by bringing the fob over to me personally, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the condition of the property upon moving in was also disappointing. The toilets were extremely dirty, some fixtures such as the curtains were broken, and there were incomplete/poor paint jobs throughout the property. Overall, while there were some helpful individuals involved, the lack of communication regarding the parking fob and the poor condition of the property made what should have been an exciting move quite stressful.

We use Connells for long time over 10 years. The staff performance varies a lot in recent years. The services and landlord communications need significantly improving and repairing costs have to be precise and reasonable (close to market price). The latest rental process was fast, smooth and extremely satisfactory except the agreements were signed three times due to many human errors which can be avoid with careful reviews before sending out the final version to us to sign for example mistype of tenant name, incorrect deposit arrangement and loss of signed agreement.
