TrustpilotGreat service.
Great service. As a tenant I have had no issues whatsoever with Dexters. They have been my agent now for three years.Whenever there has been an issue with anything within the property, there has always been a quick response from my property manager, Myra Mettam. Whether it has been a broken fridge, a leaking shower door, a new washing machine, etc, a professional trade has been called quickly and the issue has been rectified, usually within a week of the problem being highlighted. In fact, today I emailed Myra at around midday to report a radiator not working in the property and by 2.45pm someone had been sent round and the radiator was fixed. Amazing! It also helps that my landlord appears to be very quick to respond as well, and very understanding. You hear of many horror stories for tenants, but my experience with Dexters couldn't be further removed from those. Very satisfied.

TrustpilotAvoid at all costs.
Avoid at all costs. They pressured us into reducing the property's price within seven days of marketing it. They screamed at me that the property needed a complete refurb, which was invalid. They took really bad photos and included that the property needed updating in the property details, which was false. After a few weeks, they advised us to accept an offer way below the property's value. The whole episode stank of insider dealing. On top of which, they were stressful to deal with. Luckily, I changed Estate Agents, and we sold the property for £35,000 more than the offer they told us to accept.

TrustpilotDon't use Dexters.
Let out a property - fully managed service with Dexters between Aug 2021-Aug 2023 Management fees 18% They did nothing. 0. The tenants sub let the property -Dexters did not check, intervene, even though emails and phone calls, they confirmed they suspected. The tenants left the property damaged, items missing. Dexters took over 2 months to process the deposit return, and I still have not seen any money from the held deposit.Utterly useless. Take ages to respond, by phone or email.

TrustpilotMy experience as a small landlord
Dexters have taken over from my previous Management Company and so far the change over has gone smoothly with no disruption to the service.I had a new tenant recently in one property and there has been a number of issues that have needed dealing with. They have kept me informed and are always easily contactable for advice and clarifying any issues that have arisen. TrustpilotBEST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
I am very happy that Dexter take over the management of the building where I live. They had been very professional, proactive and supporting all the times for any issue in the building. As example this morning, I send an email to Dexter Acton complaining about the switch of the boiling and the lady Ms Georgina Mcconnell working there send me straight away an electrician to fix it 10 minutes after receiving my complain. Honestly, no one can do better.I recommend highly Dexter specially the agency based in Acton.

Just wanted to give a mention to Idris (property manager) who is always so polite and a pleasure to deal with. Any time an issue arises he responds quickly and is excellent at keeping you updated. He is a breath of air. Also, want to mention Alton, who rearranged his diary to fit in a visit yesterday and fix a lock, and also very helpfully looked at a number of issues we have with our windows. Also, a very pleasant person to deal with and an extra star for covering his shoes when he came into the property!

TrustpilotAwful renting experience.
In the eighteen months I rented with Dexters, I repeatedly dealt with some of the most inexperienced and plainly apathetic people imaginable. They're fast, efficient and friendly when you're in the process of viewing a property and signing the contract, but after that they leave you completely in the lurch. It's hard to provide a complete picture of the things I went through at the hands of Dexters, because there are simply so many, but here's a condensed list: The individual who showed me around the flat I rented stood around limply as though he'd never been inside a property before, I had to show myself around. After signing, it became apparent I was misled on details of the contract, and was later outright accused of lying about my interactions with another employee by a member of the property management team. What actually transpired was, I was phoned one day by a member of the team asking me if I would happily relinquish my parking space, which was advertised with the property, because another tenant needed it. I said ok. Later, they demanded £150 per month when I asked if I could use the space (which was perpetually empty). The woman from property management implied I was stupid (which I know to be untrue; I have a first class degree from a top 10 UK university x), and that I hadn't read the contract.Family members were told they were not entitled when visiting to use the communal building car park (which had a visitors space), instead, they were told to pay for on-street parking (in zone 1 London). I had a months-long back-and-forth over email in order to get a key fob for the big gate. Took them 5 weeks to send me a key for the letterbox. In that time, during the winter, much of the post I had received went mouldy. A plumbing issue in my flat which resulted in maggots was the result of an ex-tenant sticking a bottle lid down my drain. Backwash from my drain also repeatedly featured cigarette butts! On the occasion I got locked out of my flat at night (as a woman living alone in London) their emergency locksmith repeatedly went to voicemail and I never heard back, meaning I had to shell out independently for someone to let me back in. The extent of the help I received during a substantial water leak caused by upstairs neighbours was a thumbs-up emoji from a Dexters employee on WhatsApp. Two days before my tenancy ended, I was told that I was responsible for the professional cleaning of the flat (which I don't actually believe to be legal), and given the names of some cleaning companies, most of which had 1* reviews on here and charged hundreds of pounds. Mind you, when I moved in, my sofa was stuffed with paper bags, dust and dirt. They deducted £15 pounds from my security deposit for a 'missing' sink plug, which was visible in the photos I took before I left for a final time. Besides, when did a sink plug ever cost £15 pounds? In the time my flat was managed by dexters, I encountered two genuinely nice, enthusiastic and helpful employees. Their names were Ewan and Vanya, and they honestly made the last few months of my tenancy a lot better. So, thank you to them. The flat itself was beautiful and I found my neighbours and the local area to be lovely, but this struggles to make up for everything else. Two things are certainly worth noting: I am not writing this review in the hopes that Dexters do something about these issues - it was made abundantly clear during my tenancy that they actually just don't care. As long as they are getting your money, they will happily ignore you. Secondly, I believe that a lot of the things I dealt with were the result of my youth and inexperience with renting. I was 19 when I first moved in, and I think it became clear to them that I wouldn't always stand up for myself if I felt I was being wronged, therefore they (tried to) walk all over me. If you are considering using Dexters and you are sitting on the fence about it, please consider this review a warning. I just want to conclude by saying, in the event that Dexters accuse me of lying again, I have written or photographic evidence for the vast majority of things I listed here.Edit: despite comment from Dexters suggesting they will get in touch, they have not made contact. Rest assured, they do not care about resolving these company-wide issues.

TrustpilotTime wasters - just another misleading estate agent
Classic misleading estate agent practice of advertising properties on zoopla/rightmove that were SSTC days/weeks ago, calling you back for your details, repeatedly pressuring you to speak with their own mortgage advisors, only to finally mention the property is no longer available. Time wasters.Edit in regarding response from Dexters: seemingly no attempt to contact me has been made (not that I wish for any), and the property is yet still showing as for sale, only serving to support my above review comments.

TrustpilotDexters not responding to queries
My experience of renting with Dexters has been very poor. For the second time, I'm having to use the complaints procedure to escalate issues to their management team because my emails do not get responded to. I have been waiting for roughly 5 weeks now for someone to help me allocate the right fuse box for this flat, so that a smart metre can be installed. I have waiting for the same amount of time for the heater manuals to be sent to me, so I can set up the radiators correctly for the winter period. I chase up emails on roughly a weekly basis and occasionally I receive a reply (saying someone will look into it) but never answering my query. The most recent exchange I had was with a person who stopped responding all together. When I contacted somebody else to find out why that was, I was told the person has left the business and they would now be picking up my queries. It's been another two weeks without responses since then. I have voiced to Dexters several times that I am really frustrated about this situation but these emails have also been ignored. When I moved in to the property, I occasionally called the office in the hope to speed things along. I have stopped doing this, too, because my experience has been that the person I needed to speak to was never available, I then needed to explain my issues to several different people and any promise that I would receive a call back was never held. I have informed the landlord of this experience as well because I think it's important they are aware of the service their tenant is receiving from Dexters.

TrustpilotNever rent a property with Dexters in my life!
It was our first time to rent an apartment with Dexters in West London from 2022 - 2023. We never imagine every single aspect of the rental process could possibly go wrong and eventually needed to escalate the matter to external authority about our unfair and unprofessional treatment. Just to name a few, • Check-in: Apartment door keys' malfunction for 2+ weeks which eventually led to door lock change after Dexters' brute force attempt to open the door.• Tenancy renewal: No proper and timely communication on the rental arrangement near the end of fixed term, with drastic change within 1 month from rental renewal with contract signed to rental termination.• Notice served: No proper delivery of notice served until we asked for clarification upon receiving deposit release request.• Check-out: No communication on when/ how/ how much deposit release would be processed for 2+ weeks after check-out. 3+ chasers were sent and eventually escalated to TDS for resolution.• Complaint: Went through the complete internal complaint process but response from Dexters’ senior management did not seem to be apologetic to our horrific rental experience with various excuses provided. If you do not want to experience the same dreadful rental process as us, Please do avoid Dexters.

TrustpilotTENANTS AVOID
TENANTS AVOID! I dont usually leave reviews but I think at this point they deserve one. I am surprised reading other positive comments, but I guess all is good till they are not receiving money anymore. I have been tenant in London for over 12 years, and my experience with Dexters has been shocking. We vacated the flat 30 days ago, and still no deposit to be seen. Despite always being helpful when they were doing viewings (plenty of them with less than 24h notice btw).We have tried to email them almost on a daily basis to ask for deposit release, tried to call them, but they are always "unavailable", or saying they will let us know soon - I find them really rude, always covering each others back and being vague with their answers...Ana from property, Tom, Lillie...They are all the same, they don't care about people unless they get some benefit from it. At this point the frustration is about how bad they treat people when they are not useful anymore & for sure I wont deal with them again, even if that means miss my dream house because they manage it.

Trustpilot34 private residents, including me, have sent a letter today to Dexters:they are untrustworthy and a very, very bad management company:The UK government needs to step in, so very bad is the situation.
Dexters are totally untrustworthy and a very, very bad management company.I live with over 600 other residents at the new Oaklands Rise building complex in London NW10 6FJ with flats which is managed by Dexters. I pay my rent to Dexters. I have a rental contract with them. 34 private residents, including me, have sent a letter today to Dexters. We all signed the letter. The letter says, among other things:This email is being sent on behalf of the residents of Oakland Rises (signatures below) ... 1. The landlord has failed to acquire adequate insurance to cover situations that ought to be reasonably expected such as acts of God, flooding, sewage blockage etc. 2. The landlord/its agents failed to take reasonable steps to conduct repairs in a timely manner. Residents are advised to send all repair requests to the property managers. However, all residents have either experienced excessive and unexplained delay in receiving a response from the property manager about the repair work and/or have major/minor repair work not being done at all in a way that interferes with the habitability of their flats. Many residents did not receive any response after receiving from the property managers “I will report this to building managers.” In other words, the ticketing system that the landlord/its agents have in place is not working. 3. The landlord/its agents failed to take reasonable steps to rectify the supply of hot water and heating to the premises owing to the flooding. It took the landlord/its agent five days to rectify the situation and/or provide an alternative supply for the premises. Misrepresentations Dexters and its agents made a number of misrepresentations to all residents in the course of showing them around the properties, before and during the signatures of the tenancy agreements. These statements have proven to be incorrect, and they are material for many residents as they go to the root of the tenancy agreements, enabling residents to rescind their contracts upon proving their falsehood. Here are the misrepresentations made to residents: o This is a new development and residents will not face major concerns like in older flats. o Tesco will be opening a supermarket in the development by January 2022. o Two restaurants will be opening in the development by January 2022. o A Café will be opening in the development by January 2022. o A gym will be opening in the development by January 2022. o When asked about how much to charge the Guru monthly, the agents stated that “you are looking to charge it with £20 a month. This is the practice of other residents in the building”. Residents were reportedly paying excessively more than £20 per month for the Guru. o Purported mistakes in the pricing/rent, followed by a request to increase the monthly rent to account for the mistake that happened as a tactic to negotiate prices. ......5. Dexters must issue an apology for the misrepresentations mentioned above made by its agents to residents.Dexters present a false image to the public. We, the residents, report what they do not want the public to know. They will not be able to silence us.
