Overall my experience with charters has not been great since the day I collected the keys, which the clerk was pretty late resulting in a lengthy wait. the office could not get my tenancy signed in time. Lots of missed communication within the office’s in Southampton mainly on the property maintenance side. Repairs on the property have been left for eight months resulting in the termination of my tenancy. Conveniently the repairs are being down now I am out of the property despite waiting for it. The response is that they are waiting for the landlord to instruct them to do the work which I don’t believe take that however you’d like too. There has been one person who has been absolutely amazing and helped me through these cracks despite it not being her problem and that’s Lilly who I believe is based in the bishops Waltham branch!

Just thought I’d put a comment on here to say how disappointed I am in the service, I’ve not heard from my contact for a while now after him saying he would call me. Cameron has not been too helpful and when I did manage to get him on the phone I felt very rushed like I was bothering him. Maybe it’s because I am not going for the most expensive house I don’t know but not very happy at all. Also calling me Ben instead of Benjamin at times without permission as I hate that was not the best feeling too.

When you initially contacted our office, you specifically asked to deal with Cameron who spent considerable time discussing your property requirements with you in detail and subsequently sent you properties that matched your search criteria, as well as arranging a viewing and an appointment with our Mortgage Services team. Following your cancellation of those appointments, Cameron also made subsequent attempts to contact you to continue assisting with your property search without success. We therefore feel it's important to provide this context, although we are sorry that your experience has nevertheless left you feeling dissatisfied. We would genuinely welcome the opportunity to understand where you feel we fell short and discuss this with you directly. Please do contact the branch and ask to speak with the Branch Partner personally so that we can understand your concerns and hopefully resolve them.

Recently I went through a change of tenancy process, where the tenant in my property checked out and the new tenant moved in. We needed to redecorate the flat in between the time and we had only quite a short time to do this. Millie Shrimpton, the property manager looking after my property in Southampton, handled the process efficiently, making sure the property is ready on time for the new tenant. Thank you, Millie. We had a bit of a hectic time trying to coordinate moving house and honestly Michael was a saviour. The service he provided was above and beyond throughout, from start to finish he was always on hand for any queries and issues we had. Michael, Robyn and their team were on top of the whole process, ensuring all communication between the landlord and them was fully communicated to us, and at every step making sure we were happy with how things were progressing. Michael was fabulous at keeping us informed and really went above and beyond to make sure everything was going ahead as needed to get us into the house - even through set backs on both ends, Michael really made the effort to make sure we were well taken care of from start to finish.

I would highly recommend this company, especially if Fin is your main point of contact he works in the Worthing office. I was in a very difficult situation with my tenant who refused to leave my property, even after I had given the required two months’ contractual notice. Fin was incredibly helpful throughout the entire negotiation process and worked professionally with both parties to ensure the matter was resolved as smoothly and quickly as possible. I fully understood the tenants’ situation, and Fin handled everything in a fair, respectful, and professional manner while also making sure I was able to regain possession of my property without unnecessary delays.

Friendly and professional agents who made viewings simple with no pressure (shout out to Lucy in the Goring branch who went back out of hours to help us retrieve our kid's lost phone from one of the houses!). When it came to purchasing they were swift and communicated well. After the offer was accepted having Jane in the dedicated Sales Progression team after meant that everything moved as quickly as possible with queries dealt with efficiently and sympathetically. Highly recommended.
