GoogleTried to raise a formal complaint after a horrific experience in a property managed by Pattinson. The landlord went out of her way to explain they were not a “slum landlord” and they turned out to be exactly that. The flat had been newly decorated and it became clear that this was to hide previous damp and mould problems. We were told damp and mould was “condensation” and told it was our responsibility to make sure it didn’t return. Contractors were sent eventually who said it was rising damp due to an issue with the DPC, or the lack of a DPC to be exact. Had to terminate the tenancy early due to nothing being done by the landlord or Pattinsons, the same property has now gone back up for rent at £25 more than it was rented to us for. When I tried to raise a formal complaint, I didn’t even receive an acknowledgement and despite chasing over 10 times over the last 8 months, I still haven’t even received an acknowledgement

I have had a very positive experience with Pattinsons. I rang on a Saturday morning for an appointment and Daniel arrived on Monday at 1pm. By Tuesday my house was marketed with excellent photographs and a steady stream of viewings. Within little more than a week it had been sold. I found Daniel and the staff professional, helpful and knowledgeable. I also found Lucy Briscoe at Core Legal very efficient. I’ve had a positive outcome as my house has completed within 8 weeks. I would recommend Pattinsons and would certainly use them again in the future should I require another move.

Contact was great at the start but that's all I can say. Incredibly poor communication between their own staff and the people who have been in touch have essentially ghosted me, they're not interested because I'm not selling soon despite being told someone would call me back/send the free valuation I requested. When chased, I got an incredibly short message from a Miss Pattinson (I really hope not related to owners) to say she was out of office, essentially not wanting anything to do with it. Outstanding service and experience with another competitor though.

Our auction agreements clearly set out the circumstances in which a fee may become payable by a vendor, including where a sole selling rights agreement is in place and a buyer introduced to a property through our marketing subsequently goes on to purchase that property. These provisions are intended to ensure that vendors are aware from the outset of the terms of their agreement and any potential fees that may arise.
We aim to be as clear and transparent as possible throughout the auction process, including in relation to buyers introduced through our marketing and the contractual arrangements that apply. Where a fee is applicable, this is determined by the terms of the signed agreement and the circumstances surrounding the subsequent sale.
We appreciate that every transaction is different and are sorry that you have been left feeling dissatisfied with your experience.
