As a landlord who was with them for a very short time, I made two complaints concerning 1) Repairs and maintenance and 2) Rent payments, both against the company they use to contract out these services (Sequence). After exhausting their internal complaints procedures I took them to the Property Ombudsman who held up my two complaints against Sequence. Don’t use them.

I purchased a house with Allen and Harris. Michelle dealt with it all. She was very professional, a lovely lady. Polite and nothing was too much trouble. Sometimes I spoke to other staff in the office. They were all very pleasant to talk to, always answered anything. I would completely recommend going to Allen and Harris for all your needs to buy or sell a house. The rental side is also great to deal with.

GoogleI had a great experience purchasing my first home through Allen and Harris Burnside. Everyone that I met was helpful and very friendly. All of my (many) questions were answered as quickly as possible. Their recommended mortgage advisor, Fraser, is fantastic as well and made the whole process a lot less scary and confusing.

GoogleWe asked this agent to value our property when we wanted to sell. They came out and gave us a price that was £10k under the eventual home report value. We used another agent and a potential buyer was using allan and Harris for a mortgage and they advised the buyer our property was worth £20k under the home report value just so they could try and get them to buy a property they had listed. Very underhand and misleading

Awful service by Allen & Harris. Booked in 2 viewings back to back with them... got there and no one was around. When I called, they told me that the second property had gone already and that someone should have rang me and cancelled the whole appointment (I guess they'd just decided not to do it?!). No one had and they had no answer for why that was the case. The woman on the phone was nice and offered to drop everything and come out to me in around 15 mins but I had other viewings booked in and had to move on.They also said they'd keep in touch with me about new properties coming on the market... I was keeping an eye out and saw various new ones that were suitable and never heard a peep from them.

GoogleCurrently in the process of buying a house through this estate agents. Communication has been abominable, that’s if they eventually answer the phone. They state they will call you back and never do. The seller of the house wasn’t overly impressed as it took a good while to put a for sale sign up and needed to get on at them. My dealing with this company have been extremely poor, Stewart in particular as his attitude is abrupt and unhelpful and to top it off he hung up the phone on me. I do not recommend this company as a buyer or a seller.

TrustpilotVery Bad Experience
On Friday 29 April we went to Allen & Harris (A&H) to arrange the sale of our house and paid the required marketing fees. Over the weekend we changed our mind and went straight back to the branch at 10am on Monday 2 May (bank holiday) to cancel. We were told that “as nothing had happened yet (i.e. the photographer/surveyor were not arranged), we would be entitled to a full refund”. We spent the next 8-9 weeks trying to get our money back but were continually fobbed off with excuses and lies...the system is down…it should be paid soon…it should be in your account in a few days…it will take 3-5 working days…, none of which happened. Despite 12-15 emails some of which were not replied to, several phone calls and visits to the branch, the delay in paying this refund just got longer and longer. We asked for the contact details of a senior person with whom we could register a complaint but this was never provided. On Friday 17 June we contacted Resolver, an online consumer complaints company and raised our complaint through them. They emailed our complaint to A&H customer services department in Leighton Buzzard. (At no time did the branch inform us that such a place existed.) A member of staff from this department then started to communicate with us trying to resolve this issue by expediting the payment of our refund. This involved yet more emails and phone calls. However, even then on one occasion they did not call us back when promised. Eventually, on 28 June (58 days after we cancelled) we at last received our refund in our account. This whole fiasco proved to be very frustrating and stressful and if this is an example of A&H’s customer service, we are very glad that we changed our mind when we did and did not proceed with our sale. I will be relating this whole saga to as many people as possible to highlight the way we were treated and the ridiculous delay to payment of a refund which should have been accomplished in days as originally promised, not months. We would definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone.

GoogleBought my first house, Michelle wardlaw was amazing helped anyway she could getting our mortgage sorted & even our life insurance. I would have been stuck without her. All the other staff I spoke to through the whole process were great! Would definitely recommend for any first time buyers also if you are selling as the house bought was also being sold by them & staff were great.

A&H had to deal with one of the most difficult, awkward and obtuse sellers ever, my ex-wife. Despite her offending most of the team, they stuck with it, through thick and thin, and pushed the sale over the line. They were always brilliant, friendly and professional with me. Big kudos to Charlotte and Michelle for putting up with the terrible treatment, you never gave up! Thank you so much!

I could not recommend Allen and Harris, Clarkston highly enough to anyone swithering about who to sell their house with. The team in Allen and Harris have gone above and beyond my expectations. Attentitive, professional and friendly, I can't thank them enough for selling my house so quickly and the dedication they have shown towards my house sale. Thank you! When it comes to honoring commitments and customer service, Allen and Harris is the worst company to deal with. I've paid for my lease agreement but for the past 4days, it hasn't been treated. I've called more than 20times but no one is picking up. Seems they close by 12noon everyday now. Terrible Terrible bunch. Wouldn't recommend them.

They are scammers. We paid a holding fee for a property to move on the 12th. They told us no on the 10th and kept our money £279. It is clearly a tactic they use since agency fees are gone. You let people pay a holding fee then tell them no and keep their money.Please don’t go for them. Scammers

GoogleThe staff at Allen and Harris have been extremely supportive and understanding throughout the whole process of looking for and then purchasing our new home. In some extremely complex circumstances, we were kept informed and were very impressed by the empathy shown by Kay and her colleagues. I would highly recommend this estate agents as the high level of customer care is exceptional. Thanks again to everyone.

I booked a viewing of a property at Auchinleck, East Ayrshire at 2pm on Wednesday 9th February. Estate agent appeared five minutes late with the wrong keys; access to the property was not possible. The person blamed a colleague for giving her the wrong keys. Performance of Allen and Harris deemed unprofessional. One star rating not deserved.

Terrible company, refusing to organise viewings because we refuse to register with full details, no estate agent is a member of any professional governing body, so why trust them with your personal data, i asked them to sign an NDA agreement, they refused to sign, knowing this, i now know they would sell and abuse my personal infromation, Avoid!!

Is the worst experience ever , bad communication, manipulation, on the advertising was a no chain , after signing the contract and paying servy, lower ecc, I been told chain on hold , called 100 times no answer back , not at all serious, deserve minus star , avoid if you can ,con agency
