Amazing Staff

We recently received news that our landlord wanted possession of his property after a year and 5 months. As a family with two young kids this was not the ideal scenario we’d hope for.However, Allison and Aimee ensured that we felt supported during this period and also made sure we received all relevant communication in a timely/professional manner. Paul Meakin as a company is by far one of the best agents we’ve dealt with in our renting history. Thank you Allison,Aimee and the lettings team for always ensuring we felt valued as tenants. Not knowing where to start when a house was left to us after the passing of a parent I called a number of places to see what options we had. I spoke to a number of people but never felt comfortable with any of them for a number of different reasons. I decided to call Paul Meakin and was lucky enough to speak with a lovely young lady called Amy Hedgecox who said that she was happy to attend the property when we were ready to discuss price and options. Amy made us feel instantly at ease and for the 1st time since inheriting the house we felt like we had direction. Amy valued the property at what we expected and went through a number of options to see what suited us without being pushy. We decided we wanted a quick sale and Amy instantly had someone in mind who she had attend the property the next day to view. We have just sold to this buyer. I couldn’t have hoped or asked for anyone better to sell our property. If Amy was away from her desk Natalie Chapman made sure she was available as a stand in. The sale has been handled by a very professional and kind team who are not just looking for a sale but have their clients best interests at heart.

Paul Meakin (PM) dealt with our slightly problematic probate house sale which took over a year to complete. There was a sale that fell through and purchasers (developers in the main) who made silly offers which PM dealt with quite robustly. PM understood the market, which was in a state of flux, the property itself and its potential. The property was vacant but PM still kept us informed of viewings. The sales brochure was fine with pictures of the garden and all rooms, warts and all. PM eventually achieved a sale not far off the asking price. All communication was prompt and accurate including those involving solicitors.

Extremely disappointing experience with this estate agent. They were marketing several properties on the same road, but one in particular was in poor condition. I was appalled at the lack of professionalism one of their agents openly blamed tenants for major structural and maintenance issues, including significant leaks, unsafe electrics hanging off the wall, and outdated plumbing. These are clearly landlord neglect issues, not tenant related, and yet the tenants had been left living in distressing conditions for years. The fact that Paul Meakin had confirmed they managed these rentals says a lot about the standards they are willing to support. As a buyer, the experience was equally poor. After viewing properties (some twice), I received nothing but automated emails and no personal follow-up calls. For a serious buyer, this lack of effort screams laziness and a complete lack of care about making sales. On multiple occasions, their staff couldn’t answer even basic questions about the property, no brochures were provided at first viewings, and overall the attitude felt dismissive and unprofessional. In one case, I ended up educating the agents themselves on key details they should have already known. Eventually, the property I was most interested in was removed from the market as unsellable. If I didn’t have the knowledge and experience I do as a current homeowner, I could have wasted thousands pursuing it further. This agency gives the clear impression of being underqualified, uninterested, and lacking even the most basic standards of customer service. As a motivated buyer who is actively looking to purchase, and as someone who already owns property, I would strongly advise sellers not to list with Paul Meakin. They show little dedication to buyers, no care for tenants, and an overall lack of professionalism that reflects poorly on the entire business.

Exceptional customer service and after care.

Just recently sold my property using Paul meakins Estate Agents. I have been using them for many years now. I previously rented, bought and sold over a 13 year period and wouldn't use anyone else. The staff at Paul meakins are very professional, polite and respectful and the standards are very high just what you want from your local Estate agents. I've just completed my sale and I have to give a special mention to Gill Arkwright who dealt with my completion. Gill's customer service skills was exceptional from start to finish highly professional and very knowledgeable. I had a lot of stress with my sale as it fell through twice and finally completed on my third. Paul Meakin of Selsdon, were the agents we were buying our house from. Dealing with us was Gill Artwright, she was amazing as she was dealing with a chain of 9 houses. Gill kept us updated and ensured we all were aware of where each of us were on every stage, Gill would be very prompt in returning our calls and emails. Gill went an extra mile and was amazing and brilliant to synchronise all 9 houses to complete and move on the the same day despite nail biting last minute hiccups.
