I have had a really bad checkout experience with Davis Tate, in spite of completing check out / end of tenancy formalities , like cleaning from their preferred, handing over the keys, assisting their sales rep during viewings, Davis Tate deducted 350 pounds from my deposit. The house was not clean when it was handed over to me and I had clearly conveyed my message to their property manager. I had also sent the entire communication with images of the stains and scuff marks towards which they deducted the amount. They recovered all the cost from me, which otherwise should have been borne by the landlord / Davis Tate. Really pathetic and painful. Squeezing tenants for money at the checkout is their business it seems. I would suggest to be careful while checking out of the property. I will NOT recommend Davis Tate at-all. Be careful when dealing with them!!!!!

GoogleI found the office unwelcoming and smelt of fish! I was ignored when I entered which is ridiculous given the size of the office! Julie Norman was rude and unprofessional in both appearance and manner. I would never use this agent. Beville were much more welcoming

Dont use them they do not honour deals made before exchange of contract very dishonest bunch of rip off merchants change fees after agreed a price with manager before he was made redundant right before xmas with all the other staff in the burghfield common office say's it all should of gone with purple bricks but believed the lie's avoid at all cost

GoogleStaff are complacent because they have a monopoly in the area so don't have to work hard to get viewings. Understand the client is important but in our experience one senior member of staff was unprofessional and did not keep us informed as potential buyers until property was already under offer. No reason was given for our failure to secure the property even though we all put in 'similar offers'. Concur with previous reviewers about block booking. It almost seemed as if the property had already been promised to someone else so we didn't stand a chance of getting it. The current situation is not bringing out the best in some estate agents!

GoogleWe were due to visit a house and Julie gave an address that was not registered on google maps with no instructions, went to the postcode and turns out that the postcode was for the whole main street. We frantically tried to find the house as we were unable to contact Julie. She finally turned up at the estate agent and was extremely rude and unprofessional and kept on saying that she had to wait 30 mins for us (we had driven over an hour). She did not once apologise for not giving directions or offered to rebook. Simply unbelievable.

Put an offer in on a house and was accepted these scumbags with no ethics after we paid for solicitors and the rest of it. Kept marketing and took a better offer. Do not trust!!

GoogleCouldn't recommend highly enough. The whole team were always available for anything required and were patient when we had a few admin problems at our end! Sold my house with them this year having bought the same house from Davis Tate 20 years earlier!

Our experience with Davis Tate will be our only one with any luck. From start to finish they were unprofessional and communication was terrible. Initially the agent taking photos of the house tried to sell us their parents house, even though we said three times we were not interested and it didn't meet our requirements. In the end he tried so hard to do this that he showed us commute times from his parents house to our places of work!

During the tenancy the agency was ok, they would arrange any fixing I previously reported and they were responsive. However, the issue was at check-out time. I saw a woman and a man leaving the property 3 days before the check out, dressed smart. I had moved out already and I was parking the car so got shocked by that, I couldn't react. Also my ex-neighbour saw a woman leaving the property the following day too. They got in without any appointment and my permission, something that they admitted but of course nothing happened. Also, they wanted to charge me for some missing items that were not missing and broken things that were not broken by me. After some back and forth emails proving them wrong and sending them pictures which were taken at the check-in, they charged me for 3 things. One of them £50 to hang the curtains back because I left them in bags, which I think is excessive because of the amount and even more so as it was unfurnished, I had to sign the document to have the rest of my deposit back though. Lastly, I agreed with the cleaner contractor to have the second set of keys back through the letter box once the cleaning was complete, that was on a Thursday, on that Saturday I went to the property and didn't see the keys. I emailed the agency and the cleaner. I was worried about what they would do. On the next Monday I went to the office to drop my set of keys and they found out that the other set was taken by one of the agents without telling anyone, of course when they went without my permission. I am very disappointed, I looked after the property as if it was mine, it was left in a better condition that I found it because I painted both bedrooms and the living, and it seemed that the check out was not fully compared with the check in. I hope my testimonial helps someone

Davis Tate was advertising a share to buy property where I decided to go with the purchase and paid the reservation fee to a Housing association. As there was no suitable lender, I had to move away from the purchase. Davis Tate did not advise me about the procedure regarding the refund and there was no small grievance with the housing association, where I almost had to take legal actions to get things resolved. Finally the housing association made the refund (with no thanks to Davis Tate). 1 star.

I would have given a negative star if I could .This agency is just there to make money off tenants.When issues are brought to them they refer you to their contractors who are some big shot money making cheats who charge you an arm and leg for doing small jobs.Worst agency ever.I have the worst experience with them
