Getting a mortgage through Shipways in Shirley was a really positive experience. The team there was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk us through each stage of the process in a clear and reassuring way. They were always easy to get hold of and kept us updated regularly, which made everything feel much less stressful. Although there were a few delays, as is expected with mortgages, the staff remained patient and professional throughout. I’d definitely recommend the Shipways Shirley branch to anyone looking for reliable support when arranging a mortgage.

I want to give a big thank you to Lauren Clarke and Oliver Ganderton at the Shipways Shirley branch. Lauren especially was exceptional throughout the whole process. She stayed on top of everything, kept me updated, and made sure my move-in date went smoothly without any stress. Every appointment has been communicated extremely well and a prompt alternative date was agreed with ease. House hunting has been stressful, I’ve spoken to several agents, but many didn’t seem interested or take the time to help. Some didn’t even return my calls or follow up after cancellations which was really discouraging. Then I spoke to Dan at Shipways, Shirley branch, and what a difference! From the start he was friendly, patient, and genuinely cared about helping me. He took the time to listen, asked thoughtful questions, and made me feel valued, something that’s been rare during this process. Even though the property I originally called about already had an offer Dan still made the effort to discuss my situation and explore other options with me. He never rushed me and made sure I had all the information I needed. His professionalism, warmth, and understanding really stood out, and I’m so grateful for his help. ***Update*** We had some problems in the below house and Sophie W. the property co-ordinator, was so kind and attentative. She emailed us with updates and took matters into her own hands and assured us throughout the process. It really does show this agency is there for the people and they care and take time to check in. Problem is fixed now and we are up and running. Thank you so much Sophie, for everything. 🤗 My partner and I had our sights set on this lovely place in Solihull and Oli, the agent, fought for us to get it. He went above and beyond to keep us informed about everything and Lauren was available at all times to reassure us and help us any way she could. We got the place in the end but we wouldn't have if it wasn't for Oli to put in a good word for us and Lauren too, to chase things for us, back and forth all the time, both of them. We owe it to them that we found our little place of heaven, and offered us a gift with the moving in too. Really appreciate all you have done for us guys, really. Hope you have an amazing Christmas.

Shipways (Great Bar) horrible experience. Advice to anyone renting with them becareful of the agreement your signing. Its best to get someone legal to look at your tenancy agreement. I made the mistake and signed quickly trying to comply with the agent as I thought he was being genuine, he just wanted to rent the property to get his commission. Do not complain about anything that needs repairing in the property, they rather evict you than fully comply if they think your making to many complaints. I was served with a section 21, no arrears but becasue i complained and they had to spend the money to rectify the issues. There is no rights for private tenants. When people have the upper hand, they play around with people's lives and don't give a second thought of the impact. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. If you do use them be very aware.

During the sale of my apartment, Sam has been on the ball throughout the whole process. He has kept me up to date with everything and chased solicitors up for updates and kept me in the picture, also spoke to my buyers on my behalf. I am very happy he has been dealing with this for me. Very easy efficient and friendly team especially Oli and Lauren. This is how I felt but now after 3 months of being in the property I an very disappointed. I was promised it would be white washed and cleaned up as it was and still is very scruffy. Also on getting the keys I found out the oven and dishwasher do not work which I raised immediately. Yet I have still yet to have either looked at yet alone fixed. I have also reported the broken blinds which again are still in a state of disrepair. In summary don't sign for anything until you are certain all is as it should be and Also don't bother calling up to complain as you will rarly get a response let alone a call back. It seems once you've signed shipways just wash there hands of you.

Shipways viewing cancellations!

If I could of left this review without any stars I would of. A property up for sale 6 months ago, then reduced so booked a viewing - Shipways cancelled via email whilst we waited outside to view on the day - they blamed the owners. Months later the property was reduced again, so we booked a viewing again only to get a call on day of viewing to cancel the appointment due to a few offers on the table. Again the owners were blamed, but if any viewing had already been arranged, it would of been common courtesy to allow other prospective buyers to view the property. I will not trust Shipways ever again as feel far too let down.
