Classic estate agent, do the bare minimum

Classic estate agent, do as little for you as possible. Referencing took over a month just to find simple things like landlord references even when we had given the details multiple times. Response time always very slow throughout and tried to charge us extra at the end of our tenancy (technical error was their excuse). Overall, they weren't bad but had very little to do with our rental & only ever wound me up when having to deal with them.

Strutt & Parker, Shrewsbury - showing the sickening art of gazumping is still ok with them.Awful service, very 90’s dishonest style of using my bid to rustle up a better bid from another “client that was interested before”.This kind of dishonesty and general lack of ethic shows the urgency of needed regulation.After I spent thousands of pounds on a survey, the best their Director could offer me was “Sorry I don’t normally operate like this” - clearly you do. In an apparent effort to appease me, he went on to explain that he would show me some more properties that are “not on the market yet” of course he hasn’t. 🙄

Polished professionalism -exemplary knowledge of market

I have sold two properties with Strutt and Parker within last three years. Will Mullen at the Norwich Office managed both sales. The latter property was a large property comprising land, substantial extensive outbuildings as well a substantial country house and additional cottage. This was a complex sale and yet Will’s demonstrated exemplary levels of professionalism, a focused attention to detail, and demonstrated empathy given the sale was due to bereavement. He ensured we remained focused on and achieved the full market value. The sale offer was achieved within just over a month of presenting to market and despite challenges encountered his provided a consistent level of support and communications until completion. I would not hesitate to call upon Will or his Director Tom Goodley, who provided additional advise when required for future sales.

By far the worst experience I have ever…

By far the worst experience I have ever had.Ever since day one Meena from the fullham office has been extremely unhelpful, extremely slow with responding and not only that she gave me loads of drama by making me move in to a apartment were half of the things are broken.Now it has been about a month and I have complained so many times about all the things that have not been working and yet... they don’t give a damn. My dryer the kitchen fan the water pressure the fire place the light in the living room etc. There have been two electricians and plumber guys in my flat and neither of them fixed a damn thing but they did agree that they could have not let me move in to a place that’s half falling apart.I so regret my decision to rent from them.

Double booked viewing and poor phone manner

Booked to view a house in Harpenden. Received an email and text confirmation. Arrived at property for appointment and was told the slot had been double booked. The agent offered us another time, hours later, which we couldn’t make. We came from out of town to view the property so this was a major inconvenience. Goodness knows how a slot can be double booked when automatic confirmations are generated. Agent very unapologetic and I have found staff on the phone to be apathetic and unhelpful.

Have rented off Strutt and Parker only a few months, my house has was let illegally with electrics not up to current standards, electrical sockets broken, no heating or hot water and the house was filthy dirty along with a faulty boiler giving off poisonous carbon monoxide and Now with the cooler weather severe mould has started to appear and has been reported on several occasions. Jessica and Jenna from the Shrewsbury office have failed to do anything about it other than send a PAINTER AND DECORATOR round to give a quote to cover up the job rather than actually correct it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS as the repairs that are reported will not be done. I had my carbon monoxide detector go off one evening and I was told to open a window!! With 4 kids in the house! When an engineer finally came out the readings were at over 5000 when I was told normal is 100 or less. Now have Shropshire environmental health involved because they expect rent yet fail to make sure that their tenants have a safe place to live!! Don’t even deserve one star!

Absolutely terrible so called rental agents! Viewed a property to rent was expecting a follow up call (never happened) when I inquired as to the status of the rental and how to proceed was then told ' sorry we are not taking anymore enquiries on the rental' And don't bother calling them as they never answer or return your calls! Thanks for wasting my time I definitely won't enquire about any property up with yourselves and will make sure friends etc don't neither.

S&P did no marketing for us

S&P did no marketing for us, and the team was defensive when we tried to make suggestions as to how to sell best (having had to handle several viewings ourselves at weekends- quite why estate agents don't work at the time when viewers are available remains a mystery to me!). I am sure they are fine selling conventional properties to wealthy buyers, but they didn't seem to have the audience for our mid-market character property. They didn't do anything to generate interest. It was not a happy or successful relationship, so we have moved on.

Wow!!!

Had a viewing of a property yesterday with Annabel. From the moment she opened the door to welcome us to 45 minutes later when she said goodbye we could not have been more impressed. She was utterly friendly, professional, knowledgeable, honest and truthful. Although this house is unlikely to be the home we buy due to location, although beautiful, we could not have asked for a better agent to show us around. I worked in the property industry for 20 years, owning my own agency for 15 of them and I would have loved this lady to have worked for me. She is a huge credit to Strutt & Parker and if I was selling a house I would use them just to have Annabel show prospective buyers.
