This story goes back to pre 1st…
This story goes back to pre 1st lockdown.Listed my house with them last year, they sent round several waste-of-time viewers who had no intension of buying. After about 10 weeks we got an offer, then we went into lockdown. I asked them several times for an update, they said everything was on track, nothing to worry about, but they refused to put the SOLD board up saying it's not something they do, alarm bells are now ringing. Other local DB Roberts properties had SOLD signs up. Again further updates, everything was fine and on-track, but still no SOLD board. Then as I predicted, the day lockdown ended, they told me the buyers pulled out, I believe they pulled out long before, but didn't tell me in order to stop me going with another agent mid-lockdown. I immediately sacked them and went with another agent and the house sold in four days. DB Roberts were insistent that I cannot relist my house with another agent due to the terms of the contract, which was worthless as they also promised to provide a professional service, so they were in breach of contract anyway. 12 months on, we've been in our new house for a while now. Yesterday I got a call from DB Roberts saying someone wants to view my property - eh, we've been moved out for nearly 12 months. I just hung up on them as I couldn't be bothered dealing with their incompetence. I got an email, saying we got cut-off, we didn't I hung up. I checked their website and Rightmove and low-and-behold, they had relisted my old property and started arranging viewings. I contacted the current owners and they confirmed it is not for sale.So DB Roberts relisted my old property and contacted me to arrange viewings when I don't even own the property nor is it for sale.Their incompetence has found a new level, plus they may be in breach of the DPA.

Appalling service
I am still waiting to complete on my property sale, 6 months down the line. I have a cash buyer, there is no chain and the property has been empty for 10 months. I have never experienced such consistently poor customer service. I receive no emails or calls from the conveyancer, even after multiple requests. Nothing is ever done by them unless I get on the phone and complain, nag and push. My personal conveyancer is never available so I have to speak to a different member of the team, and he never returns my calls. He didn’t even keep the initial introductory interview, or apologise for his rudeness! The quote I was given for the conveyancing has doubled, God knows why, they’ve done nothing to earn it! For goodness sake people, don’t use this company. You will be very disappointed, get very angry and be out of pocket. I wish I had thought to look at reviews first, I am clearly not the only one!!!

Repossession purchase.
Was purchasing a repossession via D B Roberts - no sense of urgency and the lawyers acting on behalf of the bank were so S L O W.This compounded with me losing the property (this happens with repo’s I get it) but D B Roberts were quite two-faced about the fact a conversation of initially “we won’t show the property to anyone else, consider it yours”: to me finding out they were in fact doing exactly the opposite! Of course they are obliged to, but don’t bulls**t customers and always be transparent. It doesn’t aid your reputation (which is pretty poor as it is) by ‘people pleasing’, which ends up as a pie in yours - and my - faces.I had to do ALL of the chasing in obtaining information required to try and hurry along the transaction -D B Roberts seemed content to let this happen and not help me by liaising with the lawyers of the property, to aid a timely transaction. As it was, and as is law with a repo, someone came in with a higher offer and suddenly it seemed everything sprung into action and the property was sold quickly from then. There’s a touch of sour grapes in my review - but, ultimately, the service wasn’t great which aided in the fact I didn’t get the property I wanted. A frustrating and fraught experience!

I honestly could not fault! Lottie and Dan have been great. Lottie provided constant updates even when i wasn't chasing and if she was ever out of office she made sure a colleague was looking after the case for us. Thank you for your help!

Very good Estate Agent…
D B Roberts sold our home in a challenging market. Everyone was helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They were patient when I had so many questions. They made the whole process of selling our property easy and stress free. I would recommend D B Roberts to anyone.

No communication
This has to be quite simply the worst estate agent that I have dealt with. After renting properties for a number of years, my partner and I have been looking at buying our first home, and after sending various e-mails enquiring about a selection of properties, we received no acknowledgement of receipt or any communication about any of the properties we were interested in. Instead, we have had to chase them regarding these properties and their details, to which they offered little-to-no advice other than: "It's on the website."On the telephone, the sales assistant did not seem bothered that we were interested in any of their properties, and it was more of an inconvenience that I was ringing. I had to ring a further 3 times to ensure we had an appointment for the house we were looking at, as there was absolutely no communication from their end, only to be told on the phone in a stern tone: "Well, you can't do this weekend, so it'll have to be next weekend."When the booking for one house came through, so did another (which we didn't ask for) and this time another sales assistant in a different office seemed quite put out that I cancelled this viewing after "He only just booked it in."During this week, using RightMove, we have discovered that the house has been taken off the market (Wednesday) - and subsequently taken off their website - but we have received no communication about the change in circumstance. Since seeing the change on both their website and the RightMove app, we have waited Yet again, I have had to ring them (two hours before we are meant to view the property) to check if it has indeed been taken off the market and our viewing has been cancelled. Upon ringing, I was told that the property had only just been taken off the market this morning (Saturday), however seeing this, we know that is not the case. I was also told a cancellation text message had been sent out, but as of yet, nothing has been received. As a customer, I should not be having to chase estate agents for a viewing to a property, or even for an update on situations. I certainly shouldn't have to see if properties have been taken off the market via an app and have no dialogue with the agents beforehand. For a company with a fair amount of offices and many properties that are being dealt with in the West Midlands area, you would expect a much higher level of service, and a much improved line of communication from the very start of the enquiry process. We have rearranged freetime and holiday time in order to view this property, and it has been cancelled, but only because we acted.

Helped make a very big decision
Emily helped us make a very important decision whilst viewing a property during relocating our family. We were unsure of the area we had seen a house we loved, due to not knowing it, and Emily reassured us and ultimately made our decision easier.

DB Roberts were the right choice
DB Roberts’s agents they’ve been nice, kind and respectful but the most important characteristic is that they are efficient, they move fast and get things done, and that’s a key factor when you want to sell our house!
