TrustpilotGreat service, great team and a great result
We chose Whitehornes to sell our house, having had great service from them previously. We have no hesitation in recommending the team, and in particular we want to thank Andy, Kerry and Will for their unstinting support throughout the sales process. Andy was spot on with his assessment of the market and with the valuation on the house and we quickly secured an offer in line with what he had predicted we could achieve. Various subsequent delays were dealt with calmly and efficiently by Kerry and Will and when we had a family problem the whole team were incredibly kind and sympathetic. Massive thanks to you all!

TrustpilotVery unprofessional on the phone
We were interested in renting a house. We were offered an appointment that was not convenient and eventually we canceled, but we were told that If they were continuing with the viewings they would arrange us another viewing. This conversation was done like we were a nuisance. Eventually, after 2 weeks we saw the house was available. We called again. Same behavior only this time we were also completely ignored. I understand they might be having a lot of requests but this is not an excuse to stop acting like a professional. Probably if you go through them to sell a house it's not going to be the same especially if they get a percentage, but I think I would describe them as "rude".

TrustpilotThe best EA I have ever dealt with!
I would have no hesitation, whatsoever, in recommending Whitehornes, and Caroline D, in particular. I have had to deal with c.10 house sales during my lifetime, so far and, without doubt, Whitehornes have been the best and most hard-working and diligent estate agents I have ever employed. The sale they handled for me was not, as it turned out, straightforward and easy but, nevertheless, Whitehornes, and especially Caroline D - were helpful, conscientious, communicative, and POSITIVE throughout. And all for a VERY reasonable fee. Thank you Whitehornes, and Caroline, in particular!

GoogleDO NOT USE! Worst estate agents I've ever dealt with. Ive never left a bad review for any business but it has been appalling.
Tenancy was left in an abhorrent state hygiene wise and when issues raised they told me it had been cleaned which was impossible and persistently lied about the matter and did nothing to resolve or apologise for the conditions. The issues were either minimised or ignored by Ben Chaterjee. He advised the multiple dead frogs and items left under the bed by previous tenant were 'unreasonable' of a cleaner to deal with, in addition to the filthy state of the property.
It has been an incredibly difficult and consuming experience and I would definitely not recommend this agents to anyone.

GoogleDonald is only using my account as he hasn't a google account and I happen to be at a literature conference. I suppose he has a nice flat because of the positive things he tells us during academic discussions, but I have not been there.

GoogleI have rented a Whitehorne’s property for just shy of a year now. The process of securing the property was the easiest I’ve ever experienced and Beth in the office is absolutely amazing. Compared to what my friends pay within a mile radius, my flat is *very* reasonably priced. Ian showed me around the property due to staff shortages I believe, and I think that’s a testament to the business that the owner would step up and do something like that rather than just postpone it and inconvenience me (I travelled 2hrs to view it). He was even sweet enough to give me a mini tour of the area in his car, showed me the local shops / bars / pubs, & dropped me off into the city centre after!
I asked for the plans for the flat prior to moving in as it was unfurnished and even though they didn’t have them on file, they sent someone over to measure it all up for me so that I could arrange furniture in advance. Impeccable attentiveness & customer service throughout. I had trouble renting a place because my earnings are low, but Whitehorne were very understanding of this and allowed me to rent with provision of a guarantor (the only letting agents that I spoke to who would allow this).
I’ve done a few refurbishments to the property (resiliconing the bathroom, sanding & painting doors, soon changing the bedroom carpet) and the guys over at Whitehorne’s are more than happy for me to do so. Any issues I had with the property moving in and any maintenance issues since were sorted promptly by Kile (always with a smile and reachable out of hours), or where the problem was more specialist (I.e, changing the living room blinds which were faulty and some TV aerial problems), they got someone in to do it all for me. It’s nice to rent a property where it feels like the landlord & letting agency care about the standard of where you’re living and want to make you feel comfortable in your space. I also have a little cat with me and they have always been absolutely fine with this, which is a rarity.
Really happy here so far and all being well I’ll spend the rest of my time in Sheffield in this lovely little home.
Thank you so much everyone at Whitehorne!

GoogleI have nothing but praise for Beth at Whitehornes and their staff. She has been fantastic at every stage of the process: setting up and fully managing tenancies, making the paperwork straightforward and explaining everything well, providing appropriate trades people to deal with any problems as they arise, and seeing to everything that is needed promptly and efficiently. She liaises between landlord, tenants and trades people diplomatically to ensure efficient and trouble-free communication and resolution of issues, and all involved have always found her very helpful, straightforward and friendly. I cannot recommend Whitehornes more highly to anyone wanting an excellent service.

We appreciate your feedback Omar.
It’s important to know that unless we receive all the required, completed paperwork so we can validate and verify them, we are unable to proceed with any letting of a property either for any properties we fully manage or on behalf of any landlords we source tenants for.
This applies to potential tenants who which to ly a full years rent in advance also. These regulations are there to protect both the tenant and the landlord and we are bound by the rules with which we have to act.
This may be different if renting privately, but we offer a fully guaranteed and professional service to all our clients and will continue to operate in accordance with with the highest industry standards.
We do wish you the absolute best with you ongoing property search.

GoogleWe have recently had an absolute nightmare purchasing a property through Whitehornes through no fault of theirs. The problems were caused by our vendors solicitors. I very rarely leave reviews but I wanted to leave one for Kerry at Whitehornes as without her help and support these last few weeks I would have lost my mind. She went above and beyond to try and help resolve the issues we were having with the vendors solicitors. She kept in constant contact and was so helpful and reassuring while I was having a complete breakdown. At one point my own solicitor refused to offer any further help but Kerry continued liaising with the vendor and his solicitor right to the very end. Thank you Kerry xPositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

GoogleThis was the first time I have let a property. When I completed the refurbishment Beth came out the following day to take photos and later that day I had 6 confirmed viewings, 18 by the following morning. Whitehornes handled all the applications, references and other paperwork and just over 2 weeks later the tenants moved in. A very quick and professional service.

GoogleWe have just used Whitehornes lettings in Woodseats to find a tenant . The service from Beth and her team has been faultless . They sourced a number of good tenant candidates . We quickly chose the right one for us and the process operated by Whitehornes then worked without hitch , including completion day . Professional , knowledgeable , responsive , friendly , unfussy and good value for money .

FacebookWe sold my late mums house as the executor initially we had a buyer going in with a high offer we were nervous of his intentions but took a chance on him he put barriers in place all the way along and we did everything he asked unfortunately he waited till almost exchange and completion and reduced his offer by £30,000 we declined and put the house back on the market it sold quickly in a couple of days to a cash buyer with no chain this in our eyes is where things started to go wrong as this lady did slow time quite a while it was then brought to our attention she did in fact have her house on the market which her solicitor had advised her to wait for we then began to push for exchange and completion as we were in our 7 th month of selling the house and this had been put to us as a CASH buyer as soon as I started to push I was then very rudely told by the negotiator Kerry to back off the buyer and give her some space which I found unacceptable as we were in the 4 th month with this actual buyer
We felt as though Kerry was actually working for the buyer not us !!
Kerry started to never be available when I rang for updates she stopped returning calls we then had to go through our solicitor to push for completion as Kerry seemed quite happy to sit back asking us to give the lady the keys for 2 weeks whilst she decorated the house which we could not understand why as surely this is something that you do when the house is actually yours ! At the end in our eyes Kerry stopped working for us although clearly we were paying their bill not the buyer ! We were told this appeared to be a trend of the sales negotiator being on the side of the buyer !! Completely unprofessional ! Kerry has also passed the number of tradesmen of whitehornes into the buyer which we felt inappropriate !
When we had a completion date I was coldly told by Kerry go and put the keys through the letterbox with no regard to the fact that house had been out home from the 1970s when our parents bought it !
When I said it would have been nice to go and hand the keys over in person and meet the buyer to wish her well
I was very cold told no sorry clearly Kerry was on the side of the buyer for some reason !
Kerry ended this sale on a very sour note and we would never recommend this estate agent !

GoogleDo not buy a house from these estate agents or even sell one with them for that matter. Customer service from the sales team is appalling. Reasons why to follow.
This review could be pages long of why not to buy a house from these estate agents or even pay them to sell your home but I will try and keep it as short as possible.
Issues we encountered;
- Appliances advertised by the estate agent as included in the purchase of the property. Later to find out they was not included in the fixtures and fitting form. ( we had already filled our form out leaving all our appliances to our buyers which then left us with nothing)
- Our assigned negotiator so unhelpful and rude.
- Pressured to do searches and survey at the same time. We refused and explained we were proceeding with the purchase by doing our survey first then searches after we had our results. Caroline our negotiator shouted at me on the phone and said I must do them all at the same time, “she had been in the business long enough to no what she was doing” however we was proceeding how we was advised by our solicitor.
- Constant phone calls daily. So unnecessary, she was ringing me all the time, most of the questions needed to be answered by our solicitor. It felt like she was undermining our solicitor trying to get more information than necessary from myself instead of leaving it too the solicitors to deal with.
- Caroline received an email with an update of our position from our solicitor which explained there was no need to contact myself for anything else. After she read the email she called me instantly asking why we hadn’t sent off for the searches. Completely ignoring our solicitors request.
- We was having trouble getting a hold of our sellers solicitor so asked Caroline to give them a call. She demanded we told her what our solicitor needed them for, literally needed every single detail. The phone call ended in a argument between her and my partner as she laughed over the phone while my partner was trying to explain the issue to her. Rang back the next day and spoke to someone else, they sorted it out straight away for us.
- Towards the end of the sale myself and my partner started ringing the estate agents on days we knew Caroline wasn’t working. As when we spoke to anyone else in the office they were always really helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately these estate agents are been let down by a few individuals giving them a really bad reputation.
- I would like to say Hannah and Kerry from the branch we’re always really helpful, understanding and pleasant when I spoke with them on the phone. We also used the company’s morgage advisors, Abi and jess. Out of the whole house move this was the lowest fee we had to pay. However they have been the most helpful through the whole process.
Moving house is very very stressful at the best of times, unhelpful rude estate agents do not make it any easier I can assure you. If we wouldn’t of been at a financial loss for pulling out of our sale we would of been happy to walk away without purchasing our new property due to the inconvenience this estate agents has caused us. There was often times when I felt I couldn’t speak to the estate agents which made the whole process unbearable. It’s the people who have paid the estate agents I also feel sorry for because it really makes the future buyers consider pulling out of the sale, well in our case it was definitely something we considered.
We have been in the property now for 10 days and our sold sign is still up outside, I presume it will stay there until we ask them to collect it as they have probably not organised a collection.

GoogleAs it’s customary with many other lettings agents out there, they are so nice to you before you move in and become a ghost after you move in; leaving you to yourself and not offering enough support. With Whitehornes, that’s not the case. They are patient, will update you, and support you the whole time. Top guys. Highly recommend them.
