GoogleHonestly, feel scammed. When moving out we obviously used the bin to get rid of some stuff, but so were other people as we were living in a block of flats. Apparently, the bin was overfilled and £100 was taken out of our deposit. As if we were the only people living there. Mind you, we didn’t bin that much and thornsett couldn’t even produce evidence that it was us overfilling the waste bin. When challenged on this deduction, thornsett said all of the flats were charged but again, could not provide evidence for that. Employees were so rude and unhelpful in this whole situation. I believe it was just us being charged. Wouldn’t recommend

The charge in question was applied because the bin store was significantly overfilled at the time of your move-out. The £100 deduction was not solely for the removal of excess waste, a full breakdown was provided by our team. Throughout your tenancy, we cleared excess waste from the bin store on several occasions at no cost to tenants. In addition, we responded promptly to a maintenance issue which was caused by tenants’ belongings without raising charges.
We appreciate that waste disposal in shared flats can be challenging, which is why we highlight these issues during mid-term inspections and remind tenants of their responsibilities.
We always aim to be fair and transparent when managing end-of-tenancy deductions, and we’re sorry if you felt that wasn’t the case.

The best place I lived so far.
I absolutely love be able to communicate and have instantly reply to any enquiry I have. Staff is awesome. Especially Catherine and Kate. Gone above and beyond to make my move easy and smooth. Made me feel more then welcome to be here. Also a shout out to the maintenance team that refreshed the flat for me, fresh paint, brand new furniture, flooring and washing machine. GoogleThe primary issue was the landlord repeatedly entering the property at various times of the day without any prior notice. He would let himself in unannounced. On one occasion, he entered the house after working hours; I had just stepped out of the shower and found him standing in the hallway. I reminded him of the legal requirements for entry and informed him that he was on the property unlawfully. Due to the ongoing nature of these incidents, I sought legal advice. The solicitor confirmed that the landlord had breached several laws on multiple occasions and stated that his behaviour could amount to harassment.

Lived at Gladstone Building which was great location, affordable, great wifi, quick maintenance team and the office team are always happy to help. Only downside of Gladstone is that it is very noisy outside due to the cathedral bells.

GoogleI have lived with thornsett in 2 different properties for 2 years now, and signed on for a third! The maintenance team are so friendly and most importantly they sort any issue extremely quickly, from the little things like changing a bulb or changing a shower seal to major repairs on a washer and fitting a new oven, all on the next day after reporting the issue. They also have out of hours emergency service for serious issues which gives you peace of mind. Again the maintenance team are lovely guys which also goes a long way in the process of getting repairs and maintenance issues sorted. Would really highly recommend thornsett for anyone needing student housing in sheffield.
